I didn't expect this tea to be very good, it tastes like apple spice to me. I like it and I feel good about drinking it!

★★☆☆☆

The loose tea smells very herbally and a hint of lemon. Not a bad smell. The taste however I’m not a fan of. It’s hard to describe. My only guess is the burdock or milk thistle. In a way it tastes how plastic smells.

This tea is so nice and refreshing. It has a nice mint flavor to it and it makes you feel good after drinking it. This is my go to tea as it calms my stomach and makes me feel good.

I find this tea nice and relaxing and have been enjoying it after dinner. Burdock apparently has all sorts of (research backed) benefits and I'm glad to add it to my diet. I do like earthier tasting teas, so this may not be for everyone but I don't find it medicinal tasting at all and enjoy the warming sensation of the cinnamon.

Big fan of this tea. The cinnamon and peppermint balance super well. One of my top three tea favorites from this company.

This is good! I expected something mediciney and it is not. I like the minty taste that comes out stronger as the tea cools.

Perfect tea to help you detox all the things you don't want in you body. I feel so much better over all. Now I drink it once a week just for good measure

A slightly sweet and herbal scent wafted up out of tonight's packet.
A full 5 minute steep at 212°F produced a mildly greenish tinged tisane.

The flavor profile of this one in one word would be 'earthy'. The triple threat of Burdock root, Milk Thistle, and Dandelion Root blended to yield earthy and medicinal herbal qualities to this tisane. While cinnamon, lemon balm, and peppermint kept things palatable. Finally, the green rooibos added light and slightly woody essences to swirl and smooth everything together. Minty splashes of coolness mingle with a dash of tingly cinnamon heat to find an interesting balance in between. Lemon balm gives a nice smooth hint of lemon.

As an herbal health blend, this one actually is quite palatable. It gave us both a warm and snuggly feeling on our ski week trip after a day out in the cold.

For a medicinal tea, I think it's quite tasty. I don't add anything to it. I like to drink it after I've been eating rich food. Drinking it every day for a couple weeks may help with the holiday weight gain.

★★★★☆

Like someone else said, it probably needs a longer steep for the root ingredients. Tastes a bit like licorice to me, which I’m not always in the mood for. So this time I squirted in a good amount of lemon juice and I like how that brightens it up. It’s probably not going to win any awards for flavor, but I like to keep a tin around for recovering from over-indulgences.

Update: let it cool this time and I liked it better cool than warm.

i wasnt a huge fan of this one. it reminds me an awful of the herbal teas i would drink whenever im sick, which isn't a bad thing! i do suppose it has its moments, but as a regular day-to-day tea, its not for me! with a squeeze of lemon and some honey, it sounds like it would be perfect for any days when you're feeling a ill

Quite medicinal, but the peppermint and health benefits make up for it.

I could taste the dandelion root and pepper mint a lot. I like all the benefits listed. A nice tea for the start of the new year after a week of rich eating.

Many people describe this tea as earthy. That's just a kind way of saying it tastes like dirt. Actually, it tastes like dirt with a hint of peppermint. Since I don't like peppermint in anything other than mints, for me, it tastes worse than dirt.

Upon first opening today’s packet, the tea leaves issued an aroma that was a mixture of peppermint, cinnamon, and something reminiscent of medicine. My packet included 5 g of tea leaves.

I added 11 grams of tea sugar to my 12 oz mug as I waited for my tea water to reach 212° F. I steeped my tea for 5 minutes.

The lemongrass seemed to me to be the strongest flavour. It almost reminds me of a chamomile tea, if not quite as lovely.

This was a good tea and I may even steep it again, but I am not sure that I would go out of my way to purchase it.

A decent blend of warming herbs. The peppermint can be a bit overwhelming. The burdock and cinnamon pair well with each other.

It's a pleasant tea. Smells herbal and inviting ,not super medicinal, and the flavor is the same.
My only qualms with this tea are with the name, I tend to avoid anything 'detox' and leave that to my liver.

a solid herbal tea. I felt very healthy and virtuous drinking it but I don't think I would seek it out.

I drink tea for a variety of reasons: medicinal being one of them! I don't tend to flock to 'detox' items seeing as my liver and kidneys are in proper working order...however, the ingredients in this tea are good for you for a variety of reasons.

This tea smelled and tasted quite mint-heavy, which is not a problem as peppermint tea is my favorite! I felt like the flavor of cinnamon and dandelion root lended to an earthy flavor; it wasn't unpleasant (as some teas that include milk thistle can be).

As far as health benefits go, drink lots of water if you drink this tea often. There's a lot of diuretics in this tea and they work!

For a medicinal tea, this one is a winner. The ingredients mixture of ingredients were effective for me after over-indulging to celebrate the new year. I would definitely use this tea again during a detox.

Very strong mint flavor, followed by the dandelion/burdock and a bit of cinnamon afterwords. Might be great for when you aren't feeling well but not an everyday tea for me.

Trying with the CommuniTEA: Great tasting way to drink a healthy herbal dandelion, burdock root elixir. The cinnamon and peppermint are nice accompaniments to the slightly bitter, herbal essence of this tea.

2022 Update: starting working on my sluggish digestive system before I finished the cup.

Good morning my Teanatics,

The tea was okay, wouldn’t want it again if I had a choice, while some flavors were positive, it was difficult to tell since the mint was over powering.

I think leave this review with a grain of salt, given I have a cold at the time of tasting. Being I can only breath through one nostril, the fact that I could absolutely still smell the peppermint and cinnamon should tell you something. That said, the ingredients were subtle in the tea and really fantastic on a throat that feels like I've been eating broken glass. It's mostly cinnamon though with a mixture of a nutty flavor, meaning I couldn't really make out the rest of the ingredients (nor would I be able to, really; I've never had milk thistle before) which is why I gave a 3 raing. The peppermint definitely wasn't too strong either. Overall, good tea. Would make an excellent hot toddy base. Great for when your upper respiratory system is having a tantrum.

