The mug and infuser is great for a single cup of tea and the infuser can be used in tea pots with a small top. It is a shame that the 'sieve' material is not also on the bottom side of the infuser since that would allow it to infuse better.
An ideal 'have tea anywhere' set that combines a glass cup with a removable stainless steel infuser. Perfect for home or office use. Dishwasher safe.

This set is currently my favorite tea cup and infuser. I use it almost every time I want to make a cup of tea. The only real drawback on this set that I've found, when compared to the JUMBO cup or the individual infusers, is the infuser is made in such a way that it sites right on top of the lip of the cup, but makes removing the infuser from a fresh hot cup of tea just a little challenging. I sort of wish the infuser had a small handle to grab it by, like the individual infusers. Handle or no handle, I highly recommend this set!
Perfect for my desk at work. I love watching the tea infuse through the glass!
I use this mug and infuser at work alongside an electric kettle I got here in town. This is the first time I've used an infuser like this - I was used to smaller tea balls or infuser cups on a chain I'd put into a regular mug to steep loose-leaf in. So when I first used this one, I was stricken by how *different* the tea tasted when it had more room to move! It's taken me a while to get used to that difference. In a smaller infuser, you can get away with longer steep times without pulling astringent flavors from your leaves, but in this cup, I've frequently had to steep for a minute less than the minimum recommended by Adagio to avoid that astringency. Personal preference, I guess. I will note, though, that it is extremely convenient to have this around and be able to take loose tea to work to drink rather than having to try to steep it at home and take a travel cup.
One drawback I've noticed is that due to the wider mug and thinner material (a few millimeters of their special glass), tea tends to cool off *quickly* when you're near the bottom of the cup. I wouldn't consider this enough of a drawback to try to argue against the mug, though. It's just something to keep in mind.
I love my new glass mug, and the lid is quite nice as well. I only wish the infuser was just a little bit smaller so that it would fit down in other mugs and cups I already own.
I use this set all of the time, and have purchased more than one for tea-loving friends. This makes a great gift. The glass cup keeps beverages hot, and is very light. The infuser is easy to use and easy to clean, with small holes so that leaves don't escape into the cup.
This mug works amazingly. The perfect mug for work.
It's cute and small but it seems to be very fragile. I'm always afraid that I might break the cup easily.
I use thisvatvwork everyday. No problem with the diffuser, you just let it drain for a second. The glass does not feel thick, but has held up daily use for months now.
I really like the idea of this mug, but it gets very very incredibly hot and feels very fragile. The infuser fits in a lot of other mugs, though, and the lid fits on top of most too, so that makes up for the mug. I honestly wish I had realized there were ceramic mugs available before purchasing this one. I think they'd be more worth it.
I purchased this set for myself because I love the clear glass and being able to see whether any tea particles seeped through the infused. Oddly enough, I have never gotten any mixture of loose tea into my drink after using this set, unlike when I use the porcelain set. Unless I just got one with a lucky infuser, I'm inclined to say that this set will produce 'untainted' cups of tea. I love it. Just be aware that the glass is very thin and light. It seems very fragile, though I don't mind that a bit.
I love it! Super handy at work - I use it ALL the time and it makes tea quite accessible in a working environment.
The lid is plastic, which doesn't matter I suppose. The infuser bottom is solid which means having to tilt it to the side to drain completely. Not over-the-moon impressed but it's functional, just wish I'd paid much less.
When I first got my glass mug and infuser I doubted if it would hold up. I figured it would get broken easily. Not so. After five years I did break the mug lid, and replaced it. This is the perfect size tea mug for my requirement. No little tea cup for me, I wanted a good sized cup of tea and this is it.
I use it every day to make my morning tea. Works great! I love having an infuser and lid in one cup.
The design of the infuser mug combo is really good, easy to clean.
The glass mug IS pretty thin, but I haven't had a problem with it so far. The infuser is great! Only the dust-sized particles of tea can get through, and even then they settle to the bottom.
Looks good and is easy to use and clean up! You can use the lid as a coaster for the basket.
I bought this glass mug and infuser for my dad as a Christmas gift. He liked it but had a couple critiques. One being that the infuser doesn't have holes on the bottom so draining the remaining tea from the infuser is a little more challenging. The other thing he mentioned was that the infuser gets hot to touch and doesn't have a protective coating or handle to pull it out of the cup. The infuser does however have really small holes which are great for small tea leaves like rooibos. With a couple of improvements adagio could have a great infuser.
This mug comes with the worlds best infuser ever. The mug itself was thin but durable.
Love it. use it a lot. I think it's a bit pricey though.
Brought this for work hoping that it would help me bring my favorite blends to my desk. It has exceeded my expectations! I'm able to brew my tea I use for my headaches and such and still stay at work. I love that I can see my tea through the glass and feel the temperature. While it doesn't keep it as warm as I like it kept, the other benefits outweigh this one drawback.
This mug is beautiful and simple to use. Doesn't leave a metallic taste like most tea balls :)
The largest downside, is that the bottom of the infuser does not have draining capability. Otherwise, this combo works quite fantastically. The original cup broke, and I have an older model that once has a glass infuser.
Oh my goodness I love it! Works great and simple clean up!
A must for a tea flavor snob at work. It works just great at my desk.
Looks Absolutely gorgeous. Love looking at my tea while it steps.
I love to see how the tea is brewing and the genle tuch of glass to the mouth. Onely, the infuser is challanging to take out, without burning the fingertips. Would like it to have a handle.
I thought the infuser was also a strainer- it's not. I had to return it.
The cup gets a little hot to hold, but the infuser does a great job of keeping the leaves contained.
