Kei, alternatively known as Megumi, is a character from Tezuka's Black Jack. Kei's story is complicated in canon, as it deals with issues of gender identity, medical practices of the 70's, and now how it all relates to a modern reader. While back in the day his story may have put being trans* in a flippant and negative light, I like to think we can take it and make it positive as we learn from the mistakes of the past.
