Ooooh Darjeeling Customer Reviews

Very rare oolong from Singbulli Estate, Darjeeling, India. Muscat grape and apricot pit aroma (also the mark of fine Darjeeling black teas). Dried fruit flavor, lingering floral notes. A lesson in 'terroir': the place where the tea is grown.

*** Won't turn it down if somebody offered me a cup.

Not bad at all. I don't taste what makes this great, however.

Amazing Tea!!! Smooth and Rich. Lovely. I don’t get the negative reviews. This tea is incredible. Mom and I absolutely loved it. Definitely will buy more.

Perhaps not my favorite of the oolong but it isn't a bad blend at all. I got the peach taste but it was definitely one of my sister's favorite blends.

I found this oolong to be on the lighter side and tasted more cereal notes than any sort of fruity or floral ones.

The packet has a nice malty aroma. The tea has a earthy taste with a tiny bite to it.

a lovely darjeeling, great base flavor, malty, buttery, robust!

Still developing my tea vocab but I get mineral and soft astringency in the taste, something earthy and sweet which could be that ‘peach pit’ aroma.

Update: CommuniTEA sample, 7/29/25: 2 min @ 212 F. Still really love this tea and notice new things about it. I don’t think it was starchy this time, but instead, more mineral, a bit more of the oolong characteristic being pronounced. Still love that some greener flavor comes through to balance the sweetness with a hint of bitterness.

I was looking forward to this one and it didn't let down! When I first inhaled the aroma I audibly said 'Wow' and smiled to myself; nobody else was around. The muscat aroma and apricot scents really come through along with a honey-like note. It's a beautiful color and one of the cleanest looking cups. I find Darjeeling black teas to be a great balance of some grassier/green tea flavors and I think that this one is no exception. It's got some bitter notes to it, but even those have an interesting almost starchy kind of quality to them that I enjoyed.

I enjoyed the contrast in flavor between this tea and the oolongs I normally drink in the afternoon. I would have liked to order it again, but it has not been back in stock since I first sampled it.

If you are new to Darjeeling tea, this is a great starter. It's got a smooth flavor, easy to brew, and a great finish.

This is good but still not my favorite Darjeeling. I like it ok enough but can’t see myself ordering it again.

It was a good solid tea. I did find it a little bit too strong

I wasn't sure what to expect from this tea, not having tried it before. Personally my taste runs toward flavored teas, so I found this one to be somewhat underwhelming. Not a bad tea necessarily, just not quite my 'cup of tea' so to speak.

Their not much of a favor in this blend as far as fruitiness goes, but it’s a good if your not a big flavorful full fan

I had this tea with a splash of oat milk like a black tea, as it looked like it could take it. I feel like this oolong has a more intense Darjeeling aroma than Darjeeling black tea. 😂 Its taste, however, is much more grassy and malty. (Even compared to a Darjeeling first flush) I feel like this tea is very rich in taste! In the most pleasant way! I feel like this is exactly what I'm looking for in an oolong. The bold taste of a black tea with the smoothness of green. 5 stars.

I first got on the darjeeling train when my mother brought some back from a trip to India for me. I've been a fan ever since. This tea does not disapoint. The sweet, somewhat nutty taste is very welcoming. I added a bit of honey and that is all it needed.

This tea smells, and tastes so good! Not a bit bitter, and didn’t even need milk! (I personally enjoy milk in my black teas and oolong, so added it anyway and it was still top notch)
I got a subtle fruity taste as well

Absolutely love this Darjeeling. Warming and fruity the tea leaves you with a sense of peace and contentment. Even after I accidentally let mine go cold, it was still smooth and delicious!

This was a surprise favorite for me. It’s lighter in body and somewhat more delicate than my usual faves but a lovely change, and I do find multiple infusions are still quite enjoyable.

One of my favorite oolongs. This is just a perfect all around tea. It's a great start to a day with a little almond milk and some honey.

This one was surprisingly not bad! It was smooth and light. I made sure to brew it at a cooler temperature though, which prevented it from tasting bitter.

I bought the tea bags and tried it a couple of afternoons. It hit the spot. It was mild and smooth and perfect for an afternoon tea.

This tea was more grassy than I originally anticipated but good none the less I enjoyed the tea as a whole but it ended up going cold before I finished it

★★★★☆

This is a nice tea with subtle flavors, due to the combination of it being an oolong and a Darjeeling tea. I enjoy it but don't often think to reach for it.

★★★★★

So far this is my second favorite tea I have purchased here in a moderate caffeine level. It is somewhat bold but not so much it is overpowering.

★★★★☆

I definitely have to brew this one for a short amount of time, as it gets bitter fast at the recommended temp. I may try this again at a lower temperature though. That said, I got 4 steeps out of it, and the only reason I didn't get more was because I went to bed. It does have a delightful taste as long as it is not oversteeped.

Cute name and wonderful tea. I love the large whole leaves, it make the whole brewing experience so nice.

★★★★★

Delicious! I detected mineral, with sweet and floral notes. I tried this as a sample, because I was curious, but wasn't sure what to expect from a Darjeeling Oolong. I was pleasantly surprised. The sweet and flowery aftertaste lingered, and were more prominate after several steepings. I will reorder this, for sure.

I love this tea and find it to be a very pleasant and aromatic cup. I've used it to steep chicken breast for chicken salad and love the flavor. For this you have to use quite a bit (about 1/4 cup) and it provides just the slightest hint of this sweet tea which is really delightful! When preparing for drinking, my preference is a bit on the stronger side so I steep for about 6 minutes.

I tried this multiple times and it's just ok. Not at all complex and far too light in terms of flavor.

I was very disappointed. This tea came out of the communitea pouch was a powder (picture to be posted for my cup). I love oolong but this tasted like dry fire smoke the type that billows black from too much accelerant. I was quite disappointed in it

★★★★★

This is becoming my standard morning tea. It's got a very smooth, silky mouthfeel to it and has no bitterness or astringency. It also stands up to longer steeping times if you're a distracted tea maker like I am. It tastes like honey and flowers.

EDIT: after waiting several months to get a new shipment of this, I can truly say that absence has made my heart grow fonder for this tea.

I have been moving away from black teas and drinking more oolongs. I wanted to try this as a middle ground tea. It is tasty, but it trends more towards black teas than oolong, so I don't think I will be adding it to my regular rotation.

★★☆☆☆

Got a sample of this recently (April 2023) but the batch must have been super old. Didn't have any flavor or aroma to speak of despite adding extra tea leaves. Would reconsider later if Adagio shares harvest date info

★★★★★

A strong, full-bodied darjeeling tea. Containing rich notes similar to what can be found in a strong black tea, it also carries the more gentle body of an oolong tea. There is also a bit of fruity sweetness to it, that also helps cut down on the richness. Each sip brings something new.

Normally I’m drawn to black teas but do enjoy the occasional oolong, particularly on the more oxidized side. This darjeeling fits into that category and I did enjoy it. Although there was a slight mineral quality in addition to the stone fruit hints it did not become the overall tone and I’m glad for it. This was sweet and smooth, definitely would have it again.

This was a smooth and light cup of tea. At first it seemed a bit grassy but as it sat a few minutes, most of that went away. I brewed it ate 195 for 4 minutes, and it was pretty light in taste. If I have it again, maybe I will steep it with the water a little hotter and the time a little longer to bring out more flavors.
