Great complex flavor. Delicious blend that I'll be drinking regularly.

Probably the best bedtime tea I've ever had. Tastes delicious and I sleep so soundly

The loose tea smells like camomile to me, overall I liked it.

This is a great nighttime tea with a gentle flavor. It smells great too!

its alright, not one of my favorites. it has a weird taste for me. i put a lot of honey in it.

A calming tea with notes of lavender and valerian root, great for bed just as advertised.

It is definitely an herbal blend, by which I mean foot-y herbal taste, not just un-caffeinated tea. That said, some of the harsher notes are well-covered with a nice minty flavor, and I have no reservations about chugging a cup of this tea with a melatonin-enhanced tincture to knock myself out when I NEED to sleep. It does its job well.

great tea! smells a little funky at first but the taste feels much lighter and soothing

If you're not really a fan of chamomile, fear not because it's a very mild taste in this blend. Most prominent are the spearmint and lavender which provide a pleasant and soothing taste and make this tea very smooth and easy to drink. Now, on the front of aiding sleep- how much trouble sleeping do you have at night? I don't think this tea is a miracle cure for insomnia or irregular sleep cycles, but if you have trouble with restlessness and settling in for the night than this tea may be just the ticket for a peaceful night's sleep. It does a really superb job of mellowing you out and relaxing you and putting you in the right space to get some good sleep. I definitely recommend it, just don't expect it to be a cure-all.

A good bed time tea. Earthy with just enough mint to balance it

This is pretty good. A bit more earthy than I usually like but the other flavors help make this enjoyable.

Peculiarly earthy mint aromas emanate from tonight's packet. A 7 minute herbal steep at 212°F produced a pale green and peachy tinged tisane.

The familiar scent of valerian root was detectable amidst the steam from the first cup as it cooled. Hello old friend! Many a weary night we have shared together... longing for a sleep that would arrive excruciatingly late. Oh well... never mind those unrequited memories of everlasting nights. We shall try again together once more, now that circadian phase alignment has drifted into a stretched and settled 25 hour groove.

A pungently earthy flavor permeates each sip as my eyelids grow heavy. Each minute seems as if it were an hour passing by, as other flavors slowly meander towards me. A passing glance from passionflower reminds me of Slumbering Sloth tea flavor cameos, followed slowly by a honeyed sweet chamomile. Lemon balm gives a nice smooth lemon zest aspect. Some floral lavender snuck by. It must've been hiding behind the passionflower. Blurring and slurring together, these flavors give way into a minty fresh spearmint finish. As the cup cools, more passionflower and valerian root flavors rise up in strength.

As far as chamomile and valerian root blends go, this one is a well balanced mix of flavors and scents. Enough spearmint is present to mask the valerian root, which often smells like feet on its own. Chamomile and spearmint are well balanced among the other herbal components, and give this tea quite a complex yet balanced flavor profile. Well done with the blending on this one!

This is a lovely, pleasant blend. I'm not a huge fan of chamomile, but in this blend it actually works really well. It remains to be seen whether it actually makes me sleepy, but it's certainly a soothing, comforting cup, and that for no other reason makes it a great nighttime tea.

Today's CommuniTea packet is 40 winks with valerian root, honeybush tea, chamomile flowers, spearmint leaves, passion flowers, lemon balm, lavender, cherries and blue cornflowers. In the packet, I primarily smelled mint and it was quite lovely. Once water is added, however, other scents came to the fore. I brewed in my CommuniTea cup with a metal strainer, and there was a lot of sediment. I recommend using mesh instead, unless you like bits and pieces in your tea. It tasted better to me than it smelled, and chamomile was thankfully somewhat masked. I doubt it will ever be a favorite, but since it's supposed to have a 'purpose,' it will be interesting to see if the valerian puts me to sleep. Brewed in 12 ounces of 200 degree water for five minutes. Four stars for now based on taste, and possibly upgraded later if it fulfills its reputation. :-)

A complex blend of flavors that is soothing and relaxing. Herby, but not medicinal. I steeped per instructions and enjoyed with a drop of honey.

This tea is very medicinal, but not in a bad way that makes it undrinkable. It's a very nice herbal blend and a relaxing cup. It's minty and the chamomile is good in the mix, I enjoy anything that has lavender. As a chronic insomniac it didn't make me sleepy per say but it was calming for sure.

I was worried I wouldn't like this tea based on some of the ingredients (lavender and chamomile), but this is actually delightful! Hoping for a peaceful night's sleep <3

This tea is better brewed on the shorter side with 1 tsp per cup or less. That helps the mint come forward; when brewed at 2g per 8 ounces and 8-10 minutes, the tea is very earthy and medicinal, chamomile and rooty prominence without much mint or lavender in my packet to cover up the less palatable tastes. At its best, I don't get much lavender, but at least a shorter brew helps the mint compensate a little. This tea is stronger and less creamy than the Slumbering Sloth, but a bit brighter on the finish if not brewed too strong. This will never be my favorite flavoring, but it does help calm me at the end of a long day, so it gets points for effectiveness.

