Very heavy chamomile flavor with a hint of licorice and rooibos
This tea has a little bit of everything to create an interesting, multilayered sip as the fruity citrus, minty, floral tang all swirl around.
Lovely, calm tea perfect for an evening. Delicious!
The flavors were a nice mixture. I got a slight citrus flavor with lavender and floral to follow. It also had a beautiful color and smell.
This tea is my new favorite! The tart flavor combined with the sweet licorice aftertaste is just divine!
I received this tea as part of the CommuniTEA box. As only one small portion is received, the balance may be unbalanced compared to larger portions and such. On with the review.
Opening the tea reveals a highly-minty smelling tea, with lots of peppermint, many floral notes, and not much rooibos. Additionally, there is some orange present as well, which is very nice. The smell is odd, with peppermint at the front, but floral notes in the back that smells almost like chamomile somehow. I'm not sure about it, but I steep it regardless.
After steeping for five minutes with 212 degree water, the resulting tea is a deep ruby-red that smells mostly of mint. It's an odd tea, and the peppermint entirely took over the other floral flavors, though there was an odd tang that settled at the back of the throat. Additionally, the tea covered my mouth weirdly, which I wasn't really a fan of. Adding sugar made the tea stranger, as the peppermint took a step back for more of the tangy floral flavors.
Overall, I'm really not a fan of this tea. It's got an odd tang, and the peppermint adds a weird flavor, and I'm not a fan of it in general.
I poured out the contents of my CommuniTEA packet onto a napkin to take inventory before steeping. The only ingredients I couldn’t see were rooibos and licorice. I did not detect rooibos in flavor either, but I did unfortunately find the licorice taste. Of course I’m not a big fan of minty tea either and peppermint is here arguing with lemon and hibiscus as to who should take the starring role. Although plenty of orange peel was included it was not a flavor factor at all, so loud was the fight between mint and sour. It’s a lovely rosy color and I appreciate that this does appear to bring calm when needed to some sippers but this was an unpleasant miss for me.
A beautiful mix of ingredients, lots of interesting bits & pieces, and a LOT of hibiscus. When steeping a vibrant red color bloomed from my basket! Mesmerizing to watching the color blend into the water. It smelled citrusy.
& that’s where my enjoyment stopped. It might’ve been the luck of the draw, or perhaps it’s how it’s designed (hibiscus is the 2nd ingredient listed after all), but my Communitea packet was loaded with hibiscus. Although that was probably responsible for the pretty color, it also made my tea unbearably tart. It overpowered most of the other ingredients, what did come through - peppermint, lemon, licorice - tasted off/bad. Maybe this is the tea that makes me realize I’m not a fan of hibiscus.
Steeped 212F, 5 min
Oh yes, this is lovely! Wonderful fragrance, when opening the bag, and delicious minty and fruity flavors.
Really enjoyed this tea. I paired it was some very dark chocolate, which brought out a ton of sweetness in the tea. I was nervous about the licorice and rooibos, which I don't like, but they were undertones for me.
This blend just did not work for me at all. It's very busy and the overall flavor was kind of like the taste of those old postage stamps you had to lick. The tang of the hibiscus was an unpleasant addition. Thankfully, I couldn't taste the rooibos, but it still tasted pretty awful. I'm adding a star to my review because it has such a beautiful color. One redeeming quality!
Wasn't even like I was drinking tea. It was like I was drinking a Warm fruit juice.
Pleasant and fruity; but personally I prefer Berry creme compote. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA March Box.
A lot of flavors all competing for your attention. It comes on minty, turns to a dried root/dead flower taste with a hint of fruit, before going back to mint. I'd drink it if someone said it would help me feel better, but don't worry about the taste, but I wouldn't drink it for pleasure.
Busy, busy. This tea has a lot of flavors and aromas begging for attention. It's fruity and floral, tangy and minty. Each sip gives you something new to ponder.
The description of this tea states 'a bit of tanginess from hibiscus flowers' but it was all I could taste. I could smell a bit of peppermint in the packet, but once it was steeped it was just rooibos and hibiscus for me.
Today's CommuniTEA packet had a strong flavor when steeped for 6 minutes. The hibiscus and orange were stronger than I expected since the dry leaves smelled mostly of mint. It is very smooth and I didn't taste the rooibos at all. It's interesting because it has a slight tangy flavor from the hibiscus, but it's still smooth overall. The mint flavor was pushed more towards the background. I'm having a hard time trying to describe what exactly it tastes like overall. It's bright but also a bit relaxing. The description is accurate. When resteeped for 10 minutes, the flavor is mildly minty but not really anything else. I enjoyed this blend and I would drink it again.
Very pretty red colour! It also smells pretty good, but the taste is something to be desired.
Citrus flavors were predominant in my cup, and well complimented by flowery flavors and the woody rooibos. I could not detect much peppermint in my cup. I found this to be a nice and relaxing tea after work.
The smells out of my packet were a mix of mint and more subtlety, licorice.
