I really thought this tea was going to be stronger with more of a punch since it is a puerh tea, but it turned out to be kind of bland to me. It had a distant earthy like vegetal quality to it that wasn't unpleasant but wasn't really unique either. And those types of greens usually aren't my cup of tea. I'm glad I got to experience this one though.

I’ve had a bag of this for long enough that I forgot if I bought it, was gifted it, or got it as a freebie. I also hadn’t reviewed it yet, but I swear I’ve tasted it before . Upon opening the fresh green scent was very strong. I’m a big puerh fan but not always a green tea fan, and wasn’t sure how I’d like it. I decided to weigh my tea as the leaves are so large and twisted. I used 3 grams for my communitea cup. I steeped at 180° for 4.5 minutes. I hadn’t intended to steep so long so after a few hot sips, I poured it over ice. I very much enjoyed the flavor. It was smooth, only slightly vegetal, a touch green, and a tiny bit earthy. It reminded me of matcha, nice and bright. I didn’t get the apricot notes, maybe I will next time when I try it gong fu style. I’m glad I had a bag of this because I’m looking forward to trying this one in different ways. I would definitely buy it for my stash.

This was a lovely green tea that I steeped 3 times and enjoyed the pale, yet complex liquor very much. I agree with other reviewers that the second steep tasted the best. I steeped at 175 degrees for 3 minutes the first time and then 1-1/2 minutes for subsequent steeps. No additions needed.

This tea is an interesting mix of earthy and green. A bit too earthy for my preference but appreciate trying this unique tea though Communitea.

This tea has the flavor of a mild green tea, without the grassiness many green teas have. I am not a big fan of pu'erh teas, but this one is very enjoyable.

I did not find this tea to my liking. I brewed it at 180 and steeped it for 3 minutes, then let it sit for a couple more minutes. What I tasted was a fairly bland, earthy taste, such as you expect from a pu-erh blend, but I couldn’t detect any apricot or pear flavors. Also, I got a moderate, grassy taste at the end of the sip, and I’m not fond of grassy teas. Perhaps it was just my packet didn’t have an accurate representation of all elements, or maybe it’s just personal preference doesn’t include this kind of tea. Perhaps a cup from a sample pouch would allow a better opportunity to evaluate it.

Such a light and mellow flavor! Not at all grassy or overpowering. Very tasty.

grassy and slightly sweet a very nice green tea to sip whilst I paint my Easter nails. I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTea April 2023 box.

Unpleasantly astringent with a bitter aftertaste. Not for me!

I really enjoyed todays communiTEA. I noted the green and apricot in the flavor. I have never done gaiwan style brewing. That is something I may need to dive into next for teas like this.

A quality green Pu-erth that has an earthy flavor. I prefer the less earthy 'ancient tree green pu-erh'

I really enjoyed the flavor of this tea--a nice earthy, grassy flavor while also being light and fragrant. I would definitely order more of this.

There is a grassy and slightly sweet aroma coming from the CommuniTEA packet, with no fishy smell. This steeps into a pale light yellow tea. No fishy flavor, but a lovely fresh green taste with the hints of sweet chai spices. This is a fabulous Pu-erh blend: so very tasty and one I can drink all day (except for the high caffeine). What a delicious tea, and not at all bitter. The finish zings much like cinnamon does in a chai, so it beckons me to drink more. It steeps well over and over again. This delectable tea proves there is something special about tea leaves from ancient trees. This has become a new favorite, especially considering all the health benefits of Pu-erh. (3 mins@180ºF).

8oz purified water @180 for 5mins in electric kettle. CommuniTea pouch
The dry tea smells strongly of hay! Definitely the strongest hay scent I have experienced from any tea (so far).
The scent of the steeped tea does still smell like hay, but also has that traditional green tea scent accompanying it.
The taste is slightly astringent, but nothing anyone can't handle! The 'apricot' notes take quite a while to notice, almost 30 secs to a full minute.
Overall a good green tea! However there isn't too much that is noteworthy about this one to make it stand out from the rest.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this tea. Pu-erhs are hit or miss for me. I do enjoy simple green tea. I found this tea to be earthy yet still had the feel and taste of a great green tea. Steeped it many times too!

