As far as a tea brewer goes, it's very simple. The design having two openings leads to a pretty significant water intrusion/leaking problem that is most likely fixed in the other designs by virtue of not having two openings to seal. It brews tea well, I've not had issues with the brewer there, but the leakage problem poses a significant issue if you want to use it for one of its express purposes, travel.

All in all, I think it's a brewer that should have had more thought put into the 'Why' before it got prototyped and made, the tea basket just needed to be longer, we didn't need to make the steeping process be a 'Turn it upside down to start steeping'

The metal outter end caps came off after the first washing. It should be able to be stored on either end but one end leaks. :( I love the concept and I was really looking forward to it, so I'm bummed. It's still functional, just only in one direction, and not as pleasing to the eye.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for (and great price when compared to other similar products elsewhere). I've seen a few reviews complain about leaks and that seems to be due to the unforgiving threading on the unit. If you make sure that both ends are not misthreaded and go on properly (does not require force so if you are having to put in more than minimal effort, check the threads) and that the gaskets are in place, then there are no leaks. Sure some condensation can form on the inside and dribble out when drinking or trickle down from the lid once you unscrew it for a drink but that's physics and not a product fault. I've only used it twice so far but I'll definitely get a lot of uses out of it before anything goes bad (gaskets etc).

I love the MonderniTEA, it is just almost perfect with a few little changes but I adore this tea gadget..

This mug leaks almost immediately. No amount of trying to fiddling with the two lids fixes this. I try to tighten it and the metal part spins on the black plastic. It is not a usable mug.

I really wanted this tumbler to work out because it is so nice looking! Unfortunately, I had to return it due to leaking. I tried flipping the gaskets and tightening the ends to no avail. The staff at Old Orchard were kind enough to help me exchange it for the activiTEA tumbler, which has worked out well.

This is my favorite travel tea maker. It looks beautiful and the brewing mechanism makes a perfect cup. I love that the brew basket on the bottom allows me to decide if only want to make half a cup. No problems with leakage - though obviously if you wash/rinse it and water gets in the lid, it will leak out. This is the only way I have experienced “leaks”

I used this twice and after the second time being run through the dishwasher the adhesive holding the metallic to the plastic lid failed and I can no longer screw the bottom lid on to the glass. I unfortunately regret purchasing this tumbler.

This brewer is fantastic it's greatly increased how frequently I brew loose leaf tea for work or even at work the bottle is really high quality and the sleeve keeps your hands from getting to hot when you have a full bottle of 212° tea
Absolutely love the quality and build spare an occasional leak (that can be more attributed to the steam not quite sealing the gasket) this infuser works perfectly

I'm totally new to the tea life but am now absolutely hooked !!! So much so that I needed a proper vessel to transport my liquid pleasure throughout my day. This fits the bill perfectly. Compact enough to grace my cup holder, easy enough to use and a breeze to clean. I may purchase a second for longer days away from my home.

Not a fan. It leaks as soon as you flip it over. I’ll probably end up throwing this out. Very disappointing.

I wish I'd listened to the other reviews. This is a truly bad product. Not just bad but dangerous. When it leaks it dumps a spoonful of scalding hot water on your hands. I thought that, using it a few times, I could get the hang of tightening the ends to keep it from leaking but it still leaks at unpredictable times. Never safe to put in your bag. Never safe to hold in your hand.
Do not buy this. I wish I hadn't.

UPDATE: Support got in touch with me only to ask if I could flip the 'gasket infuser' in the lid and try to get it to work. No instructions on what a gasket infuser was or how to flip it. I wasted my money on something I will never be able to confidently use. Don't do the same.

Not sure how to get it not to leak. I wish I could have returned it and got the tried and true one.

great cup does not leak at all. the longer you leave the leafs in as you are on the go the better the drink gets. the sleeve they provide does give you extra time for it to stay hot.

This tea holder is very sturdy. Don't make the mistake that I did and figure out how to use it after you poured hot water in to steep your tea. The cozy sleeve helps keep the tea warm for longer periods of time.

