This is my favorite Christmas tea so far. I enjoy sipping it in front of the fire.

This was a splended surprise. I really thought this would be generic nutty flavor gimmick or watery and plain, but it really had a smooth and sweet taste. Glad I got the big bag. I really went out this year, this was a nice gem, I think I will be able to enjoy all year round. The flavor is very smooth and rich with notes of sweetness. I highly recommend it.

The Rooibus Nutcracker has me in the holiday spirit. I like this one slightly sweetened.

CommuniTEA 12/09/22: I first tried Rooibos Nutcracker as part of the winter tea sample box. The nutty caramel flavor is there, but with a rooibos base it tastes watery or weak. This is my chief issue with rooibos or honeybush in general. Still this is a perfectly nice caffeine-free sweet cup for Yuletide sipping.

This tea is not bad I don’t like red rooibos, this blend is not bad, maybe it the caramel, chocolate, nuts and fruits.

A little cream. A little sugar. A lovely brew. Great for a nightcap or pretty much any time you want a caffeine free indulgence. As with other rooibos teas the leaves are very small so you will need to be careful about how you strain the tea leaves out (I never brew rooibos in my VelociTea so that I do not get leaves stuck in the pump or the pipes). Enjoyed with the CommuniTea on 12/09/2022.

Immediately opening this one you get a very in your face nuttness aroma. Initially i was worried about this because generally i am not the biggest fan on nut. I was happily wrong, after brewing this one at the recommended temperature and time i found my self actually enjoying it.

This was my first rooibos tea but after this one it has me wanting more. I think the flavor profile on this one is perfect for a winter day

My daughter and I really loved this tea. It's really nice to have when you just need something before bed with no caffeine to really quench that sweet tooth. The caramel and chocolate notes with the nutty fruit flavors just really balanced this tea out as the perfect desert tea. Add some sweetner and creamer and it was delicious.

The caramel and chocolate give this tea an amazing aroma coming out of the packet. While it was an enjoyable cup, I think I liked just smelling it best.

CommuniTEA Review:
I had some hope for this tea because when I opened the packet the red rooibos was not the primary scent. It had aromas of caramel and fruit. However Red Rooibos has such an overpowering taste to me that it drowns everything else out to me. The color of the tea was pretty in both the packet and steeped.

★★★★★

Great combination of caramel, hazelnut, and a little chocolate. This definitely is an appropriate tea for the Christmas season. I do think sweetening the tea improves the flavor overall.

★★★★☆

Strong cocoa hazelnut flavor over a rooibus base. No other flavors were noted. I could see this being a good drink to warm up in the mornings in winter for some people but it's just not quite there for me.

★★★★★

Everything in this blend goes so well together! The earthy roiboos base supports the sweeter holiday flavours of chocolate, caramel, hazelnut, and chestnut. You can taste them all, and a little dark agave helped to intensify them, adding a nice depth and darkening.

I did not enjoy this tea. It’s not precisely bad—the caramel flavor is nice—but I’m just not a rooibos fan. The aroma is unattractive to me, and that made the tea hard to drink.

★★★★★

It's like a warm cookie in the afternoon without the calories. Nice rooibos caramel flavor with being overpowering.

★★★★☆

The biggest flavor other than rooibos is the cornflowers and marigold, which lends it a nice floral taste that is sweetened by the caramel. Very mild apple taste even though I saw the apple pieces in my packet.

I get lots of nutty flavors here that mostly disguise the medicinal taste I usually get with red rooibos. I do get a lot of almond and cream. If I was going to drink a red rooibos this would be near the top of the list. Call me surprised that I am finishing my cup.

This tea was quite tasty. I brewed it at 212 for five minutes. I love chestnut and would probably have rated it five stars had it not had hazelnut in the mix. I did not detect any chocolate flavor my cuppa. The caramel came through nicely.

The rooibos dominated the flavor profile with the caramel, chocolate, and chestnut not detected until cream and sweetener added. Even then, it only mellowed the rooibos a tad. Rooibos was still overpowering in this mixture.

Today's CommuniTEA is Rooibos Nutcracker (12-9-22). Upon opening my packet, I had a good amount of all the ingredients. I added some extra cocoa nibs and chocolate honey. It was pleasantly sweet and very delicious! I really enjoy this tea and would highly recommend it!

Packet smells strongly like the added flavorings - hazelnut, chestnut, and a hint of caramel. I brewed at 210 for 5 minutes.

No surprises here - definitely rooibos with a hint of hazelnut and chestnut! I don't get too much caramel flavor on the sip, and the apple and cocoa nibs might have well not been there because their flavor is definitely overshadowed by the added flavorings. Would be interesting to see the taste with real caramel pieces and toasted nuts instead.

★★★★★

Another tea that reminds me of my old college haunt, Chocolatea, in Kalamazoo. This rooibos is stunning. The nutty flavor is most prominent, but the cocoa and caramel linger on the edges. The fruity flavors didn’t really appear until the tea cooled a bit, but this needed no alterations. However, this would make a FANTASTIC tea latte with some cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top

My favorite of the December teas so far. A balanced cup where the festive notes don't overwhelm the Rooibos and there is no harsh mint note. I drank it black after following recommended brewing time. Added a 1/2 tsp of Scottish heather honey for its caramel notes.