This herbal blend makes for an interesting combination of flavors. I can detect the spearmint, but for the most part, most of the components blend together into a flavor that's larger than themselves. Somehow lavender, spearmint, chamomile, and valerian root combined to make a flavor resembling...licorice? But perhaps the taste doesn't matter so much as the effect...Do I feel sleepy? Yes, yes, I do, but whether that's the tea or my chronic lack of sleep is anybody's guess. A second steep still seems puzzling flavor-wise, but the mint has faded and the chamomile is more prominent. Though not a blend I can see myself drinking on a regular basis, it's certainly...interesting.

Enjoying along with the CommuniTEA: Yummy combo of sweet herbal, with a hint of floral and smidgen of funky sour chamomile. Even if it doesn't help you sleep (which it should), it is calming and tastes good. (5 mins at 212°F)

This is a very busy, complicated blend! Lots of different flavors and herbs in this. It tastes very herby and flowery. I don’t think I’ll be adding this one to my cupboard.

I think the chamomile & spearmint are the leading flavors, with a woody note. The smell is kinda off-putting, but don't let that sway you, it tastes better then it smells. I'm not too sure about it's calming/sleep aid effects, but my mum (who drinks it more then I) swears by it.

Was hesitant looking at the ingredients as this seemed like one of those medicinal teas you drink because it is good for you. Pleasantly surprised with how good this blend was. Best way I can describe is it herbaceous floral. Not sure if it will help me sleep but it was relaxing to sip.

This tastes like herbs in a cup. It’s too medicinal tasting for my likes, very heavy on the Camomile and mint. I hope it helps me sleep tonight though.

My husband and I both enjoyed trying this tea after dinner. The spearmint smelled and tasted delicious. Next time I will add a little more dried lavender.

★☆☆☆☆

Very medicinal flavor. The spearmint, lavender, chamomile all come through and some other strong flavor I can't identify (the valerian maybe?). This may be helpful for sleep, but it won't do any good if I can't choke it down. For me it is undrinkable. (10 min @ 212)

Lemon, lavender and spearmint were predominant. A soothing tea with a lovely color.
Update: I have noticed an unusual aroma to this tea. A bit unpleasant and off-putting...It could be the valerian root, which I don't believe I've had before.

This tea was pretty, and there was a lot going on in my packet--a nice mix of everything listed in the ingredients, and a big honking dried cherry! I have always thought straight valerian smells/tastes horrid, like old smelly sweat socks. But this was a nicely balanced blend with the chamomile and mint covering up the nasty valerian aroma. I am a chronic insomniac, so this didn't put me to sleep. But it was a nice herbal nighttime blend nonetheless.

What to say about this tea? I'm not a huge fan of chamomile or mint, so the smell and taste of this tea were not great for me. BUT! Once I was finished drinking the whole cup, I couldn't even stay awake long enough to post this review. So, apparently, it works! It's not something I would want to drink often, just because of the overwhelming mint, but I might keep some on hand for future sleepless nights.

Very nice tea that really puts you to sleep at night. I love the overall flavor of the mint, lavender, and chamomile. It s not medicinal at all, but a really relaxing drink. Don t drink unless you are ready to get really sleepy and check that the Valerian root doesn t interfere with any existing medications. @adagioteas

This “sleepy” tea did make me feel more relaxed and yawny. But it did not put me down immediately. However, I found when I did fall asleep, I slept very soundly and for longer than usual. As someone with chronic sleep issues, sound sleep is often illusive, so that was appreciated. The blend is yummy to drink too. Sometimes wellness teas can be icky, but the blend of chamomile and spearmint with cherry and lavender was a nice sip. Happy Sipping!

26 Sep 20 communiTEA review: A whole bunch of stuff was noted when I opened the CommuniTEA packet this morning. I looked at the website to find out that this was a sleepy tea. What am I gonna do now! Should I wait ‘til bedtime to drink this? What the heck, I’m retired, I can do what I want and take a nap at any time of day ... so I “ kept on truckin’ ” and drank it! Moderate woodsy and spearmint aromas were noted in the bag and hot in the cup. I’m not a big fan of chamomile, but it was pleasant in this blend. When warm, the Honeybush added a mild honey sweetness to the deal. A very slight but pleasant tartness from the cherries and lemon balm was noted. Moderate woodsy flavors and aromas from the valerian root carried on from start to finish. This herbal has all the expected flavors as advertised. However, there was just too much overpowering floral-ness going on for my liking. I actually do feel a little mellowed-out now, but still awake! (7 mins @ 212ºF, 1/8 tsp sugar)

This tea has an interesting aroma. You can smell the valerian, mint, and chamomile upfront. The taste is a complex blend of the different flavors, with each sip having someone new take the lead. It did help me sleep better, but too much to drink right before bed time has its own issues with trips to the bathroom 😁

Delicious sleepy time tea. The valerian is up front, but I am one of those people who love the smell and taste of it. The chamomile and mellow spearmint are also prominent flavors. Very relaxing tea, although it is not making me sleepy. Really nice blend.
