This is earthy, mysterious, bold and mineral heavy...just what you want in a perfect full bodied Pu-Erh! I am a giant Pu-Erh fan and this classic can't be beat! It's a tea that you can feel doing good things for you with each sip!
A rare aged, fermented tea from Yunnan, China, pu'erh stands apart with its uncommonly soft earthy flavor and woodsy tones. Clean, damp forest aroma, dried mushrooms, leather, and earth. A slight sweetness of figs or dates yields a mellow, grounding cup.

My first experience with pu-erh tea! The smell had me a little nervous, (reminiscent of a horse barn) but the flavor was rich and smooth.
Delicious strong pu-erh tea with a good punch of caffeine
I've always been a fan of Pu-Erh tea and so happy to be purchasing this tea here. It is earthy, smooth, and heartwarming. It's traditionally not drunken with any cream, milk, or sugar, but for my preferences I like it equally by itself or with milk, like Assam tea.
I like this weird dirty tasting tea. It's like chewing on leather or sniffing potting soil, but pleasant. Haha
Oh my beloved pu-erh dante. The taste of a wet log on fire. Deep, earthy, full-bodied. I mix in some lavender flowers most times I drink it- it helps the heaviness of the tea feel less overwhelming.
Loved this tea. Goes well with or without cream. I use honey as a sweetner and is so very good. My tea friends love this tea with cranberry orange scones..
A solid example of a pu-erh. And a great beginning version. Simple to use because it isn't compressed into a cake. Brews up that classic dark pu-erh color, with the bold, low tannin flavor i expect from my pu-erh tea.
Pu-Erh Dante is my first experience with a Pu-erh tea! It was lovely. It's an earthy, thick dark brew with zero astringency.. Very drinkable.
I generally like Pu-Erh teas very much. This one really tastes like sandalwood to me so it's not my favorite and I don't think I'd buy it again. I will drink it all though.
I accidentally steeped this at a lower temperature, 170° for three minutes. Despite the tea smelling fishy before I brewed it, I enjoyed it; it was mellow and relaxing. I would happily have this tea again.
170* for 3 minutes
Man describing this one is rough. So words that come to mind are earthy, loam, mushroom broth, maybe even a little hay and there is some fishy flavor in there. I have had worse teas with the fish flavor that I cannot drink this one wasn't bad though. I find all pu-erh teas to be the epitome of earthy flavors. I did finish my cup and added nothing, but I know this is part of one of my favorite blends 'Dark Side of Bella Luna' and I really do think it works phenomenally better when other elements are added to this earthy base. A huge benefit is when you add things to it you can really let it steep and pull flavors out as this one just does not get bitter or astringent and has great consistency over steep times. Probably wouldn't buy this one for solo drinking, but could see keeping it around for blend experimenting. 212° 3 min
a great, rich, flavorful tea!
I enjoyed the first round throughly.
a second steep brought out more earthiness.
A nice and mild earthy cup, 212 for 3 minutes, I think some extra steep time, maybe 5 minutes, would bring out some more flavor as mine was a bit on the mild side
not a pu-erh lady i'm afraid. what is 'earthy' just tastes 'off' to me.
The moment I opened the package I was hit with the smokiness of the tea. It was really smooth as well with a definite warmth.
Strong, smooth, black tea. Love that it doesn't get bitter. Nice to be able to 'set it and forget it' once in awhile during the brew process!
While more palatable on the tongue than pu-erh poe, this pu-erh offering from Adagio is still challenging for me. Even after a 20 second rinse, I struggled to get past the fishy aroma. The brew itself is exceptionally smooth, but also somewhat flat. It is earthy, but other than the fishy scent, I don't get much from it. Compared to pu-erh poe, that's a plus, but unfortunately, the scent is just a little too much for me That said, I'm not much of one for plain pu-erh anyway. (3 minutes @ 212F after 20 second rinse)
I like how this tea is strong and smooth, with a light fruity flavor. Brewed for 6 minutes with a packet of Splenda.
CommuniTEA sample: brief rinse, first cup for 1 min, second cup for 2 min, third cup for 3 min, etc. for five cups. A lovely ripe Pu-Erh, though don't let the earthy, funky aroma catch you off guard! Very deep, earthy flavors that remind me of a nice savory mushroom broth with some rice notes to it as well. A hint of spice and fruity sweetness towards the back. It's a very full-bodied, thick tea that clings to the palate in a lovely way.
This is a nice earthy tea. It brews up dark, it's smooth and there's no bitterness.
What a strange tea...
When I took the first sips, I couldn't taste ANYTHING except a slight fishiness (I could see how it might rub some people the wrong way, but I didn't mind it). As I kept sipping, I gradually tasted some earthiness, but the unbelievable smoothness and lack of astringency in this tea almost makes it totally neutral to my palate. I did not pick up any notes of sweetness, cocoa, dates, or cream until it had steeped for a good long while and even then, it was very mild. I was really stuck between giving this 3 or 4 stars, but since it is something I would likely drink again just because of how neutral it is, I'll stick with 4 stars.
