I was a bit disappointed with many of the Slytherin tea blends I found on Adagio, as they typically use Green Tea as a base. I envisioned something earthier, spicier for my personal Common Room experience. Christmas is my favorite holiday after Halloween, and I thought the spicy notes of gingerbread and clove would accompany the Assam nicely. I didn't want it to be too harsh so I did cut the gingerbread with cream tea. The result is lovely: spicy and smooth, and perfect with milk and sugar.
The blend really doesn't require more than 1tsp per cup to brew, which is nice. It's a full-bodied blend that stands well on its own. In addition, I tried out re-using the leaves, and found that each teaspoon can be used for two cups of tea before the flavor is negatively impacted.
