Sweet and creamy.
After reading the description I decided to invest in this tea and anxiously awaited its arrival. I was able to make my first cup yesterday and despite things going wrong, it was still one of the best teas I've ever had. I started by adding a spoon of the tea to my ingenuiTEA. I prefer the room it has for the leaves to spread out compared to other brewing options. Then I added some cold water onto the leaves before pouring the hot water in. I do this step with green tea because it helps prevent scorching the leaves. I set me timer for 2 minutes, assuming the low end of the recommended range would be enough for the first steep. I usually try to get 3 brews from my leaves and let them steep just a little longer each time.
That's when things went wrong. I took the brewer to my office and noticed my mug wasn't there. I started looking for it and my timer went off. I figured I still had a minute and kept looking. The minute came and went. I was worried I over steeped the leaves and envisioned an acidic and bitter brew when I finally dispensed the tea into another mug.
I cautiously took a sip and ... the flavor was amazing. It was almost buttery and sweet. Not even a hint of acid despite the near 5 minute steep.
Even a second and third brew at 3 and 4 minutes returned a brew that brought visions of late spring evenings as the world is coming back to life. The flavor is mild and creamy with a warm, smooth mouth feel.
When I ordered this I had considered blending it with other leaves to extend the number of cups, at this point I wouldn't dream of cutting this luxury in any way.
Is it expensive? Well, it's far less than getting a cup of tea from a fancy coffee shop, but more than other teas. This is a luxury and should be enjoyed as such.

The smell is phenomenal! The taste is very subtle but has a velvety quality. Will be a repurchase.

I honestly had high hopes for this tea, maybe coming with with high expectations was the problem. I was expecting a much more creamier taste, instead i didn't get any milky/creamy flavor at all and the 'creamy' part is rather light in my opinion. I definitely still like it though but it didn't wow me as expected. Maybe I will try a different steep combination.
Update: Despite the initial disappointments this tea is becoming one of my favorites!

Nice Tea...not a Favorite but would buy again. If you like a smooth Oolong then you should give it a whirl.

This tea is very true to its description. Smooth and buttery but at the same time very light with a slight floral note. Its a little pricey but worth it to have a sample around the house. Good for multiple infusions.

This tea goes down smooth and has a light, semi-sweet flavor. I tried combining it with a little bit of soy milk and honey, and it was amazing. I normally lean more toward darker oolong teas, but I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a soothing warm drink.

This is a very special tea, which is obviously reflected in the price, but its worth it. You want to take your time with this one, its sort of like have a flaky, buttery pastry in tea form. Its warming and soul soothing.
★★★★★
Really really good! If you hit the right steeping time, it bursts fourth with a nutty milky flavor that is ohhh so smooth. I wish I had more money to buy the large size! I steeped this in gongfu style, so only 30-40 seconds with 190 degrees. If you gongfu, gongfu this.

Mom in laws absolute favorite tea. I always gift her a bag & always have some on hand for when she comes over. Very creamy and delicate. Lovely flavor.

It was only awful due to me learning that that's not my type of tea. But, it was cool seeing the leaves unravel!
★★★★★
Has a kind of lactic smell reminiscent of custard, maybe? Creamy smooth, very tasty with a subtle finish. Definitely a keeper, although it's a bit more expensive than most teas.

This oolong is delicious. Nice fragrance, nice flavor. I can see this tea making its way into my favorites, alongside Adagio's Ti Kuan Yin.

I've had milk oolongs in China and Taiwan. This one is definitely high quality and opens up well. It is great for multiple steepings. It is just not my favorite oolong. Milk is the wrong word for it. There is a thickness to it, but don't expect a cream flavor. It is more like butter, but not from cow's milk. It is not a tea that you need to or even should add sugar too. It is fine on its own, and I don't know what it could possibly blend well with. I doubt the taste is for everyone, but it's definitely not bitter or astringent in any way. Seems to be pretty forgiving in terms of temp and steep time.

Was my first Oolong tea. Nice and mild taste, a good introduction to lightly oxidized oolongs.