No bitterness which is my favorite thing about pu-erh. It has a unique earthy flavor that’s bold, yet toasty and warm. Cheers!
Walking through the woods
Dancing with the woodland nymphs
Barefoot in the moss
The richness of loam
The lushness of the fall breeze
All are in my tea
(Haiku Review)
Strong, earthy, and bold, whoa, this tea means buisness. I preferred it with honey and creamer, but this cup is an entire mood!
Yummy earthy flavor. Contains antioxidants. I'm not a super foodie when it comes to tea. I just pour boiling water over, wait a few & pour in a splash of milk.
This just wasn’t really the style for me. There’s a strong fishy flavor that I wasn’t able to wash out. I didn’t mind the flavor but it isn’t my favorite either.
Bold, earthy, and comforting. A cold day with a warm cup of pu-erh Dante is simply lovely.
Wow! This is full of funk! I definitely get a fishiness in the aroma and taste of this tea. This has a very creamy, full, and smooth texture in the mouth. The liquor is very dark and welcoming. I really like this tea. This tastes like someone buried the tea in a forest for a few years. I am glad I picked this one for my first foray into Adagio pu-erh tea.
I've gotten to love the Pu-Erh teas lately. They're mellow and not bitter, and can deal with a light or heavy amount of steeping. This is a very nice tea that doesn't need to be baby-sat. Reliable and delicious.
This tea is my go to in the morning, every morning. Love the deep color, the earthy flavor. I can get 2-3 steeps out of a serving and even on the 3rd steep, the tea still retains the earthiness albeit a bit milder.
Well-rounded and not too earthy, this tea is one of my favorites when I need a kick of caffeine but want to avoid coffee.
Smooth, very much enjoying this as a winter pick me up. Also, blending with scented black teas where I want to bring the flavor down a bit, it blends seamlessly.
Accidentally left it over steep waaaay too long, and it was totally fine!
I really love a good pu-erh tea and this is definitely one of them. It’s not flavored like some so you can really appreciate the earthy goodness of the tea. It also blends beautifully with others and adds a richness to the aroma and flavor. I’ve never had a problem with this kind of pu-erh having a fishy odor, but I always check the first cup of a packet and do a quick rinse if there’s an off smell.
Pu-Erh's aren't quite like other teas, primarily due to the fermentation. But if you're in the mood for something a little different this one will do you right; with a smooth almost buttery quality to it and a subtle flavor profile. Perfect for a lunch cup with cool salads.
Strong earthy flavor that stands up well to multiple infusions.
Puerh Dante is a most wondrous earthy tea! Phenomenal for digestion support, too!!
This is not a tea for me. I rinsed it first but that didn’t do the trick. I made it through about 2/3’s of the cup but only by sheer force of will. It was fishy and just not good to me.
I really did not care for this flavor mix. It was too smoky
Puerh is not for everybody. A lot of the times people use key words...rich, earthy, etc. It's all of these things but just a unique tea flavor. Definitely good if you're new to puerhs and want to dip your toe and try something new. I didn't feel the need to rinse. Puerh always smells a little weird to me (kind of like dirt haha) but it is a nice deep tea, rich and smooth. It's great in blends too!
Delicious tea! I forgot to rinse it but it turned out fine with a little honey.
This tea tastes like earthy leather. I rarely drink pu-erhs and now I'm thinking that I've been missing out. It was a unique flavor and an enjoyable drinking experience.
Pu-erh sometimes bothers my stomach but not this one. It is a rich tea that holds up to multiple steeps.
Very rich, savory cup! Beautiful color and no astringency at all!
This tea is too earthy for me. I had the sensation of trying to drink a cup of tea, while sitting in a cow barn. I did try a second cup, as I hoped the flavor would improve. It didn't. This is not a tea for me!
A deep rich earthy tea is right here. It has a similar take to mushrooms teas I've tried.
This tea tasted like cardboard water. I did rinse it with about 2 oz of water before brewing, and it is not for my tastebuds.
That being said, if I am to receive a packet in a future communitea box, I will try it again…
An earthy tea you can sink your teeth into. Holds up well to milk and sugar, but also very good plain. Incredibly rich it smells like a deep forest when brewed and is a delight to the senses. I dare say this is an excellent starter pu-erh if the others seem too intense.
Not my thing. Should not have read other tea pals describing this as fishy cause thar is what I taste. Faint fish sauce, faint earth, faint cocoa. I need more non fishy flavor.
I sadly am in the ranks of people who get a fishy taste from this tea. It dominates the cup, leaving me unable to enjoy any of the other flavors.
