A great tea that has a great scent and bold flavor.

A great tea that has a great scent and bold flavor.
A bit intense - I like to blend it with a mellower black or a cream tea and latte it. But the flavors are rich and delicious.
Smooth tea. If you like cinnamon you will really like this. I'm not a fan of cinnamon, so that's why it didn't get 5 stars from me
This is yummy. The spice flavors are the perfect balance of spice and sweet.
The dry tea smelled overly pungent: soapy, like those artificial scented pinecones found at craft stores + low quality orange candles. But it gave me the impression that the actual tea itself would be bold in flavor. Freshly brewed, it doesn't seem nearly as artificial anymore; the scent has a real bite between the cinnamon, star anise, and ginger.
This tea is odd. It has a very strong, lubricating mouthfeel that has a flavor of its own, but that results in an experience where it's like I have sweet water and a spice blend in my mouth at the same time, but the flavors don't mix together at all. The anise blends very oddly with the ginger so it became like a vaguely bitter, 'I know there's spices there because I can feel spiciness' thing. There's some cinnamon in the aftertaste, though. As it cools, the bitter bite is just way too much if the tea is drunk straight.
It became drinkable with both milk and sugar added, and I think that it'd actually be pretty popular this way, but spiced sweet drinks ain't my thing.
Brewed at the suggested 5mins, I was surprised at how much I liked it. Well balanced and spicy, didn’t even need the half n half I added halfway through the cup.
I was looking forward to a nice spice tea. I am in the mood for fall. It may have been because this was a CommuniTea bag but I did not taste any spice. I tasted lots of orange. If I had not read the name of this tea, I would have sworn it was an orange tea. As an oragne tea this was very delicious
Fantastic fall tea. The spices blend well together so that no single flavor stands out more than another. I didn't rinse before brewing.
Pleasantly surprised. Did not think I would like the anise, but it is subtle enough to not overwhelm the rest of the flavors.
This is a great fall Pu-Erh. I am a fan of chai lattes but when I want a lighter easy cup that isn’t quite as spice but still has the fall aroma - I love this!
This tea isn’t my favorite, but that is probably because i’m not a huge fan of anise.
I liked this one because it didn't taste as fungal as some pu-erh teas do, though the fungal smell was definitely there. The spice flavor is light but pleasant.
So yummy and spicy. Great with milk and sweetner!
This is a great tea!!! I love pu-ehr, and the addition of spice is perfect!!
One of the more mild spiced teas I have been trying, I love it. It’s smooth, balanced and comforting. Definitely a tea to savor.
I love the cinnamon and the warm spice in this tea.
I am one of the weird people that loves anise so this tea makes me happy. I usually drink spiced teas with half & half and a sweetener, but this did not need it. It's a fantastic balance of spices with the earthiness of puerh. The hint of orange gives it a bit of sweetness. I really like that there are not any cloves in this, as I usually find cloves overpower other spices. I definitely plan on ordering a bag after trying the Communitea sample!
Just okay for me. Others reccomended doing a 15 sec hot rinlse of the leaves before commiting to steeping. A horrible fish smell was the result. Steeped 5mins 212 degrees. It was autumn spice assertive, but too strong. I diluted it with water, and mellowed it down with some honey and cream. I have other autumn spicy teas i like better without a fish smell. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA October box.
Fun rich tea. Steeping time can depend on how much spice you want out of the tea. Longer steep more spice.
First time trying a pu-erh! Very interesting profile that I'll need a few more brews to get use to but certainly a good cup. (communiTEA)
The taste of anise with the smell of orange and cinnamon. 5⭐️
I'm somewhat a newbie to drinking pu-erh teas, but it's quickly becoming one of my favorites. The fall spices made for a delicious blend in this one.
I've learned I should do a 15 second rinse in steep temp water for pu-erh, which I did. The rinse water DID smell a little low tide, so I tossed it, and then brewed the leaves. The dry and brewed aroma was of warm leather, anise, orange, cinnamon, and a general woodsy/earthy note, and I tasted all of those in the brewed tea, too. The tea was dark, rich, smooth, with zero astringency and the spice wasn't over the top. This tea gave me a pleasant nostalgia type feeling. I think my CommuniTEA packet my have had a little extra anise (fine with me!!) because when it cooled, the tea reminded me of ouzo! I love ouzo, and can only drink alcohol very rarely these days so that was a plus for me. Sounds like other reviewers had a gentler anise level, though. I enjoyed this cup first unsweetened and then with honey. I liked this brewed a little extra strong and the second steep was lovely, too.
This was a delightful pu-erh! Perfect spice for a crisp fall day!
