very almond, more so than cardamom. wish there was more cardamom, but overall this is a great dessert tea
The richness of toasted almond is decadent and soul-affirming, balanced lovingly by the perky, uplifting notes of cardamom and a touch of sweet cinnamon in our caffeine-free rooibos.

very almond, more so than cardamom. wish there was more cardamom, but overall this is a great dessert tea
This one was nice to curb my sweet tooth … I don’t always want “natural flavors” in a tea but a cup of this scratches the itch for something sweet and it really does smell like cake.
Lovely!!! This brewed well hot and cold for a nice dessert tea! add area and sugar or drink as is! Delightful!!
I really liked the idea behind this one, but for some reason, (and I have steeped it up for two sessions now), I am tasting lavender and only lavender? And there should be no lavender here. And I am all for a good lavender tea, but not when I was expecting something entirely different. So I don't really have much else to say here...
Steep #1 // 1 teaspoon for a full mug // 15 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // many minute steep
Just alright. Not great, not bad, just meh. I may reccomend this for people just dipping their toes into loose leaf teas.
at first I thought the tea smelled a bit musty, but decided to give it a shot. once i let it steep it felt like a whole tea. the flavor is warm and cozy with a good hit of spice.
I'm not a big fan of this blend, but it's not bad tasting at all. It's just not my personal cup of tea. 😉
Tastes like it says on the tin. Just delicious. I brew with a little sugar after dinner, and it's just like dessert!
Absolutely love this blend! It has a nice almond flavor and the cardamom isn’t overpowering but adds the perfect amount of depth.
First time trying a cardamom tea. It wasn't that it was bad quality, but the flavor of it wasn't for me.
This came in last years and the year before Advent calendar and is really really good! It's one of my favorites now! I love the flavors!!
I wanted to like this one but it's not good. The smell in the bag is a bunch of jumbled flavors that aren't mixing well together and the taste is also just odd. It isn't very pleasant.
I found the red roobios very pronounced and medicinal in this tea. I think I'm just not a red roobios fan, so that's a personal preference thing.
Absolutely love this one. Definitely strong on the cardamom so if you don't like carsamom.. but I do. It's yummy
Nice flavor - decent evening tea. Good for winding down after a long day - not overpowering with the flavors
Strong smell for sure but not too overpowering of a flavor. Add a little half and half and you got yourself a smooth creamy warm drink to sit on the couch with
Bought for expectant friend who needed to cut back on caffeine but is an avid tea drinker. She really enjoyed it.
This tea is Pretty good, it is tasty and spicy and a little bit sweet. The aroma throws me off tho, it smells like a sweet breakfast sausage while steeping lol
Delicious dessert tea! Reminds me of
Sipping a cake!
It could have a stronger almond flavor, but overall, this is a lovely tea. Definitely needs a splash or two of cream or milk.
I was scared to try this one since I've heard people say roobios has an unpleasant medical taste and off the start I wasn't a fan of the smell. Once I steeped it and added milk and sugar it was actually quite pleasant, I can understand what people mean a little by 'medical taste' before you add anything but once I added milk and sugar it was quite delicious. Very almondy and cinnamony, you can also taste the cardamom quite well. I also tried to mix this one with honeybush pumpkin spice chai and it was great. But on its own I enjoyed it too!
A wonderful tea for anyone who loves the taste of Cardamom one of my new favorites and will be buying again anytime i get low
This was a good tea. The almond flavor stood out the most. I added too much sugar so I will try it again with less. A and M really liked it.
Not enough cardamom but good almond flavor. Better with a touch of milk to add some creaminess to the almond
The almond is way too strong for me. I love cardamom, and I could hardly taste it over the potent almond. It's a powerful flavor (and scent--my kitchen smelled like this tea for hours even after I'd finished and cleaned the cup I made!) that was good for a cup, but I don't know if I could drink more than that.
This was a delicious blend, perfect for cold cozy evenings
This is a wonderful tea to drink on winter evenings. The cinnamon and cardamom give it a zesty vibe, and it feels so warm and cozy going down. I can also taste the almond. Tastes great with biscotti, especially nutty biscotti.
Loved this tea, I swear they never disappoint, a must try!
I wanted so much to love this; the combo of almond and spice sounded delightful. Alas, it doesn't live up to my hopes. The almond is so subtle it's hard to find and the cardamom fades quickly. The primary flavor here is the woody, almost sour flavor of the rooibos, when it should be more of a restrained platform for the other flavors. This flavor combo would work better with an oolong base. Don't know that I would get this again.
I’m starting to think that rooibos isn’t one of my favorite teas. In some blends it is better than others, and this one isn’t bad, but it won’t be on my favorite list! The almond flavoring is a bit strong and artificial tasting.