CommuniTEA Sample: this was an ok tea for me. A bit of mint, a bit of medicinal, and a bit of everything else. I do drink a lot of medicinal/herbal tisanes, and don’t mind the taste, but they aren’t particularly good. Just meh.

I like this brew for all of the medicinal benefits. I added some stevia monk fruit blend to bring out the sweetness of the cinnamon. The peppermint leaves, lemon balm, and cinnamon gave it a sweeter note of flavor to balance out the earthiness of the burdock and milk thistle and the bitterness of the dandelion root. Sip, sip away!

This definitely tastes healthy. There is a nice cinnamon flavor and a hint of peppermint aftertaste. This will not be something I brew because I want to taste it's flavor, but if I'm not feeling great I wouldn't mind trying this tea to see if it works.

When I opened the packet all I could smell was peppermint. Unfortunately it also overwhelmed the flavor as well. I did taste the the leaf herbs and noticed the demulcent nature of burdock on my tongue.
Root herbs usually need to be extracted by decocting them and I think that is why I cannot really taste the dandelion and burdock root in this blend.
I am grateful that there are herbal blends without flavorings at Adagio teas. I think they could be improved by having blends of leaf and flowers together and having. roots in another group with instructions on how to brew them to get the most out them.
Overall I did like this mild tea and enjoyed having a cup of pure herbal tea.
UPDATE:Jan 2022 Really enjoyed this herbal infusion more than last time. The flavors came through well and the peppermint was more of an accent and stayed in the background. Big improvement! Nice herbal blend that would be really great to have on a daily basis.

If your tummy is upset, this tea has a lot of good ingredients in it to help settle things down. That being said, the taste is weird and it isn't something I would reach for unless needed. But, it's good to keep some on hand for when it is needed.

2022 update: today's tea was sweet and cinnamon-forward when brewed in tap water, really pleasant and enjoyable. A second cup brewed in filtered water was peppermint prominent and rather bleh, difficult to finish. This was a nice morning tea which perked me up when I woke up tired. I tested it's detox properties by pairing it with fudge and oreos for breakfast and it seems to have taken the edge off the sugar low. My first cup was vastly superior tea experience compared to last time, second cup reminded me what I disliked the first time I tried this. So I think this tea has nice detox properties, but taste will be luck-of-the draw unless you brew a whole pot at a time.

2021: I could smell the cinnamon in the dry tea, but upon brewing, it mixed with other flavors to create an overall underwhelming sip. I first brewed this tea in tap water, and found it terribly blah - tasted a bit like mud, not even medicinal enough to convince me it would help in some way. A second brew in filtered spring water brought forward more peppermint taste and a pleasant cooling sensation, but that was about all that I found notable or enjoyable in this tea. Maybe it was simply how ingredients layered in out in my Communitea sample, but this tea didn't have any noteworthy flavors, nothing terribly offensive, but nothing very memorable either. It looked like twigs and assorted dried plant pieces that seemed destined for my compost pile and brewed a muddy color with lots of sediment. I can't speak much to its cleansing properties, but I did have it before a long car ride and it didn't seem too diuretic to handle. I found it was better with added lemon juice, and packed more of a punch with added ginger, but then again, plain water with lemon and ginger was perhaps more enjoyable and a bit more what I expect with a cleansing tea. Maybe my experience would have been different if I made sure that my sample hadn't shifted to separate out flavors. Or maybe the water was the issue. Judging on the taste and drinking experience, I definitely prefer detox teas by other vendors which have fewer herbs and simpler flavor profiles.

This was a surprisingly tasty tea for being a medicinal one. It was mildly minty with an earthy taste that seemed well balanced. Only a whisper of cinnamon could be detected when I sweetened and chilled a mini cup of it which gave the tea more interest and depth but wasn’t overwhelming which I liked. This tea immediately relaxed me and almost made me sleepy.

The peppermint-scented 3 grams/ 1.5 tsp of dry tea from the CommuniTEA packet looked very earthy with the many beige and brown knobby and seed-like herb pieces mixed in with the green rooibos tea and peppermint leaves. I brewed at 200F for 5 min. and used 8 oz. of water. The tea had a mild peppermint scent and taste when sipped hot. The pleasantly earthy flavor touched with mint was sweet enough to sip plain. I didn't detect a lemon flavor from the lemon balm nor the cinnamon flavor until the tea was chilled. It seemed the earthy taste of the herbs worked in concert so all of the flavors contributed to the taste of the tea without individually popping out. Only the mild peppermint flavor remained throughout the sip. Sweetening with honey brightened all flavors and being an herbal tea, this one has no caffeine or astringency. There was no bitterness even when brewed with a smaller amount of water for a longer time on the resteep to reboot the flavor.

Can I say this about the name of the tea? Tea-tox tea is a very purposeful name, it tells you what the tea does or is meant for. Maybe a more nuanced name would be a more elegant way to offer this to someone as a tea choice. How about sipping New You or New Ewe Tea for the transformation of your sheepish and sluggish body so that you can feel new again. Although the old adage, “a rose by any other name would smell as sweet” might apply here, Tea-Tox it is.

UPDATE: A good “medicinal” health tea that does not need a spoonful of sugar to go down.
4/10/21 Lovely mint and lemon aromas emit from the CommuniTEA packet. This is very good for what ails one, as it steeps into a golden color. It is woody, nutty and minty, all at the same time. Not bad, although I am not a fan of the burdock or milk thistle flavor. Still this is an especially good tea, especially if I am feeling unwell and need a healthy boost. (5 min @ 212º).
