nice well rounded oolong. i enjoy the grassy and mineral flavors to this. good through several steepings
Lightly oxidized oolong from Nantou county, Taiwan. Similar in style to Tung Ting, its tightly rolled leaves slowly unfurl through several steepings. Jade oolong is loved for its fresh green-floral aroma, sweet flavor, and delicate texture.

such a classic oolong wonderfully floral and smooth no bitterness absolutely delightful tea brew it often
It's a pleasant enough taste but a little too neutral for me. Very good for an upset stomach or a relaxing base for more flavors but a little too neutral all on its own.
Not my favorite tea type, but this is a decent oolong. I do not know if I would order the Jade Oolong again.
A delicious and earthy oolong tea! This tea is very fragrant and stands up to multiple steeps while also being very forgiving with steep times
Delightful tea with a lot of grassiness and lightness.
Jade Oolong isn’t a bad tea but for me it’s not enough to buy it again
I enjoy this tea a lot. It’s a good break from my usual green teas and a great afternoon tea to switch it up
I liked the flavor and format of this tea, but it felt a bit weak. Maybe I didn't follow directions as closely?
Nice, clean, light tea. I originally tried to do an overnight iced tea infusion which turned out a little light in flavor for me. But following the traditional hot instructions makes a great cup. Still very light compared to green teas I am used to.
Fantastic Creamy floral oolong that held up to multiple steeps.
i got to try this as part of the jan '24 communitea box (was one of a handful of teas that i really wanted to try from that collection) and i have to say it was a little life changing. my experience with oolong's was limited to tea bags from the grocery store, which i did enjoy. however, i was not prepared for the clean, floral and just downright pleasant flavor characteristics of this loose leaf oolong.
admittedly i am new to loose leaf teas; my first foray was with fruity tisanes which were a little bit dissapointing. however, based on this one experience, i've gone on to drop over a hundred dollars on specific, single origin tea varietals, trying to find other leafy, pleasant surprises.
Amazing mild taste. Great for beginners. Can’t go wrong when making it either.
It was a bit in the grassy side. I didn’t care for it too much. I am enjoying this today.
Very lovely oolong tea. Drank it with little sweetener and ice. Made a pot of this for co-works and they really liked as well.
Update 1/16/24 - was a little too earthy and grassy for me today. I didn't pick up on any floral notes. Was disappointed. Have a stuffy nose... that might be the difference between my two reviews.
This is a lovely, jasmine green oolong tea that I enjoyed over 3 steeps. I used 180 degree water, did a 15-second rinse initially and steeped for 3 minutes each time with no additions or bitterness. This is a really lovely tea I am glad I had a chance to try.
A lovely floral oolong. Good to be made in a gaiwan or brewed in a big pot for those leaves to really open up!
A very nice light oolong tea. It’s fun to watch the long leaves unfurl. Tastes like a green tea. I enjoyed this tea with a little honey
Delicious. Perfect example of an oolong. No bitterness or astringency.
This is lovely. Beautiful leaves - light floral, green taste. Ditto to everything Jim said, although I steeped for 3 mins at ~185°. 175-180 is probably ideal since it’s so green.
When I opened my CommuniTEA packet, I was met with vegetal aromas. I steeped the tea for 3 minutes and enjoyed watching the tea leaves unfurl. This produced some sweet, floral aromas from the tea. The tea has a lovely, smooth floral and slightly vegetal flavor. There is no astringency and has a buttery mouth feel to it. A very enjoyable cup of tea!
I really enjoyed the first steep of this tea. It wasn't at all astringent, which I enjoyed, and had a smooth feel and a grassy scent. The flavor was slightly on the floral side, and overall enjoyable! The second steep leaned a little more vegetal, which wasn't for me. A good tea, all the same!
(Jan 24) still really exceptional tea
Im so glad that I've discovered here I love oolongs; particularly that 'buttery/floral' thing happening here. Did the minimum steep because I wanted less caffeine in this moment and I'm enjoying the mild cup.
You had me a green oolong. light, floral, slightly herbaceous without being grassy. The perfect cup to calm your soul after a hectic morning.
A beautiful Taiwanese oolong with delicate vegetal notes. When dry, sweet floral notes are detected. The tea liquor is very light and fresh tasting. Gong-fu brewing really draws out the complex notes and takes the taste to another level. A truly excellent tea!
Updated from 10/2/23: It's a little more green than I care for, but it's still a nice tea with a lovely mouthfeel. I reduced the water temperature this time and found it less vegetal than my prior experience. The floral notes were there, but not overwhelming and still in balance with the other flavours in this tea, so it was more pleasant this time around. Still probably not one I'd seek out, but I would enjoy it if offered a cup. Steeped 3 min @ 175º.
I loved this cup! It was was very smooth and satisfying. I thought the flavor was very zen and I could see myself drinking this in the future. I liked how light it was. It was nice hot.
Such a delightful cup! Smooth and floral. A perfect oolong! This tea resteeps very well too!