I am not usually a fan of roobios but I do enjoy this blend. A balanced blend of almond and cardamom, nice substitute for dessert.
I thought I would love this because I like both almond and cardamom, but this came off like strong perfume. I threw the rest of it away.
Another favorite of my husband’s. He loves nutty herbal teas and enjoys this one. The taste was different from the smell, in a good way.
If you like rooibos, this one’s a winner.
It’s perfect with cream after dinner.
When I add almond milk, it tastes smooth as silk,
I can’t believe I’m still getting thinner!
(I am on a strict diet and this is as close to dessert as I get, and it is AMAZING!!!)
My new favorite!! Such a comforting tea and perfect for fall
Nice mild almond flavor. I enjoy making tea lattes with this flavor.
I liked the complexity and contrast of this blend. I can see why many find the combination of rooibos and cardamom as clashing, and I definitely wouldn’t describe it as harmonious or comforting. But I personally found the taste very layered and intriguing.
I like this blend, the added spices make the rooibos palatable, and almost remind me of an apple pie, without the apple!
So good! It was really nutty on the first sip which was refreshing and it even had a little kick at the end. Perhaps the cardamom could be. Bit stronger but it was a nice cup of tea
I'm a certified rooibos fiend, so take that into account when reading this review. It was a slam dunk for me. This is such a complex and unique flavor profile that is energizing and soothing all in one. When I first opened the bag I was immediately blown away by the scent of this one, and it brewed up to taste almost exactly like it smelled. If you give it a whiff and don't care for it you almost certainly won't like the flavor. But if you're like me and wishing you could bottle that scent, you're in luck!
Smelled very nicely of cardamom. It was herbal with a pleasant almond flavor, like marzipan, with warm notes. It tasted like a dessert without being too sweet.
I really enjoyed this tea! The lemon-y flavor of the cardamom and the cinnamon both stood up well to the honey flavor of the red rooibos to make a wonderful , rich cup of hot tea.
If you prefer your chai to be on the mild side, with a heavier focus on the rooibos tang, and underlying notes of almond and cardamom, this tea would very likely meet all of your criteria. There is a delicate nutty undertone and the cardamom imparts a warm richness to the tea - at least, they did once I had added some unsweetened almond milk to the blend. Beforehand, the primary note that came through was just the rooibos. Though some have denoted the tea as having a spicy quality - and the aromatics could suggest as much - the 'spice' in question is in the same vein as cinnamon or curry, in that it is in warmth and not heat. Even then, the warming qualities are mild. None of this makes the tea displeasurable in the least, but it does make for a much milder cup of tea than typically comes to mind when I think of a classic masala chai in comparison. With a splash of a vanilla sweetener or honey, this tea most certainly could be comparable to a coffee cake of sorts, and so I have to commend it on fulfilling that requirement. And if all you need is a mellow, warm drink to soothe at the end of the night, this could definitely do the trick. Personally, though, I think this blend makes for a better canvas than it does final piece, and I look forward to trying it in more complex blends moving forward.
This tea was good and definitely an interesting flavor. The rooibos gave its usual woodsy kind of vanilla base and worked well with the cinnamon and cardamom. The almond was almost just a nutty flavor in the background to me and in the aroma and less of an amaretto sweet type that usually go for. All of these flavors together mixed and reminded me of the sweet spiced roasted almonds you get at Renaissance faire type events. I drank this tea hot and nothing added. This was a good tea and I enjoyed it, but it is one I am more inclined to sample in CT and not keep on hand. 212° 5 min
Almost gave this two stars. It just didn't seem to have much flavor. I finished the cup, but I would not seek it out again.
I've always loves rooibos so it's hard for me to find a blend with it that I dont enjoy. This one is not it; I find the taste of rooibos pairs nicely with the warning spices and almond sweetness. My only criticism would be that I wish there was just slightly more almond flavor.
CommuniTEA sample: 5 min @ 212 F. When I opened up the portion, I was overwhelmed by a strange, savory aroma. I know sometimes people say that red rooibos tastes kind of like black olives, I could smell that, and mixed with the cardamom, I was not happy. Luckily, that aroma dissipated after I actually brewed the cup. I did find it strangely tart, in a fruity way that I didn't expect. The cardamom was very strong, I had at least two full pods in my leaves, which might be more than normal. I could feel a lot of tingling spice from that and the cinnamon on my tongue, and I felt it a little bit overpowering. Couldn't really taste much else, especially in the second cup.
I really disliked this tea. I would not call this almond...more like extremely funky perfume candle that you cant really identify as anything but "sweet spice" maybe? It was revolting!
It tasted artificially flavored and sweetened. I tried it hot and iced, but it really wasn’t for me.
One of my favorite teas from Adagio. It's a delicious blend of almond flavor with spice and sweetness.