What a beautiful color once brewed! Licorice and mint are still there, but it's balanced out a bit more with the floral and slight sweetness of the rest of the ingredients. Very interesting, but not sure if it's for me all the time.

A relaxing caffeine free brew that tastes better once it cools down a bit
Fruity and minty tea good for relaxing me on a stressed out day or when I just need a little mental escape from the ordinary. This tea allows me to daydream of the places I’d like to go and things I’d like to do!
Cold brewed for 5 hours, the tea was light and fruity, with a lovely dark rosy tint. I then resteeped the tea with hot water, and produced a totally different tea-light and herbal in flavor, with no red tint! The Rooibos was very light in my packet, and was not noticeable in the brewed cups. I’ve tried many of the herbal blends from Adagio, and this one would be lower on my list to buy.
Meh. Tasted like peppermint tea. Peppermint is hard to blend with other ingredients as it just always comes to the forefront. Not a bad tea. Just nothing special.
I really disliked this tea. The peppermint, lavender, and fruit did not complement each other.
Loved the idea of the ingredients in my CommuniTea packet today. The color is beautiful. The aroma Devine. Unfortunately, my taste buds didn’t care for the pairing of peppermint and fruit.
Adagio's blending is on point for this tea. The tea has a pleasant, slightly orange scent with floral notes. Even though this tea contains flavors that could be overpowering, such as hibiscus, peppermint, and licorice, they have some how achieved perfect balance to create one cohesive tea. No one flavor is the star, which really works for today's tea.
I brewed this tea at 212F for 9 minutes. I generally don't add sugar to herbal tea. The hibiscus made today's tea a little tart, but I still drank it as is. If you don't enjoy the tartness of hibiscus, you may need to add sugar.
This was fine and drinkable, but a bit too medicinal for my tastes for everyday sipping. There was mostly a tart, minty combination as the predominant taste. The flavors in the background were hard to pick out individually, but are what contributed to the medicinal medley. Overall, if I were choosing to drink this for health benefits, I would rate it high as being better than most other health teas. If I were choosing this on taste alone, I would rate it low as I wouldn't want to sip on this purely for enjoyment. Therefore, it gets a meh. (reviewed through CommuniTEA; 8 min @ 212 F)
Made sure not have this one first thing this morning. I needed my caffeine on a Monday morning. But it has been a nice tea this afternoon due to a stress filled day with work. Wasn’t sure of the combinations listed, and lavender can be a hit or miss with me.
Went with the recommended 5min @212° and was surprised by the lovely color of my tea when it was all done, I was not expecting that. Nor did I expect to so thoroughly enjoy the blend of all these flavors. The slightly tart and even a hint of sour at times being balanced by the peppermint and something else maybe passion flower? Ended up brewing it a second time a little later after more difficult customers and requests and found myself calming and easily slipping back into my customer service mode. Well done.
I really liked this tea although most times I'm not a fan of peppermint. The addition of all the flower notes really made this tea special and calming.
I really enjoyed this and I'm also struggling with how to adequately describe this! I think I'm picking up on the hibiscus, orange, and hint of peppermint... the remainder of the ingredients make a different yet delightful medley of flavor in the background. Not sure if it's something I would buy, but I enjoyed trying it in the CommuniTea nonetheless!
I really like this tea. I was worried about the licorice flavor since I dont' like it, but I don't really notice it. I like that there's a tangy fruit flavor with a hint of mint that makes it feel refreshing. I think the fruit is the more predominant flavor. I can smell a hint of the lavender. I like it with a little sweetener. I'll have to get more to try and see if it produces any long term calming effects but based just on the flavor it's delicious.
Based on the CommuniTEA packet: Not a bad mix of flavors but the rooibos makes me not like it as much as other people. There's definitely the herbal kick if you're going for that with the hibiscus and mint.
I'm not a fan of super overpowering herbals mixed with peppermint. They start to taste pretty medicinal these are what I call sick sipping tea. Just not my cuppa tea.
Nice tea though a bit heavy on the lavender for my taste. The tea is more savory than sweet which I enjoy. My husband enjoys it very much and finds it a nice cuppa tea in the afternoons at work when he's pushing to finish the day.
This blend is okay but I knew by the aroma when I opened the CommuniTEA packet that it wasn't for me. I'm learning that I'm not, not, not a fan of rose hips in a tea. This one is a little less medicinal as it cools but it's a bit too much like cough syrup for my taste personally.
Decent flavor, but could be stronger and more varied.
Got this tea in my Communitea packet this morning! I didn't look at what the tea was before brewing, just followed instructions on the package. The loose leaf tea in the packet looks really pretty, and I was excited because of the orange peel. The prominent smells were mint, licorice, and a little lavender.
I planned to steep 5 minutes and then left it in a little longer when I didn't get the same red color as the reviews mentioned. That didn't do it though, mine was more brownish, so the mix of ingredients I got was probably slightly different.
