A caffeine-free twist on a classic blend. Zesty citrus, but smoother and sweeter than traditional Earl Grey.

I am an avid earl Grey tea lover and also really like roobios tea. This is a nice option of earl Grey that doesn't have the caffeine kick especially before bed

really enjoying this as a caffeine free option in the afternoon. The rooibos doesn't overwhelm the bergamot flavoring.

★☆☆☆☆

Oh no, no, no. This was just wrong. I like earl grey tea, but it didn't work with the rooibos. Don't do it.

During the fall and winter this is my go to breakfast tea. I love having a non caffeine version! To me it has a great early grey taste.

This is my favorite non-caffeinated tea! I love the fresh bergamot flavors mixing with the nutty rooibos. It’s such a pretty reddish color, too. This is a favorite of everyone who comes to our house.

Well, I’ve not tried an Earl from Adagio that I didn’t like! This one is slightly more fruity and bergamot sines through. It’s also less astringent and I’m guessing bc there’s no black tea here. Being caffeine free means I can enjoy late evening cup. Great job!

It might be unfair to compare Rooibos Earl Grey to Bonita and Lemon Cloud, but I'm going to do it anyway: Bonita and Lemon Cloud are better by miles. Unfortunately, Rooibos Earl Grey really reminds me of soap in both flavor and aroma.

A great option for caffeine free, nonetheless robust earl grey!

This one is great for an evening wind-down. It gives the classic Earl Grey flavor but with zero caffeine. I really enjoy this one!

★★★★★

Really good! I drank this during pregnancy when I was not having caffeine and I could not believe this wasn’t actually black tea! It is delicious and fragrant.

Love all of adagio earl greys (enjoyed sampler) so nice to have a caffeine free version to enjoy midday!!

My husband and I are big fans of both rooibos and Earl Grey, so we couldn’t resist trying this! The flavor is smooth and aromatic with just the right balance of earthy rooibos and bright bergamot. It’s become a new favourite!

This is my favorite rooibos tea. The scent is light, subdued and the flavor is similar to the aroma. I use a little honey to sweeten it.

★★★★★

I have come to the realization that I really don't like Earl Grey in general. I have tried all the black Earl Grey's Adagio sells and can't get through a cup. BUT Rooibos Earl Grey is becoming my go to evening sip. The bergamot is smoother, gentler and this tea is a delight after a long day!

In the bag: Close to the Adagio photo, but I have just a smidge fewer orange rinds.

On the nose (pre-steep): Bergamot with a touch of citrus. Mild intensity.

On the nose (post-steep): Same as pre-steep, but with just a hint of woodsy Rooibos.

On the tongue: Mild blend of bergamot and orange at the beginning of the sip, with Rooibos in the backnote and aftertaste.

Opinion: A pleasant take on the Earl. Rooibos instead of black tea gives the blend a lighter, less astringent texture while still delivering the classic flavors.

Preparation: 5 minutes for the first steep, 10 for the second. 212°F for both. ½ tsp of monk fruit sweetener.

Outstanding. This tea was my first from Adagio and remains a favorite. I keep the Large bag in the pantry

A very strong seen scent, but I'm glad I got it, makes a great home made London Fog

This is absolutely delicious. It is delightfully floral and I feel the flavors are nicely balanced. If you like rooibos and earl grey, and you want an uncaffeinated tea without a bunch of artificial flavors, try it :)

Definitely a staple tea for us. My spouse and I love Earl Grey and this is such a good option for when we don't want caffeine. It's subtle, good with a splash of milk or made into a foamy latte with some added sugar. Definitely recommend if you're a fan of Earl Grey!

★★★★☆

I really wanted to love this tea as I enjoy having a cup of tea before bedtime, I love Earl Grey, and this is caffeine free so I won't have trouble falling asleep. It's not at all bad, but seems to be missing something. Probably the more brisk flavor of black tea you generally find in Earl Grey.

I enjoyed this tea but I think the rooibos flavor was competing with the bergamot flavor, because it didn’t taste enough like earl grey to me. The bergamot flavor was too subtle for an earl grey, in my opinion. I would still get this tea again, I did enjoy it, (I bet it would be great cold as well) but I would still need another version to satisfy my desire for earl grey.