This tea is incredible! I brewed a bit stronger than usual, 4 grams in 12 ounces, and it still came out a very light color. But the taste was amazing - vegetal at first, with a notable grassy floral taste and a lingering honey smoothness. A second brew was a bit stronger, more vegetal on the start, more sweetness lingering afterward, and a lovely floral finish. By a third brew, the grassiness and floral notes are much more subtle, and a sweet, smooth, mineral, almost buttery sip remains. The complexity of this light brew and the long-lasting smooth taste is great, so satisfying. Flavors intensify as the tea cools, making this a lovely iced tea as well. In comparison to other oolongs, this one is less sweet than a pouchong, less vegetal than Adagio's Ti Kuan Yin, and less floral than the Fujian Orchid. Yet it combines some of the best parts of all of these. I recommend soft water, a cool brew (180F or less) and don't be afraid of brewing strong (more leaves/tsp than usual, longer than usual).
Haiku update:
Enjoying sipping.
Resteeping multiple times.
I like green Oolongs.
This is a nice tea. First steep 3 min @ 180 was too short. The color was very pale and was barely any flavor, maybe reminiscent of green tea. The following three steeps for longer had a much better golden color and smooth, clean taste. Definitely need a large infuser for how much the leaves expand. I actually steeped in a bowl and carefully poured into my cup without getting any leaves.
2024 update: I'm glad to see something familiar pop up in the CommuniTEA box. It still takes up plenty of space in the infuser basket once it's all done! This would make a great presentation in a clear pot, perfect for enjoying with friends. It doesn't have that strong grassy smell that I noticed in my 2019 review, and I'd compare the taste more to a mild green tea than to a black tea. This one holds up well to multiple steeps too.
2019: This one really likes to expand in the water. The tiny little pearls, just three teaspoons measured out into my large IngenuiTEA pot opened up so much they completely filled the pot. It was quite a sight. It tastes like a mix of green and black tea, and it smells very grassy.

5/27/21 - wow! I really like this oolong! I don't normally gravitate to green teas. I just don't like vegetal/grassy notes in tea at all. But I have a rule that every tea in my CommuniTea boxes must be tried. So I kept an open mind and brewed today's tea as directed. 180F, 4 minutes. No grassy notes...just a sweet, herbal, light taste and aroma. Brews up a lovely golden green color. I added a bit of Truvia to cut any grassy taste, but it really wasn't necessary. This is a lovely tea that is very green, but doesn't end up tasting like hot spinach water to me. Love it! Adding to wishlist!
Everything about this tea is pleasant-the light, almost floral flavor, the brothy mouthfeel, the evolving flavor with every additional brewing.
I tried all the Oolongs at Adagio over the last two years. Even the masters ones. This is by far the best. It's rolled into little crumbles so it's really easy to brew with just one teaspoon full. In addition to the normal toasty Oolong notes this one has a delicious honey note.
Bought as a gift for a friend but it is her favorite tea. She loves it because she can drink it without adding anything to it and still enjoy it.
Bought a sample of this on the recommendation of a co-worker because it's his favourite, but unfortunately I've never been a fan of green or oolong teas and this is similar for me. I
I don't know if I have been receiving old tea or I caught covid again but I couldn't get much flavor out this tea. I've had this before and I thought it was good. I didn't get much out of it this time around
Very good tea! Light and delicate, very soothing. I don't drink with sugar or honey, would completely overpower the tea, though the flavor gets stronger over time. got about 8 or 9 tea cups out of it, though that was shared between multiple people, I had about 4 cups, by the 4th or 5th it got a bit bitter, but it had been seeping continuously for like half an hour by that point. used about 2 tea spoons, but I was sharing tea between 4 people, definitely don't need to use that much if its just yourself.
Very light and floral tea. If you’re a fan of jasmine tea, I’d give this one a try.
Hot this was a 3 ⭐️ but it mellowed out and was not near as grassy tasting to me when it cooled some do I would go to 3.5. Not one I will likely buy but it was fun to watch it unfurl in the pot. CT 10/2/2023.
I have to admit that I’m just not a fan of these greener oolongs, I prefer the dark ones. While hot it was definitely too vegetal for me. Cooler it was ok, but still not my cuppa.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tea. I think I got like 4 steeps out of it. It had soft, earthy tones that balanced with a gentle floral flavor. Delicious!
Tastes a little like matcha; I liked it! Very smooth and tasty
A very light tea. I was hoping it might contain more caffeine.
Love the mild flavor with a little honey and almond milk.
The Scott in me loves an excellent oolong and this one does not disappoint. Beautiful light yet flavorful liquor when steeped as suggested and truly a delight with a dash of cream.
it was alright, i tihnk i steeped it for too long?
A pleasant tasting tea, but fairly unremarkable. It doesn't stand out.
It's a nice, light tea without a hint of astringency. Pretty similar to a green tea. I'll be adding it to my list to reorder!