I absolutely love this. You have to be careful and make sure everything is completely shut because it can have its 'leaking?' moments, but it comes with a sleeve and is wonderful for taking tea on the go. It may take some getting used to in order to figure out how to get it to not do something weird with the liquid it can hold on to in the lids.

I love this thing. This is the second one I've bought, since my first one broke 😢. I love that the mesh is fine enough that you can steep pretty much any loose-leaf in it. It's a good size. I like that it's glass, better for temperature control and for the environment. And my new one came with a cute and handy sleeve. Absolutely love this thing.

I like the idea of both ends screwing off for cleaning, it works well for heat retention. The problem with mine is the silver outer part of the lid came apart from the black inner part; the glue just straight up failed. I can stick it back on, and the whole thing works, its just a little wonky. Pretty sure I just got a bad one, other teaware that I have got from here has not had a problem.

The top leaks a little when hot water is added because of the steam. Otherwise great. @adagioteas

I have used my ModerniTEA a few times now and have been pleased at how long the double insulated glass together with the sleeve keep my tea warm. I have not had any problems with leaking as other reviews have mentioned but I'm very aware of the rubber gaskets and how tightly I screw on the end caps. So far the only negative I have experienced is that the sleeve is about 1/2 and inch too tall and I have to shove it down every time I want to drink because otherwise it's in the way of my mouth. I do hope they find a way soon to offer replacement parts as I've somehow already lost my infuser, but I'm not too worried since the paper tea filters work great for steeping in the long slender traveler.

The great part about this is it makes having tea at work so much easier. We have the large Aramark coffee makers at work woth a spigot for hot water so I'd always have to have a teaball, a cup, and my tea ready, with this it's just all around simpler to have tea at work. The downside is that it is a little difficult to clean. The silicone on each lid is not attached so often falls out

Good for tea on the go, keeps it warm and your hands from getting burnt. My only complaint is that it's very easy for it to leak when flipping over if you don't seal it tight enough. Other than that it's been a staple in my routine at work.

Great system for brewing. Nice to take to work to easily brew some loose leaf tea without relying on disposable bag. Has a tendency to leak.

If you are allergic to nickel (like I am) then this is not the infuser for you. There is nickel in both lids. This looks like a great infuser. I just wish I could use it.

Nickel is a pretty common allergy so I wish Adagio would consider using other materials.

It is extremely easy to use and clean. The process of making the tea is quick and easy. It leaked only once when I first used it.

1 bottle broke and 2 other bottles kept leaking even with the seal on right.

I waited a long time to purchase the ModerniTEA. I finally bought it to use at work and I am so glad I did! So far I have used it by cold steeping/infusing tea leaves for enjoying in the early afternoon while I am at work. I love the thick protective travel case/cozy that came with it and I keep the ModerniTEA in the case unless I am filling it up or washing it. I was a little concerned about it being glass since I was using it on the go, but the glass is double walled, very thick and the protective sleeve helps eliminate condensation friction so it doesn't slip out of my hands. I add ice, water and the tea leaves around 6am, then I place the ModerniTEA in the sleeve/cozy. The tea has been perfectly steeped by lunch time and the ice has melted, but I pour the tea into another cup full of ice to drink. It might be a little messy to use this as a cup because the rubber circular insulators around the screw on top and bottom are in the way and would probably need to be removed first. The only thing is I would like this to have a bigger capacity, but it does work to steep the leaves a second time for enjoying at the end of the day. After pouring in another cup I then just refill the steeper with water and ice (if convenient) and place the ModerniTEA back in the sleeve. I am so glad I purchased this for convenience and on top of that it is so sleek and beautiful! I feel spoiled even though my tea time is on the go. I add 3-4 teaspoons of loose tea to the infuser basket. That is enough to steep twice for me depending on the tea.

I've used this travel mug 5 times, using different teas and strategies, but cannot successfully make a cup of tea without a quarter of the liquid leaking out one or both of the caps. Extremely frustrating!

Beautifully improved design from the original Adagio glass travel tea infuser (for which I've enjoyed three over the last decade+). Futuristic, comfortable to hold, fine holes making it ideal for most teas, no plastic contact with hot water, easy to use, handy safety cover sleeve = new tea-making bestie.