★★★★★

Absolutely lovely cup of tea! Warm, nutty scent was evident right out of the packet and persist when brewed. It's smooth and warm and full and simply a hug in a cup. Might be a new favorite!

★★★☆☆

In the bag: Finely chopped orange-red rooibos leaves form the base. A few substantial apple pieces. A few marigold flowers. Scattered blue cornflowers.

On the nose (pre-steep): Strong, rich nutty aromas. Smells like heartier nuts, not lighter ones like peanuts. It's hard to pick out anything else, but that doesn't bother me - the scent is delicious! An almost woody background note.

On the nose (post-steep): Very similar to pre-steep. The same hearty, nutty flavor with a woody undertone.

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): The woody note of rooibos has come forward to share equal footing with our nutty friend. I'm not tasting any of the other additives.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): The barest hint of caramel has joined the festivities. Otherwise the same.

Opinion: A pleasant tea, but not one that I would crave. The hearty nuts here are not tasty enough to star in their own production. I advise adding sweetener to bring out the supporting players.

Preparation: 7 min @ 212 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener

CommuniTEA packet tasting, most of the time, I dislike red rooibos. This one is nutty and sweet which hides the red rooibos yuck that I don’t enjoy. Well blended! Happy sipping!

UPDATE:

Rooibos Nutcracker
Updated Review for CommuniTEA December 9, 2022

I steeped as before, but this time I added some vanilla almond milk to the blend and wow! Did this really bring out the flavors. Once again a very enjoyable sip. My 5 star rating remains.

I had this tea once or twice before, as it was gifted to me by my very sweet and generous daughter. The first couple of times I drank it, I made it super strong and added vanilla almond milk and maple syrup to make a fantastic latte. So far I’ve used most of my rooibos teas in this manner and was a little uncertain how it would taste on its own.
It smelled wonderful upon opening the package. I think I was smelling the rooibos, chestnut and hazelnut, but I’m not certain. Whatever I was smelling it was amazing and very comforting. I could see apple pieces nestled among the tea leaves, though that’s about all I could see other than the tea itself. Having learned my lesson with previous teas here at Adagio, I let the tea set a bit before drinking. It was hard to wait but well worth it. The flavors are smooth and well blended, a truly enjoyable cup. I taste the rooibos, the chestnut and the hazelnut. I’m not sure what else, maybe the caramel. There is no vanilla, but it seems almost like a hint of vanilla, as well. Be that as it may, I think this is definitely one I want to have in my stash. I think it would work with almost any meal, or just because.
I steeped as per package directions: 5 minutes at 212*F in 12 oz of water. I added 2 tsp (sweet tooth here, LOL) of tea sugar, though I think I could easily drop down to 1.5 or even 1 tsp.

I am not a red rooibos fan. This tastes like a sweet rooibos. It is creamy and has caramel flavors. The red rooibos is a bit cloying for me so it is meh.

This blend is fantastic; the carmel really stands out even on its own. I might buy a bag before the season is over.

All the extra add ins help—a lot. But in the end, it’s still rooibos, and rooibos is the dominant flavor.

Edit 2022, this tea is a creeper, in a good way, i hate red roobios and only enjoy it in so many blends, but the more i drink this one, the more i like it, its no roobios pecan turtle which is alchemy and one of my favorites, but good none the less.
This was good hot but the cooler it got the more the medicinal flavor snuck through, not as bad as other red roobios but still hard to drink a whole cup, I did love the nutty flavors when hot.

I enjoyed the flavors of the tea - the fruit, caramel, and slight nuttiness. What I am also learning is that I am not a big rooibos fan. It is okay but just not a big draw for me. Those who enjoy rooibos should really enjoy this tea.

My child's favorite! It was his entry ticket to tea-ppreciation! Smooth vanilla and nutty taste for the win. Does not even need any sweetener.

This is quite likely my very favorite Adagio tea. It’s a dessert type tea and is just so cozy. It’s hard for me to explain its taste but it’s delicious to me. I happen to like the red rooibos teas, but I don’t feel that flavor overwhelms the blend. It’s very much worth giving it a try if you haven’t already.

This is now my favorite!!! It is the perfect blend.
I wish they would sell it all year.
I also wish they would sell it in bags.

I wanted to love this rooibos. However, I think I had it hyped up in my head too much because instead of instant Christmas, I thought that it was a slightly nutty regular rooibos. I have to confess, I think I am becoming something of a tea purist. I am enjoying fewer flavored teas than I used to love. I will say this for Adagio though, I have rarely come into contact with teas that taste of artificial / chemical flavors. Even though this rooibos did not impress me as much as I had hoped, I do appreciate the subtle, natural flavors. I will likely give this another try but if I don't enjoy it much, there's always the Vanilla Rooibos I love.

This is one of my favorite wintertime (although I drink it all year) hot teas. The nutty flavors in this are amazing. I prepare the tea as instructed and add just a little half and half, then sit back and enjoy.
