When I was around 12 or 13 years old, my step-mom and I began watching Tokyo Ghoul together. I instantly felt an attachment to the character Ken Kaneki because his story is relatable in some aspects yet stays true to good anime storytelling. He was a really sweet character turned sour by abuse, so I wanted to incorporate that story into my blend. This is a sweet, tangy blend of coconut, pomegranate, and blackberry with accents of coconut shavings to add more of the rich coconut flavor to the blend. I chose tangy fruits to compliment the sweet, creamy coconut and to tell the story of Kaneki´s personality changes throughout the anime. This tea also holds special value to me because I have endured a similar shift in my personality due to trauma caused by my biological mother. This tea both has something to do with me and the anime. So enjoy my personal Kaneki-inspired tea blend!
