Is a reat tea to help me fall asleep. Very comforting with a nice hint of spearmint that soothes the throat.

Good smell, pleasant taste. A cup of this tea right before bed helps me to wind down and relax.

Great cup for before bed. You can definitely taste the chamomile.

A great cup of tea to end your day. Has a nice smooth flavor and helps you to get in a relaxing mood.

The spearmint and chamomile are definitely forward flavors of this blend, and the valerian root adds a wonderful sort of 'herbiness' (for lack of a better word)--reminds of something I would have hated as a kid but love as an adult

Smooth and mellow. Within 25 minutes I felt my eyes get heavy and I was ready to snuggle in and call it a night. I have clinically diagnosed insomnia and rx meds don’t work! 40 Winks is a keeper.

I suffer from insomnia and I’m always on the hunt for natural remedies. After trying this in the CommuniTEA some time ago I ordered a larger sample. I felt it helped somewhat to settle me into sleep but when I added an extra pinch of valerian root it was even better. I slept like a baby last night thanks to this tea.

Does its job! Any time I drink this I sleep like a log that's listening to a gentle rain on a tarp tent on a very dark night

This is much better then just plain chamomile tea. It has a much better taste and my husband drinks one cup one hour before bed, he is not a tea drinker. We both find it just chills you enough. Love the flavor.

★★★★☆

Not hugely different from regular chamomile, but has just enough difference to be interesting.

★★★★☆

This is a very calming tea. It's got a great earthy smell and taste. I don't know if it helps me relax or sleep any better, it could be just a mind thing, but it's a good tea.

★★☆☆☆

Very medicinal. Ok with honey. Not sure it made any difference with sleep.

★★★★☆

Overall, a great wind-down tea, but almost all of what I taste is the valerian root. That's not necessarily a bad thing for me, but if you're not a valerian fan, this probably isn't the tea for you. 4 stars because I wanted so badly to taste some of the other flavors--especially the spearmint (which I love) and lemon balm (which would just be unique in a sleepy tea), but they were all overpowered.

★★★☆☆

This was not my favorite tea. It tastes very flowery, slightly medicine-y. I prefer Foxtrot for a night time tea.

It is a nice way to not be so stress, but it did not help me to sleep.

★★★★★

this tea tastes great and I drink it every night before bed. Love it!!!

This is a delicious tea for before bedtime. The flavor is gentle and the effects are subtle and calming.

★★★★★

A sleepytime tea is a stable in my tea cabinet and so 40 Winks is a must. Perfect for winding down, 40 Winks benefits from a little bit of honey but is otherwise my go-to for a relaxing evening as a prequel to a deep slumber!

★★★★★

So delicious and soothing. I was surprised with the taste and the texture and how easy it was to drink.

★★★★☆

I love to drink this tea before bedtime to calm me and soothe my stomach. I love chamomile and lavender tea. Together the flavors are relaxing and soothing.

★★★★★

Really have liked this tea. Honestly not the biggest fan of chamomile but it has been a staple nighttime tea beacause of its soothing effect. I prepare it as recommended and let it cool down and drink without sugar or cream.

★★★★★

Delicious tea that will be added to my daily routine

This tea has a distinctive, powerful aroma. Tastes ok but may not be suitable to everyone's palate. I suggest trying a sample before buying in bulk.

★★★★☆

Nice taste. Great before bed if you need a little help.

This is great to drink before bed, as it helps me get a little sleepy and the flavor is nice.

Love this tea, I have purchased the sample, and the big bag. I am now on my second 16 oz bag. I drink it every night. I love the gentle flavors but if i am feeling particularly ramped up i can steep it longer. It then has a stronger flavor and I feel more sleepy after i drink it. Love love love it,

I really was not expecting much from this tea. Most sleepy teas I have tried are flowery and/or loaded with chamomile, which this tea has but it is not such an overpowering flavor that I can t enjoy the tea! Perhaps the honeybush tea allows it to have a mellower taste, I am not sure. What I am sure of is that this might be my tea late night tea before bed if it helps me to sleep better.

★★★★★

Tastes better then a lot of other sleepy teas, and definitely does the job

★★★★★

Amazingly effective. No hangover or lingering after taste. Smells good too.

This is probably the only time you'll catch me drinking chamomile. It's a hard flavor to make work in a way that I'd be willing to drink it and yet, here we are.

★★★★★

This is one of the best sleepy time teas I have ever tried. Anything with valerian root usually tastes terrible, but this one is a nice flavor that I actually enjoy drinking before bed.

★★★★★

This is so so so good. Zen in a cup. Delicious taste, soothing sent.

This is my favourite going to sleep tea. I drink one cup basically everyday. While the sleep pre-infusion is not the best, the smells disappear after the water is added. This tea is sweet but not overly.

The chamomile and the spearmint are the strongest flavors wee noticed. The honey Bush, lavender and valerian provide a comfortable base for the drink. Seems like its the kind of tea you either really love or really dislike it. We really love it.

Perfect for calming the stomach and relaxing before bed.

★★★★★

Without a doubt the best way to prepare for sleep. Every time I have acup before bed time I sleep solid and I must say my dreams are fun.

★★★★☆

The taste is okay - herbally and a mix of odd flavors. The scent of the dry tea is odd (I hear that's the Valerian root), but the brewed drink itself is mild and chamomile-forward. Regardless, this stuff puts me out like a light. Excellent for stressful nights or insomnia for me.

It tastes great, but it doesn't really help my insomnia. It does have a calming effect, I felt less anxious. I just didn't sleep. But, I love the flavor and might just keep drinking it for my anxiety.

Tried this as a sampler first and loved it so much that i bought the biggest size and it is now a staple in my tea collection. It's a wonderful tea for those restless nights

Yummy! Definitely a calming bedtime tea. With all the lavender and chamomile. Very earthy and floral.

★★★★☆

Really good clean herbal blend. A comforting sip, strongly chamomile-based, but benefitting from the other herbs present as well. Ordered a sample size and the bag was bigger and fuller-looking than the others, but it seems I need the same amount of tea for a pot as a regular herbal, which is a plus. Star taken off for dead snail found in package.

★★★★☆

it's nice to have when trying to go to sleep early

★★★☆☆

This tea is alright. I'm not really a fan of the flavor, but it does help me get sleepy. It's more of a medicinal tea than a pleasurable tea, and there's nothing wrong with that.

★★★★☆

Very herbaceous and slightly spicy. Its a nice tea, but not something I'd want right before bed

★★★★★

I have fallen in love with this tea, despite my abiding hatred for valerian root! Does valerian root smell like utter death to everyone else, or is it just me? My girlfriend couldn't quite understand what the big deal was when I nearly gagged upon opening the packet. I've always hated it but wanted to give this tea a try anyway, and I'm glad I did! The valerian root smells BAD before steeping, but seriously mellows out and plays nice with the other flavors while hot. Settling down with a mug of 40 Winks has now become a bedtime ritual for us, and my sleep habits are thanking me for it.

This is my wife's favorite tea, she drinks it almost every night.

My 2-year-old with a sleep disorder has been drinking this tea with us every evening since we got it. She almost sleeps through the night now, and I am actually sleeping almost all night as well. It has single-handedly almost completely resolved our family's insomnia problems.