Very nice autumn tea! I found it to be very smooth, not bitter at all. The orange is very aromatic before steeping and then gets a little lost, however the spices are blended very well. If you like spiced tea, give it a try!
Nice mellow typical spice blend. The Pu er makes the tea more mellow.
This was nice, but I found it a better mixed into other teas I had than on its own. I think its a prime base for blends.
Tastes like the feeling of crunching leaves under your toes. It’s nicely spicy but not cinnamon dominant, and the base tea adds a nice earthy element to the blend. I agree, perfect for a chilly day! 5mins at 212°F
Nice cinnamon spice taste. Didn't mean to drink it all as I wanted to try some cold, but it went fast. I drank it without sugar and it had a sweetness of its own.
When I first smelled this, I thought WOW, oranges! Forever, once brewed, the citrus is a lot more subtle and the cinnamon is a lot stronger
This tea is highly spices a delicious. I rinsed the tea briefly before brewing because it was recommended to me to do so with pu-erh teas. I didn't think this tea needed to be sweetened at all.
This was my first experience with pu-erh and i am pleasantly surprised by how much I’m enjoying it. The earthy tones are mild, and soft, not bitter like black tea can be. The cinnamon and spice are delicious, with just a hint of orange. Absolutely a must for autumn and winter!!
What a perfectly blended tea! This well-balanced cup has just the right amount of spice. Perfect for a cool Fall morning. (5 min @ 212°F)
This tea reminds me of a holiday spice tea I used to get from Teavana (RIP). Great at first, but more clove and anise than I’d like, so there’s no way I’d drink a whole tin of it without some heavy blending.
Oooh, I love a good pu-erh tea, and this one is right up there! I really can't say enough good things about this tea blend. I gave the leaves a 15-second rinse and tasted the rinse water out of curiosity; after detecting no fishy flavors, I filled the cup the rest of the way with more boiling water, popped the lid on, and wandered off for a few minutes. The resulting liquid is rich and a little dry unsweetened, and with cream and sweetener, turns into a dark, smooth cup of spicy perfection. I could genuinely take this one either way. UPDATE: Based on my previous experience with this tea, I steeped the packet I got in the communiTEA straight without a rinse. It was as good as the sample in my stash - no off flavors detectable from the pu-erh. I drank this cup with 2 drops of EZ-Sweetz and no cream.
This took me by surprise! I'm usually pretty hesitant to try pu-erh teas due to their usually earthy/musty flavors. However, this blend of pu-erh tea with spices was perfect! The spices masked any strong pu-erh flavors and made this into a lovely cold-weather tea that tastes reminiscent of a rich chai.
Perhaps iit's autumn and the changing weather, but lately the spicey teas are really enjoyable. This is a very MORE=ish tea:)
Ahh!! I have never tried a pur eh before, and this was delicious! Nice and spicy, like autumn in a nice cozy cup. The little hints of orange really set it apart from other spiced teas. I like it so much that I will probably be purchasing it outside of Communitea.
Like it! I'm not crazy about spicy teas but this was so mild. I did a 15 second rinse and crossed my fingers I would enjoy this tea. I did!
This drink had a really nice spice flavor. It also had an earthy smell, but it wasn't unpleasant and didn't taste that way at all.
I hate anise.
This tea is drinkable because it is well blended. But it tastes like a nonsweet spicy black jellybeam
This is awesome. I love the spice blend, not overpowering, not too weak. And this overall is really just enjoyable. This is going on my need to buy list.
New to pu-erh teas, but I like them in blends. The spice is almost nostalgic for me, like drinking the anise cookies my aunt used to make, or maybe gingerbread. Very good tea.
Mmm... spicy! Rather like a chai, but heavier on the warm spice and lighter on the sweet.
A nice mellow spice flavor that complements the pu erh. I personally prefer a solid chai to this, but it's still good!
I find I really enjoy pu-erh teas a lot. They often have such a wonderful rich but soft and earthy flavor. I've had the pu-erh spice in blends that I've enjoyed and am thrilled to find I love it on its own as well. I'm thankful that the anise is subtle as it is a flavor I'm not terribly fond of, but here it adds to the taste rather than overpowering it. This particular spice blend makes me think of Christmas and winter holidays. I can definitely see curling up with a cup of this on a snowy day.
I haven't met a pu-erh that I didn't like and this is no exception. On a cold windy morning the orange...cinnamon..and spices combine for a rich satisfying start to your day!
Ok spice tea. I had it with milk and maple syrup and it was decent
This is an excellent spice tea made only better by adding some honey. Cinnamon, ginger and a touch of anise blend well with the pu-erh tea for a good cup of warmth.
I’m loving all the Pu-erh teas. Very new to this lot... but loving them all