When I opened the box, here's what I noticed: 1) Ooooh, pretty! 2) There's no handle on the infuser like there is on the similar infuser that comes sans cup. I hope I don't burn myself taking it out of the cup. 3) The glass is very thin. Even the handle is fairly thin. I'll need to be careful! 4) The infuser is really, really big!
So, I brewed some green pekoe. I measured the water and found that the mug comfortably holds 16oz of water. I was surprised to find that I could actually see the silhouettes of the leaves through the infuser. I enjoy the visual aspects of brewing tea, so that's nice. It's not a splendid view, but if I want to see how much the leaves have opened, I can do that. I also liked watching the water change color as the tea steeped. I am impressed by the size of the infuser. it fills most of the mug's diameter and reaches just about to the bottom, which allows me to brew smaller cups without sacrificing infuser space. I also really like the infuser mesh. It's got a whole lot of closely spaced, fine holes. It lets very little dust out, and it allows for a lot of water flow. It's not quite as fine as ingenuiTEA mesh, but close.
As for the mug, the glass is thin enough that it lets the tea cool quickly. That was convenient at first, since it cooled enough to drink quickly, but it got cold before long. So, not a good mug for slow sipping while reading a good book, maybe. (And I will need to be careful not to lose or break the lid, since it will absolutely not maintain brewing temp for long on its own!) I think the biggest con is the lack of handle on the infuser. I really don't want to pull it out of a cup of Foxtrot that's been steeping at 212* for 7 minutes. And I think the glass could stand to be a little thicker - that would make it sturdier and help it retain heat longer. I'll probably update this review once I see how often I use this set.
*Update* Yeah, the lack of handle is a pain in the behind. I would like the glass to be a little thicker to retain heat longer, but it's really the handle that's getting to me. I think it would be worth the extra $2 to buy the glass mug and the regular infuser separately.
this is so easy to use and clean up is a breeze. I love that I can put in dishwasher.
Love this product, but the mug seems very thin. Hope it stands up to heavy use.
People have said that they had trouble with this glass mug breaking and that they feel it is too fragile, but I have not found this to be the case. The glass is thin, but this is because of the type of material rather than any defect. I have used the mug and infuser at my desk every day, and it is wonderful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Makes a perfect gift. Add a few teas to this and you're good to go.
Convenient and great little brewer. Just don't drop it!
loved this ! made measuring and making the loose leaf tea easy. was good to use at work as well
The glass holds in the heat well but allows my drink to cool to a reasonable temperature in time for me to actually drink the tea if I am on the run and just need to get my fix in. The lid is one the the greatest things that could ever happen in a mug.
This mug is just ok. The infuser has no handle, so it's very hot when you try to take it out. Also, I'm not a fan of the handle. It's hard to keep your hand centered on it. This is an issue because the top and the bottom of the handle get a little hot, since it touches a mug full of hot tea.
As with all of the other glass products here, the glass is thin and so you need to be careful with it. I only wash mine by hand, and I try to be gentle when I set it down.
If I were going to make this purchase again, I would not get the infuser. I much prefer the stand-alone infuser here, because it has a handle with a silicone cover, so I don't fry my fingertips when I'm removing the infuser (I actually own two of them). Then, I would go and buy the stand-alone glass mug (or maybe I actually wouldn't, since I don't like the handle).
Although, honestly, while Adagio has the best teas, I'd have to say I'd actually buy my next glass infuser mug from one of the competitors. I have one of their mugs and I like it a lot more (silicone ring goes all the way around the infuser, and the handle is bigger).
I love this mug and infuser! Watching my tea steep is interesting to me. The only reason I'm not giving this the highest score possible is that there's no handle on the infuser. That makes removing it from scalding tea very difficult.
The fine mesh of the infuser is by far better than other infusers I've used in the past. The mug on the other hand is scarily thin and feels very fragile.
The most important device at my work desk is the tea mug. It is such a space saver, with a simplistic device that I don't know how I survived without it for so long. It is a delicate glass so needs gentle hands.
His infuser has a much finer mesh than one of Adagio's competitors. It is also a larger infuser that allows my tea to spread out and bloom.
These glass mugs are okay. A little on the thin side. I am alway afraid of breaking the cup when I wash it. The infuser is top notch.
The mesh infuser is small enough to keep even my rooibos tea contained. Gently tilt infuser as you lift it out of the cup, and the solid bottom is no problem and all the liquid drains out. Love it!
So far, I'm loving this mug. The mesh of the infuser is small enough that I haven't had any loose leaf bits to speak of left in the tea (I have yet to try it with rooibos). The glass design is very attractive for teas since you can easily see the color of it inside. The only small detractors I can think of is that the lid can become pretty hot, depending on when the mug is covered, and that the infuser can be difficult to grasp and remove after the steeping is finished since it rests directly on the lip of the mug and no further than that. Those weren't large enough issues for me to personally lower my rating, but it may be some things to keep in mind. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.
Love my mug. The glass top cracked due to dishwasher overcrowding, but ordering a replacement lid was super simple. The basket is my all-time favorite steeper tool. It works well with anything from standard black tea to rooibos and osmanthus, without any little bits escaping into the tea. The glass mug allows the tea to cool to the perfect temperature for almost immediate drinking, and shows off blooming teas or oolong that you let loose in the cup without the basket. Best tea equipment I own.
I am the only tea drinker in the house and have found most teapots are too large and require me to either drink 2 cups straight off or feel that I'm wasting an entire cup. This way I get a perfectly brewed cup for one and the strainer is fine enough that I don't have little bits choking me on the last swallow. The only downside is the glass feels like it would shatter easily, so treat it carefully. I highly recommend it.
So convenient! I just wish the glass were a little more insulated. Nearly burned my fingers just holding the handle as I would a normal mug.
The best mug and infuser I have used! Still in great condition after months of use.
