Though this tea is an oolong, it brews up very well when strong and takes on an almost smokey flavor with a smooth mouth feel and a pleasant bitterness when strong.
Oolong from the WuYi Mountains in Fujian, China. Savory aroma, roasted vegetables. Faint pit-fruit notes. The honey-floral flavor and nutty, with white sesame, sweetened burdock root (fans of Japanese sweets, anyone?) or barley is satisfying and hearty.

This is easily the best oolong I have ever bought.
This oolong has a medium roast with dark toast flavor followed by some subtle fruit aromas and taste. A little more roasted than Fujian Rain with brighter fruit notes.
Sweet, smoky, musty dry tea. Light amber gold liquor with a slightly woody earthy scent. The cup is flowery and honey sweet with a slightly tangy aftertaste. This is a nice simple tea, great for after dinner. I also tried a second brew at 195° F for 5 min and it was a little milder, but just as delicious.
Pleasant, subtle tea flavor with a tinge of mineral taste.
A yummy oolong with a similar flavor to Adagio's Fujian Rain, but a bit more floral.
another wonderful tea that can be used in a gonfu-style serving. it is a lovely and rich tea.
This has got that wuyi minerality that I absolutely love. However, the balance of flavors simply does not match that of the Wuyi Dao Hong Pao. I will still purchase this as a much more affordable version, but I can't give it 5 stars. Still amazing, however. I'm coming for the rest of the Wuyi's at some point too!
This team is a really nice oolong, definitely one for the books
It's good. It's a pretty laid back tea roasted oolong. The website description is relatively accurate, but everything is fairly mild. For example, it definitely has the classic oolong mineral notes, but it's really not that smoky. It's balanced, but all the flavors and aromas are mild and nuanced. The advertised sweet/nutty/cinnamon flavors are present, but relatively faint. I enjoy how smooth it is. It is lighter than I expected.
Cannot stop drinking this tea. Great for multi brew. Always keep it on hand
Love this tea. Even the dry leaves are pretty and it makes a really delicious tea. Even overnights without getting bitter. Everyone that I have introduced to this tea loves it as well. I always include it in gifts, especially for those new to tea. Probably my favorite hot tea. Another starter tea for all ages, the best of the bunch in my estimation. Followed closely by Jasmine Pearls and Golden Flower.
Pretty good tea, not my favorite but not bad by any stretch. Personal preference probably. Flavor sticks around a while and is mineral-like and roasty.
It is delicious. I was introduced to this tea a while ago and could not find it until now.
A darker oolong with a very smooth mineral flavor. The finish has some complexity but is subtle.
A very smooth and tasty oolong. I enjoyed it very much.
Tasted as oolong goddess tea bags, so decided to buy bulk. Very light, mild tea. Very good!
I like it, but it s not nearly as mineral-y as I would like. It is an interesting, satisfying tea, but after tasting another genuinely mineral wuyi, I just can t get into this.
Very aromatic and tasty tea. I am known to blend with Dancong Aria for a morning tea. Would recommend any tea lover!
Absolutely amazing. Good smell and a nearly sweet, honey taste.
I found this tea to be pretty unpleasant. It had an interesting aroma, but I wasn't a fan of the flavor and texture. It was better with milk added, but still nothing I was particularly interested in.
To be honest couldn't quite taste the difference between this and the masters version, apart from one thing - it seems like the airtight packets that Adagio ships samples in are better sealed than the tins for masters version. This tea smelled much more potent than the masters da hong pao, although the taste to me was similar. I used 8 grams for ~200ml of boiling water for this tea. After a brief wash, I let it steep for 5, 10, 15 secs etc increasing each time by 5 secs. First and second infusions quite potent, a bit bitter, roasty, earthy and with a mineral, 'rock' taste. I could taste a subtle aftertaste in my throat, not immediately after drinking, but some minutes later. After third infusion the tea becomes more mellow and floral, just a bit, still quite as strong and mineral/rocky as the first two. I cannot attest to the quality since I haven't had many Da Hong Paos from other vendors but overall the tea brews well. I am glad I tried it, although the strong mineral taste is something I didn't like too much. Good tea, just not quite to my liking.
Solid oolong tea. It has a smooth flavor with notes of vegetables and minerals.
Super interesting flavors! I love that it tastes so much like vegetables. It tastes like how wet leaves smell in fall - in a great, nostalgic way.
Wonderful! Handles multiple infusions just fine, and even tasted good after I forgot about it while steeping. Highly recommend.
Brewed it using a more traditional gong fu style. Tasted toasty and sweet.
The mineral flavor to this tea reminds me of the small waterfalls you find running over stones on a hike. The fired technique gave a roasted barley flavor with a touch of sweetness. This brewed darker than other oolong I have tried, which was surprising. This left my mouth feeling quite dry afterwards.
This tastes minerally to me, which I like, while still tasting like vegetables.
so tasty love this tea!!! so great,
One of my favorites, great oolong, smells a bit like dry glass
A great oolong for traditional small steeps. Savor the aromas and flavors of this fantastic oolong.
it was a gift for my friends. Now they are tea lovers!
I love this blend, it is nutty, fruity, and little floral. If I want something that is savory instead of fruity or earthy this is the go too.
This is an interesting tea. It s slightly smokey, but not overwhelmingly so. It has somewhat of a fuzzy mouth feel. I don t know how else to explain it. It literally feels fuzzy to me. It tastes pretty good though. It s a decent after dinner tea and pairs well with honey and lemon. Personally I didn t get the nutty notes it described in the description, but it tastes like a great, slightly smokey, green tea.
Not as mineral tasting as I prefer, but you can smell the crisp fire with every sip.
This was my first experience with Wuyi, and I must say, it's pretty darned good. There's definitely a mineral feel and taste to it but there is enough other flavors that it isn't just like sucking on a rock. Very tasty.
Not a tea geek. Looking for a balanced cup. Wuyi has been my go to daily tea for couple decades. 90°C for 3-4 minutes delivers the extraction desired.
This seems like an alright oolong, but I was a little disappointed. It's one of the two teas in Mambo, and perhaps the other one is what tasted so nostalgic to me.
This is my favorite of the oolongs. It's quite smooth and really does change flavors with each steep.
This is my go to tea every morning. I love Wuyi in the morning. I steep longer than most since I make it then get ready to go to office.
Best for those seeking something close to black tea with roasted taste.
Smoky, mineral-y, and surprisingly sweet. Definitely recommend for any tea lover who is looking for something slightly different to drink, or who really wants to get into the effect of terroir o tea.
Simply put, my absolute favorite oolong out there. Perfect nuttiness.
Nice robust tea! Has a warm, smooth, ,slightly malty flavor. Makes for a great morning cuppa. I like to add a little milk to mine.
This is a great oolong. It will be one of my favorites. Highly recommended! (fourteen words)
88 points out of a possible 100.
A nice oolong- not too astringent with a mellow finish.
Great caffeine content and complex flavor. Not just your average black tea flavor... also read that this tea aids with weight loss and fat burning! Who knew
My favorite oolong ever. Smooth and not too earthy. We usually save this for special occasions.
A delicious tea! One of my favorites! It has a great light flavor.
I love this tea! Sweet and spicy and mineraly at the same time.
