Cinnamon apple scents rose up out of the packet as we opened it. The kettle heated up to 212°F to steep this rooibos herbal blend for 5 minutes. A nice cinnamon apple scented and red rooibos tisane was produced.
As we waited for our cups to cool, the cinnamon apple scents continued to waft up enticingly in the steam. Cinnamon and slightly sweet apple flavors were predominantly featured alongside the woody rooibos base. Oxidized rooibos flavors carried through to the finish, leaving a smooth yet herbal woody taste at the end. Compared to the large 16oz bag, our sample seemed to have less apples. As such, the apple flavors were light yet still present. However, we knew that full-strength batches of this one had been able to provide much more apple and cinnamon in each sip. Seems like sometimes each sample packet can be a bit misleading when some ingredients are lacking in the scoop. Adding some blueberry nectar honey brought out the apples a bit more.
Overall, this one's a nice zero-caffeine cinnamon apple option for those chilly fall nights. We're giving this one a rating based on our previous samplings, which contained plenty of apple pieces. If less apple pieces are to be seen, It's worth a try to use a smaller water to tea ratio to get the most flavor out of those apple flavor sponges.

Cinnamon apple cider-like flavor that pairs perfectly with the woody rooibos base. A bit of sweetener (sugar is my pref) helps brighten the fruit flavor.

I like rooibos. I like cinnamon apple. So I was excited to try this, but I ended up disappointed. All I tasted was rooibos- no flavor at all. It’s got to be bad luck on my part- others raved about the cinnamon apple flavor. It just seems to be missing from my package.

I love all rooibos teas. This one is perfect for fall, what a wonderful holiday aroma. Added a little sweetener.

Update: Pleasant apple cinnamon flavors. Steeped per directions. Rooibos is present, but not over-powering. I'd still love to have a stronger cinnamon flavor. :)
12/25/2020: The apple flavor definitely takes center stage in this tea, with (sadly) only a hint of cinnamon. I was hoping it would taste more like Republic of Tea's Hot Apple Cider, but I think the rooibos is too strong for that. (212° x 5 min)

I was hoping that the cinnamon and apple would be the flavors that finally make red rooibos smell and taste ok to me. Nope. If you like red rooibos then give this one a try but I'll give this one a pass.

The tea did not have the strong apple flavor I had hoped for. It had a great aroma in the package but when brewed, no specific flavor was the STAR! I added a bit of sugar and that helped make the tea more flavorful.

This tastes like warm apple cider. I do like red rooibos, just wish this one had a bit more cinnamon . It's easy to add more to this delicious cup.

I enjoyed this cup of tea for today's communitea sachet. Rooibos does come across on the medicinal side taste-wise. With the spice and light apple taste, this was pleasant for my morning. The lingering cinnamon aftertaste has been delightful.

This is a pretty straightforward apple and cinnamon rooibos and tastes as expected - like a weak, unsweet spiced apple cider. I enjoyed it, but it is not something I would seek out.

Sipping along with the CommuniTEA: Strong apple cinnamon scents from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 5 mins at 212°F, I notice an oaty, wheaty fragrance with cinnamon on the nose of my cup. When I take a sip, strong cinnamon apple with medicinal rooibos flavors. As it cools, more strong almost apple flavors develop and the rooibos becomes the toasted crust making this tea reminiscent of apple crisp.

I tend to be on the fence when it comes to (red) rooibos teas. That being said, the apple and cinnamon really came through and made for an ok cup. If you like apple cinnamon AND rooibos, I think this is worth a try! Just not my cuppa tea.

I really wanted to like this tea, but it tastes like weak apple cider to me. Don't get me wrong - I love cider, but this tea just doesn't do it for me. 🥺

This is a really nice fall tea (brew and drink while Apple picking). The roobios base doesn't over power the cinnamon and apple flavor. To me this tastes like a non calorie apple cider drink. On the next brew I will add a little honey or rock sugar to enhance the brew.

I made it through two sips, so I'm giving two stars. It's me, it's not you! I'm sure it's delicious for the rooibos lovers out there. For me, there's something about red rooibos that turns my stomach, quite literally. It makes me nauseous if I drink it. And I'm not a fan of spongy little apple pieces in my tea. Seeing them freaks me out. Sorry CommuniTea peeps!

This is a fantastic use of Rooibos (which I can find overpoweringly earthy at times). The apple flavor really comes through and the cinnamon sits nicely in the background without trying to be the leading player.

Who can say no to apple pie in a cup? NOT ME! This one is truly delicious. I love how the earthiness of the rooibos matches with the cinnamon and apple flavors. This is a fall delight I plan to keep stocked all season long! I definitely think it needs some sweetener to bring out all the desserty goodness. This one is a hit with me! Happy Sipping!

This flavored woody rooibos was at its best for me, with a splash of milk and a dollop of cinnamon honey. The milk and honey adds helped tame the woody taste and tease out more of the delicious sweet apple and spicy cinnamon flavors. The tea became more dessert-like and tastier this way.
My CT packet had 3 g/ 2 tsp of red rooibos with a few apple pieces and small bits of cinnamon that blended in well with the red tea leaves. I brewed at 212*F for 5 min. to make 14 oz. of reddish brown liquor that had a woody taste upon the first sip. The milk and honey adds helped balance this earthy flavor with the cinnamon apple one. A resteep of 7 oz. was enjoyable, prepared the same way but was milder in flavor. This was a nice evening sip and would be good in a blend with another flavored rooibos or honeybush tea like vanilla, caramel or chai. If you’re a rooibos fan, this is a good one to try.

Nice apple aroma while steeping. Woody, earthy flavors that you would expect from a rooibos. The cinnamon does balance out these flavors that can easily overpower a blend. There are some nice apple aromas, but the other strong flavors overpower the apple taste a bit. It is there, but subtle. Added a bit of honey for rooibos and this did improve the overall flavor. Did not try with cream, but may be good. Steeped at 212º for 5 mins. Happy fall everyone! Cheers!

24 Sep 2020 review: Cinnamon apple cider aromas were noted upon opening the CommuniTEA packet this morning. When hot, I was presented with pleasant hot apple cider flavors and aromas. This stuff is the “real deal” minus the cloudiness of real apple cider. Also noted were some mild sour notes of an authentic cider. I added sugar to help bring out the apple flavors even more and lower any woodsy notes from the rooibos. You have to like apple cider to appreciate this one, and I do. I can see where some folks might think this blend tastes like apple pie, but i don’t drink apple pie. Thanks for a really nice autumn sip! (5 mins @ 200ºF, 1/2 tsp sugar)

I'm so sad to say that I don't enjoy rooibos like I once did, and the strong rooibos flavor isn't something I prefer in this tea! The apple and cinnamon are a good taste, but they're second to the rooibos.

If you're expecting the zingy Red Hots kind of flavor you might associate with the cinnamon-apple combo or even with holiday cider you've come to the wrong place! However it does brew up with a pleasant, light flavor on top of the rooibos.
