A lost sense of hope brought about unfulfilled wants and Desires always promises its sister Despair. There are no flavors that could sum-up the pit of emptiness one feels, yet since Despair herself has no scent this tea has the simplest of flavors. Fresh green pekoe will take you to the earthy and damp hide aways of our so familiar emotion. Then the toasted sesame is as powerful and full of depth just as the meaning to what is tearing you apart, and finished with aniseed that shows that not all is lost inside Despair. You may be in the shadows or have her weighing on your shoulders, but there are hints of light that you Desire. Enjoy hot on a gloomy day after steeping for 4-5 minutes.

Despair is based upon a character in the Neil Gaiman comic book series Sandman. In this tea there weren't many ways to flavor Despair and yet there needed to be something enjoyable for the drinker. Though she isn't very clean nor the most pleasant of characters, Delirium still loves her just the same. Hopefully this tea is earthy enough to match the scent of her shadows! So enjoy when you need a little Despair to darken your day.