Milk oolong is my favorite of all the teas. I love the full flavor and watching the leaves expand. I use my leaves at least 3 times and haven’t found a better milk oolong anywhere.
★★★★★
This was my first Milk Oolong and I am so impressed...creamy and full mouthfeel, it is a ceremony of flavors, definitely one of my top 5.
★★★★★
When I tasted this tea with nothing added to it, I didn't quite get the 'milk' part. But when I added a bit of sugar, I was really surprised at how it tasted like there was milk in it! All in all, it is a really good oolong tea!
★★★★★
My favorite milk oolong I've tried so far. The aroma and aftertaste are like drinking a cup of hot milk.
★★★★★
This one really does taste milky! Kind of like cereal milk. It's nice and you only need a couple of nubbins for a cup, so the supply lasts a while.
★★★★★
I m so glad to finally try this! I really enjoyed it.
★★★★★
This Oolong is wild! I was hesitant due to price range, but it has such an exquisite buttery texture that makes it a joy to drink.
★★★★☆
Not your traditional Oolong. Less mineral taste, which I personally love, but it does have this creaminess that follows the entire sip, start to finish. It definitely lives up to its name. Recommend if you are looking for something out of the ordinary!

Interesting! I think I may not be discerning enough to prefer it to other oolongs- it seemed a little more delicate, both in leaf and flavor.
★★★☆☆
It’s good, but this is not an exceptional milk oolong.
★★★★☆
Was very different from any other tea I’ve had but was very enjoyable.i recommend trying it

The distinct milky flavor was missing from this batch of milk oolong.

Delicious and nice body. Amazing theres no dairy in here!

I made several cups, just to be certain, but all I ever tasted was grass and smelled a strong floral. I gave the bag to a friend, and she liked it enough to keep, but I was rather disappointed in this.
★★★★★
This oolong is probably the most complex tea I have tried from Adagio so far. The liquor is somehow delicate, savory and floral. The mouthfeel is smooth and magically silky. A special treat that rebrews very well too.
★★☆☆☆
If I was judging this strictly on flavor, it would be a winner. It s smooth with floral afternotes that I enjoyed (and normally I don t). The problem with this tea, and why I rated it 2 measly stars, is that the odor is too overwhelming for me to stomach. In the product description, it mentions cream and butter notes, but this tea straight-up smells like pure melted butter. It doesn t TASTE like it, but that smell... Every time I went to take a swig, that smell just knocked me down. I didn t even finish my cup.

The tea was good, but the review is only okay because of the price. I dont think it was significantly better than other less expensive oolongs.

I don't think this Oolong is for everyone. The taste is needlessly complex and hard to really nail down. It's kind of earthly and kind of bland like a milk tea with not enough milk. Definitely something I wouldn't order again.
★★★★☆
There's a lot that doesn't seem to be written in the description/steeping instructions. Really think for people to enjoy oolongs like these should be without sweeteners, and with conscious steep-times, etc.. A teapot with inadequate space for rolled oolong leaves to unfurl will hinder the tea's potential.
Still trying to figure out what the proper timing is for this type, but my preferences lie as follows:
-3 teaspoons (heaping, if you want) in my 300ml pot.
-quick initial rinse with boiling/near-boiling water.
-steeping - 10, maybe 15-20 seconds for first steeping (tweak according to tastes!), adjust subsequent steeping times by increasing steeping by 5-15 seconds (tweak according to tastes). i get 4-6, sometimes more pots per session with my 3 teaspoons and it's pretty awesome.
Flavor profile is pretty spot on with the description provided. Nice color, nice overall flavor and mouth-feel. Still trying to get a better sense of the proper steep-times to get what I want.
First-time purchase from Adagio Teas and am pleased they offer this at such an affordable price-point.

Here is a real treat for anyone to get their hands on I highly enjoyed and recommend this.

It had a enough of a flavor for an oolong. Sometimes with oolong I run into the problem of weak flavor, but this did fine.
★★★★★
I've been trying more Oolong teas and this one is really smooth, love the taste and learning more about this tea leaf. Seems there are several very pricey Milk Oolong teas. I have not compared this one to others but I'm enjoying every sip. Delicious!

Smooth mouthfeel, though the better, more mellow flavor didn't come out until the second infusion. The leaves are huge and spread to fill my entire teapot!

If it's oolong it's bound to get my attenton and this is no different.

Smooth and creamy. Definitely does not need a long steep. Can easily burn/become bitter

Amazingly smooth & creamy. Just a dash of milk and its good to go. Definitely s new favorite!

I love this! The flavor is light, but so full. It gives three steeps nicely.

Milk Oolong is one of my favourite teas and this one is great! I prepared it gongfu style and resteeped it 4 times. It has a great buttery honey-like taste and was smoother and smoother with every steep. I also added a little cream. It was sublime!