The taste of this tea reminds me really strongly of this morning herbal tea my family in Germany makes. That was my least favourite of the teas that I tried when I stayed with them. The mint flavor is really strong, and I get some licorice and some of the thistle, I think, and this is probably why I don't like it that much, none of those are flavors I'm thrilled with. I'm disappointed I didn't seem to get the tart and floral experience many had with this tea. I don't really taste any of the orange.
There's a lot going on in this tea, and to me to flavors seemed muddled rather than blending together harmoniously. I just get a very herbaceous taste with some sour notes from the hibiscus, and some cooling mint in the finish. I added honey but it didn't really improve it. I can see how some would enjoy this if you like earthy herbals, but it's not the tea for me.
Sipping along with the CommuniTEA today: Lavender and Peppermint scent wafts from the dry ingredients and packet. After steeping for 5 mins at 212°F, I notice a dark ruby hue in my cup. Essence of peppermint, minerally hibiscus, hints of floral notes from the additional flower petals wafting from the cup. As expected when I take a sip, the peppermint and hibiscus are most prominent with a tiny hint of lemon balm. I don't really notice orange, rooibos, or licorice. For me the mint and hibiscus are not a great combination. Perhaps if the ratios were closer to the order of ingredients listed, the hibiscus and mint would be better balanced.
This tea smells wonderful like those little headache pillows and calming balms. Tastes quite a bit different than it smells, which is probably good because it’s not perfumey. The lavender is mild and the licorice barely shows up. I’m mostly tasting the orange and mint. Smelling the bag alone was pretty calming. I might feel a bit less stressed after drinking it, which is much needed.
There were too many conflicting flavors in the tea mix that they compete with each other with the result being a muddled and confusing flavor in the cup which you are never able to pin down. I do love hibiscus but even it’s fruity tangyness gets lost n this tea. Not a favorite.
3 stars as a medicine, 2 stars as a tea. I'm mostly getting the hibiscus, with licorice and mint following behind. The color of the tea is a very pretty pink! I tasted the tea at 5 minutes and decided to steep it another 2 based on that. It reminds me of rhubarb, because of the tartness from the hibiscus and the color. (7 mins @ 212 F, 2 drops EZ-Sweetz)
I don't quite know how to feel about this tea. I would call it more savory, or medicinal, than many of the other blends I've tried. I think it would be a mistake to put sweetener in it. It was still good, but it got cold before I finished it.
UPDATE: I received a packet of this tea in the communiTEA cup of the day. It's better than I remembered! I'm a little more used to tart and medicinal flavors in my tea now, and with my more trained palate about one year on, I can notice and separate out more readily the licorice, lemon balm, hibiscus, and rooibos flavors individually. I've had licorice teas before that really smack you in the face with anithole, but this tea is skillfully blended, so there are many other notes playing along next to it. There's a strong natural sweetness here from the orange peels and also the licorice, of a quality that wouldn't play well with sucralose, although those of you who use rock sugar or honey might give those a try.
I'm bumping my rating up by a star, because this really is a terrific tea.
This was a perfect herbal tea! I felt that the flavors mixed together very well. I can see one some people, might not be into the acidic flavors, but as someone who likes a little sour kick in drinks, this didn't both me at all.
The first and main note I get from this tea is the mint. I’m not sure if that’s typical or just so happened in my ComminiTea packet. If I wanted a mint tea I wouldn’t pick this one.
CommuniTEA flavor of the day. I brewed it per packaging instructions for about 10 minutes. Out of the bag, this smelled like a tea I didn't want to drink (very medicinal) Once brewed it smelled like a certain cough drop that people seem to love from the Swiss Alps (or so the ads seem to say). Upon tasting, my fears were confirmed- cough drop flavored tea made even closer to actual cough drop with the addition of honey. I'm giving it two stars because I can still drink it.
This was an incredibly layered sip which I enjoyed until the very last drop. A peppermint aroma greeted me first as I opened the CommuniTEA packet today to brew 3 teaspoons of a dry tea that appeared to have all of the ingredients.
Brewed in a 10 oz. cup at 212F for 7:30 minutes, a deep scarlet liquor developed. Sipped hot, the tea had a pleasantly tart taste from the hibiscus. I added a bit of honey to sweeten and enjoyed the sip as the mint flavor was the next to come forward followed by a citrus flavor from the lemon balm and orange.
A licorice flavor and an earthy taste from the combination of milk thistle and the florals were tasted in the second steep which needed a full 10 minutes and less water to develop into a flavorful sip. Although rooibos was listed as the tea base, it played a very minor role and I barely noticed it. I could sip plain the second cup. It was not as tart as the first. I liked the way this tea blossomed with different flavors coming forward as the tea cooled. A bit like a daydream that shapeshifts with the clouds, there was something new in each sip.
Oddly enough my package had the remnants of tea leaves. It smelled of peppermint and lavender, but the packet was empty!!
Hmmm unusual; the scent has me hesitant; citrus does come through.
I sip and sip more; I still seem to be unsure; I did drink it all!?!? (Haiku review)