I have been trying to drink more pu erh but I am still picky about how much earth I can tolerate. This tea tastes like a robust green tea without too much earth. Delicious.

I had high expectations for this teas as I have loved every other Pu-erh I have tried. I really didn't like it. Tried to finish it thinking that the taste would change as it cooled. It tasted slightly fragrant but weird. It had almost a fishy aroma. Tipped the rest down the drain. Not for me.

Out of the packet it didn't smell too bad, earthy and fresh. After brewing, it tasted like steeped seaweed paper without the salt. Definitely not a fan.

This is a really fresh, green tea. The flavor is pleasant and smooth with faint juicy notes of apricot.

This is a very pleasant tea. It has earthy tones which I like in green tea. It also has a fruity taste. I can't say it's grape or apricot (still learning to taste the different essences in tea), but it's tasty.

This is a nice, mild green pu erh. It didn't wow me, or make me desire a second cup, but it was decent. It definitely has a bit of grassiness, and I tasted a small amount of floral in the cup. It's a pleasant light tea for a rainy spring day.

I was expecting more from this tea as I am a green and puerh fan, but it just didn’t WOW me. It tasted like a basic green tea that didn’t have a huge amount of back notes or extra flavors. The main descriptors that came to mind as I sipped were “earthy” and “rich”. It has a very smooth mouthfeel and deep vegetal taste. I guess I just prefer the more seaweed green notes of a sencha or gyokuro. This green was a bit too dark and flat in taste to me. However, I’m glad I got to try this odd little hybrid brew! Happy Sipping!

I get green pear and light vegetal taste. Not offensive but this suffers the same way a lot of white teas do for me...just not enough overall flavor. Drinkable but there are so many better options.

Sitting in the woods
The sun peeking through the leaves
Dappled sunlight shines
I feel the soft moss
A cooling dampness rises
Greeting the sun’s rays
Surrounded by earth
Embraced by vegetation
Feeling connected
I hold my tea cup
Breathing deep, it’s leafy notes

In the bag: Long, thin, slightly twisted tea leaves. They range in color from dark green to a green-brown. Some breakdown occurred in transit.
On the nose (pre-steep): Mild vegetal aroma with accents of white grapes. Not intense. Musty nose feel.
On the nose (post-steep): Same mild vegetal aroma, but with a grassy accent. Medium intensity. Cleaner nose feel.
On the tongue: As with the scent, mild vegetal flavor with hints of grass. Medium intensity. Only a touch of astringency.
Opinion: A decent yet forgettable tea. Easy enough to drink, but overly simple. The mild grassy flavor isn't a favorite.
Preparation: First steep 3 min, second steep 6 min. Both @ 175 ℉. No sweetener.

UPDATED: Today's CommuniTEA is Pu-erh Wuliang Green (4-7-23). Upon opening my packet, I had a good amount of tea. I brewed it hot with some milk thistle and green tea honey. It was pleasantly sweet and a great way to start the day! As a result, I have updated my review to 3 stars (I originally gave it 1 star). Perhaps I had a bad bag the 1st time. I enjoyed this tea today and, based on today's brew, I would recommend it!
ORIGINAL: This is pungent!!! To me, it tastes like a jasmine tea and I really do not like jasmine. I tried adding extra rock sugar and everything but it was just so overwhelmingly strong. I don't think I'll be getting this tea again.

I wish I had something more profound to say, but this tea just didn't do anything for me. It wasn't offensive, there's nothing I dislike specifically, it was just there. Out of the whole lineup of Adagio teas, it wouldn't be my last choice, but it wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list, either.
Steeped 3 min @ 180-ishº

This tea brews up, repeatedly, into a very smooth and soft cup. It has a very green flavor, more so than a pu erh vibe. It's a little too astringent for me on the finish, but still a really nice cup of tea.

This was my first pu-erh and I really wish I got a sample of it. I brewed it how adagio said, and it had almost no flavor at all. I could kind of make out the earthy flavors pu erh is supposedly known for but it was a struggle. Maybe I got a bad batch or something or maybe it’s because it’s a green tea idk. Just really didn’t do it for me.
