They may not be 'pretty' but very functional and at a great price.
The tins are great function-wise. I love the clear-hinged tops and the size (4oz). I do wish they did stack better but I can still stack 2-high well enough. I thing I really did not like so much was the design of the tins (the logo, colors, etc)...it's not very aesthetically pleasing.
I really wish Adagio would ship labels that could be used with these. There's a little area for writing the tea name, but it doesn't hold a pencil or pen without smearing.
These are nice and probably cheaper than what I could find at Walmart or something (no nice tea places where I live). Since Im new to tea, I don't know for sure if this is a bad thing, but they aren't super watertight.
I have some of the small tins (ok,a dozen of them) from teavana. These rock compared to those. They hold more, are cheaper, and you can see how much tea is left in the tin. I still have some of the tins that adagio used to ship free with their teas, and these are so worth the $3/tin it is ridiculous to even try and compare them.
These canisters are nice, but not nearly large enough. They held my Gunpowder and Black Dragon Pearls easily enough, but, all things considered, twice as big would have been better.
Great tins! Nice size. Made of solid sturdy materials. Price is right!

I like the tins. They are easy to use and store more tea than I originally thought. I especially like the clear tops so you can see how much tea is in there.
The tins are lovely, but I wish they came with the tea like they used to. The bags the tea comes in now are flimsy. As for the tins themselves, however, for the price, they're excellent.
These are good, and they work well, but I was hoping they'd be bigger than they are. Also, the lids are curved, it's nice because you can fit a bit more in them, but they're not stackable.
I'm not thrilled about having to buy these. However, the tins are great quality. I bumbed the review down to 'good' because of the price. It is easy enough to keep and refill the ones I have. I keep trying to come up with uses for the sampler size ones...

Very handy and easy to use. They hold about 3 oz of tea and even stack fairly well.
Had I known that Adagio was going to be switching to the bags, I would have made sure I kept my old tins so that I so that I wouldn't have to pay for replacements. We gave in and bought some of the tins because the bags made it very hard to store our teas on the little shelf devoted to them.
I tried keeping my teas in a bag, and it just wasn't doing it for me. Since the tins are reusable they are definitely worth the buy!
These are highly functional and very sturdy. Just the right size for storing small amounts of teas, sugars, or other things.
As much as I wish my tea came in these tins, they are totally worth the buy! They look good, they keep the tea fresh, couldn't ask for anything more.
While I am a bit disappointed that these tins no longer come with the tea, I am glad that we can still buy them. Looking around my kitchen kinda makes me appreciate the fact that these tins no longer come automatically, since I've got about 10 old tins floating around. The great part about these is that they are easily to relabel. All you have to do is wipe off the old writing an write in the new (at least if you used pencil) It is almost too easy to wipe off, but I can live with that.
The tins are OK. I of course prefered getting them with my tea. Not so much due to cost, which is fine either way, but because I liked the color coding of varieties that I got when the tins came with the tea.
When they were included, I used to re-use them for bulk spices when the tea was gone, I may have to rethink that now.
Wish they still provided them w/ what i buy but i only need so many.
The tins appear to work well. My Tea has been consistently fresh and the Tins have not yet broken.

I think I would like these better if the tops were not clear plasitc but they are well shaped and stack. I peeled the labels off the tea (trimmed them) and stuck them to the tins and I think they will work out well. For the price, I think they are a good value.
I can't mark as great because I can get a rubber sealed container for cheaper, but given the price and quality these are good. Worth buying especially if you need to add 9 bucks for free shipping like I did.
These are high-quality products - they don't pop open or leak, and the tea inside stays fresh for a long time. As others have noted, it's annoying to have to buy them now, instead of getting them free, but I understand why Adagio would not want to give away a tin with every order of tea (less cost, less waste, etc.), and $3/tin is actually a very good price.
Great way to store teas, especially if you order more than 3oz of a certain tea. I just wish they came with the tea instead of being a separate order. I may just use the bags supplied with the order.

Handy little containers and are very inexpensive. These are also the best made ones I could find and I searched everywhere!

These are very nicely designed and functional containers.
They work well just as they always have. I know everyone is bummed that they are sold separately now, but I'm glad that I can just refill the tins instead of having a ton cluttering up my kitchen.
These tins look good and seem pretty solid. The only thing that concerns me is that the clasp and hinge areas of the top appear to me made of somewhat thin plastic - as far as I can tell they're reasonably sturdy, but I don't know for certain how they'll hold up over extended use. Still - quite nice.
I love these tins. I wish they still came with the tea when purchased. The only downfall is to pay extra for the tins after purchasing tea.
Very nice tins for keeping tea, I understand that Adagio tea used to be sold in these tins or something like them. I don't really know why everyone is so upset that the tea is sold in packets now. If they still sold tea in these little tins i would probably have a ton of them empty after a few months, and I really only need 3.
If you're expecting these to be totally airtight...they aren't, at least the tin itself isn't because it's rolled sheet metal and there are places where the metal is joined where air can find a way in or out. The top lid is in fact airtight though.
Sad that I have to pay for them now, but they're great, and fairly priced for what they are.
Coming a few months late into the game I'm a bit disappointed that the tins don't come with the orders anymore, but I do not regret buying them. They are built well and seem to work well. Much better than digging in a bag for the last bit of tea. If I had any complaints it would be that they are a tad bit expensive.
Love the locking tops and UV-blocking lids. They stack 2-high well, any higher than that and they start getting unstable. They hold about 2 1/2 ounces of oolong, and up to 18 tea bags. I'd love to have these available in different sizes.

Great, but I'd like to know what's in it without having to write on it permanently. So, at the moment, I'm taping the name of whatever tea is inside, to the outside.

I too remember the days when Adagio tea automatically came in these tins. I understand that costs likely prohibit continuing to sell the tins along with each tea order. However, if available only for purchase now, I would like these tins to become available in additional colors and sizes. The design is great
Nice way to store and display your tea. Seals tight, but opens easily. Wide opening much easier to scoop tea from than the bags the tea normally comes in.
Love the tins! I got 9 to start, I'll need more. Its so nice to see the tea, helps when I'm choosing what tea I will enjoy for the day. They stack nicely 2 high. I asked customer service what the plastic lids were made of, its PP (food grade #5) so its safe plastic, not toxic! Love Adagio customer service, quick response to my question and super fast shipping, other tea companies take 8-14 days which is awful!
They are conveniently sized and look great. They also seal well and I enjoy the clear top very much.
Nice sized tins that I intend to use for when I bring teas to work. I like that there's a space to write the tea directly on the tin. UV friendly clear lids are a real bonus.