This is a nice herbal earl grey option, though I find the rooibos flavor can be on the stronger side. Brewed for 6 minutes with one packet of splenda.

The packet had a strong perfume aroma. Its taste though is more rooibos forward with bergamot in the background. I don’t tend to like earl grey but this one was quite good.

I liked this one. I felt like that woodsy natural sweetness that comes with rooibos and honeybush really blended well with the bergamot flavor. Bergamot is still by far the more prominent flavor in the cup, but not to the point of making others undetectable. The other thing the rooibos base added that traditional black earl greys don't have is that texture. It adds a nice almost creamy texture to the cup. My only complaint with this one comes from the cleanup of rooibos in the tea basket as it really sticks in that mesh. Good tea and glad I got to try it with the CT today. 212° 5 min

Jul 2nd, 2025: Excited to try this as a cold brew! You can definitely taste the rooibos base, immediately... and some acidity. I added a splash of simple syrup and all the flavors come together magically!

Oct 25th, 2023: I love a good Earl Grey, the roobios, instead of a black base makes it more citrus forward... the smell was incredible as it steeped. The taste is great, for a more subtle version of your classic Earl Grey.

The smell was the absolute best part of this tea. The taste was much lighter than expected but was great for a hot summer day.

As far as rooibos go, I am sure this is good, I am just not a fan of rooibos. I’ve tried hard to get on board, but I really struggle to enjoy it

Can only do rooibos w certain flavors and this isn’t one of them

I love earl grey, and I love rooibos tea, so this was a perfect match for me! The flavors mix together very well, it gives the earl grey a bit more of an earthy tone. I steeped it for longer than five minutes to bring out more of the flavor and I highly recommend doing so, as it doesn't make it bitter at all!

More of a lemony rooibos than earl grey, but I feel like my bias is towards earl grey with a good black tea base.

CommuniTEA sample: 5 min @ 212 F. Red rooibos can be very divisive. I don't mind it, but I do understand where people find it tastes medicinal, and sometimes it smells a little bit like olives to me. However, I think it works great as a black tea substitute, and generally I think that applies to this blend as well! I do think that the bergamot is very strong, probably too strong. I almost got like a peppermint kind of sensation, these weird spicy chills throughout my mouth from it. Other than that, it works as an Earl grey, I got 2 infusions out of it, and I added a scoop of vanilla ice cream to add some sweetness and richness, that worked really well with it!

My husband drinks this before bed on nights he wants to sleep deep. It helps him relax and turn off the day. Add a teaspoon of honey and it is good to go! I recommend biodegradable muslin tea bags for loose leaf, as the Rooibos is very fine and escapes mesh strainer balls.

A great non-caffinated blend. Not too strong but very subtle in the Earl Grey profile. Very nice cup for when I'm looking for my Earl Grey fix in the evenings.

A nice lower caffeine red tea with hints of bergamot - great when combined with a mild creamer or honey

This Earl Grey is smoother and more refreshing than traditional Earl Grey black teas. The Bergamot is slightly more subtle and the astringent flavor that comes along with black tea is gone because this is a Rooibos base tea. If you find traditional Earl Grey teas a little too sharp for your taste buds you should give this a try. If you really enjoy that flavor this may not be the tea for you.

It has the citrus flavor from classic earl grey, but lacks the kick from black tea.

I find this one very strong. The scent before brewing is very much earl grey, however after brewing I found it strong and soapy. I'll finish it, but it's slow going.

Excellent combination. I wasn't sure what to expect as I drink both Rooibos and Earl Gray, but together! Excellent blend.

I I liked it for a change of my normal favorites. I tried it hot and cold. I prefer it hot.

I really love an earl grey but am limited to how much I can drink in the day due to them typically being caffeinated. But mixed with Rooibos instead makes it drinkable anytime. Love it!

It was wayyyy too heavy on the citrus. I was sad because I like rooibos but the rooibos didn’t stand out at all

Roobios is one of my favorite teas and to see it with a decaf earl gray I had to try it. I enjoy this tea at night.