I really wanted to like this infuser. After all, I have an ActiviTEA that I've used for years. But every single time I used it, one or both gaskets leaked. More gaskets equals more problems, even though it’s beautifully modern.

UPDATE: I had decided to return it, but I decided to try replacing one of the gaskets with a slightly thicker one first, and it doesn’t really leak anymore.

I was trying to look beyond the negative reviews. But yes this things leaks on both ends. Some have said that it keeps tea hot for several hours it keeps my tea hot about as long as my tervis cup which is about a hour. Will be trying the stainless steal one next. Its really beautiful but just messy.

I love my new tea tumbler! I have experienced some leaking, but nothing too bad. My tea stays warm for 1.5 hours or more. The tea infuser works great and easy to use! All around a wonderful tumbler!

I was so looking forward to this being a good solution for work, but I can't really recommend it. It is sturdy and keeps the tea warm moderately well, but it leaks like crazy. I've tried everything (over tightening the lid, under tightening the lid, under filling, etc) and nothing works. It just leaks all the time. Once the tea is steeped, it's fine, but getting there is painful.

Great infuser and pretty too! Two days after receiving it, the pieces of the lid completely separated and came apart. I contacted customer service and they said they would send me a replacement, but that was a while ago and still no replacement lid...

Perfect for taking tea on the go! The thermos keeps your tea warm for quite some time and the infuser is easy to clean.

Very clever system, great for travel. It's a little tricky to get the filter basket off when it's hot (and it's hot!) and it's tricky to get the gasket seals out to clean. Otherwise I love that the body is glass, and it insulates very well. The mesh is effective for loose leaf teas (would not be great for more powdery or very fine particles).

One of the best tea tumblers I've used so far. Very easy to break down and clean, which was very important to me. No small crevices that are impossible to clean for mold to build up in. I love being able to watch the tea as it's brewing. Comes with a padded slipcover that protects it (to some degree) from accidental drops while you're out and about. I liked it so much that I got one for my mom for Christmas.

I’m def in love with the idea of this traveling tea. My only quarrel is that sometimes it leaks out of the bottom of the little rubber ring lifts while you are cleaning it or pulling the tea basket out.

Sleek modern design. Keeps tea hot for about 2.5 hours. Easy to clean and doesn’t leak.

Great quality. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet but the look of this travel tea mug and quality have already made me a satisfied customer

This is high-tech/cool looking. It feels like it's made very well, plus I love the sleeve that comes with it to keep my tea warm. Highly recommend.

With covid, I have much less use for a 'to go' bottle, but this has kept green & oolong tea moderately warm across a couple long drives. Nice design, easy to clean. Doesn't leak.

Only holds heat 2 hrs tips. Leaky. Cap holds water from dishwasher. With Presto, you don't need this anymore.

Used this for the first time and am in love with it. The infuser is a really nice size - perfect for a bigger cup of tea (ie the glass it's in). I didn't have any problems with leaking and found the infuser very easy to seal in the bottom cap. and the bottle Never got too hot to hold! I just might have to order me another one.

This is not even just a great tea bottle, but it's genuinely pretty innovative. Not many bottles can do what this does.

I'm always anxious to travel with glass, but the sleeve this comes with made me feel secure. I use it for brewing tea on the way to work or infusing fruit in my water. I love that both ends can be removed and the tea infuser is removable a well. Beautiful sleek design with a great tea infuser!

Tea in a work of art. Travel convenient and the sleeve is perfect to keep tea nice and warm

I love this piece firstly because it's VERY aesthetically attractive. It looks like a futuristic vial that might contain a top-secret, genetically-modified, miracle strain of tea, or something like that. It has quite good seals, strong glass, and a nice filter. My only complaints may be that it isn't extremely well insulated; I can sit a full thermos of hot tea on an open countertop and it will be cold in 30 minutes, even if the thermos is inside its pocket. It may seem like 30 minutes isn't a long time, but it essentially makes me obligated to drink it within that time frame if I want it hot, so I can't carry the thermos with me in the morning and expect hot tea at lunch.

However, the thermos has an elegant and effective design, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a thermos that will keep their tea hot for a maximum of under an hour or so.
