Jade Oolong Customer Reviews

Lightly oxidized oolong from Nantou county, Taiwan. Similar in style to Tung Ting, its tightly rolled leaves slowly unfurl through several steepings. Jade oolong is loved for its fresh green-floral aroma, sweet flavor, and delicate texture.

★★★★☆

Very light and refreshing tea. Perfect for enjoying with meal or for relaxing. Aromatic while brewing.

A delicious oolong with the lovely floral notes and the ever soft but present green and oolong flavor.

★★★★★

I'd say this is the alternative to the phoenix pearls if you don't want to spend the extra money. This tastes great and is incredibly smooth green tea. No grassy flavor and doesn't taste cheap. Its very delicious!

★★★☆☆

It tastes more like a green tea than an oolong. I added a little sugar, I also resteeped like I do typically with oolongs. Not my favorite tea.

I really like this tea in the morning. I have GERD and have no problems with this product. Very smooth and a great way to start the day!

It has been ages since I tried an Oolong and I really liked this one. It was mild and had a toasty/grassy flavor that I enjoyed very much.

★★★☆☆

It's a bit grassier than I expected honestly, less of the fragrant earthy flavor I associate with oolongs. Probably very good if you enjoy plain green teas, but just not my cuppa.

★★★★★

Beautiful taste. Luv sipping it on lazy afternoons. Positive experience. It meet all of my expectations.

★★★★★

I love Jade Oolong! It's a wonderful, green tea replica and I appreciate the lower caffeine. It's a wonderful earthy tea, ideal for my morning commute.

★★★★★

This is a really nice oolong with a strong, pleasant flavor and aroma that's somewhere between vegetal and floral. Gets a bit sweeter with subsequent steeps.

★★★★☆

Contrasting the usual robust taste of oolong, Jade Oolong is light and perfume-y with a slightly grassy taste. It's refreshing and finishes with a light roasted taste. However, for an oolong, I would prefer something heartier.

★★★★★

This tea tasted amazing regardless of how I steeped it. I usually drink jasmine green tea and this tea is a similar take on the same flavorful floral theme.

One of my favorite tea. I would order again in future.

When I drink this with some orange cranberry scones, I can’t help but think of taking a stroll through the stalls of an artisanal Chinatown market on a crisp autumn morning.

Delicious. This really reminds me of a good green tea but smoother. I really enjoy the flavor and body of this tea. I've had it both cold and hot.

This tea is lovely both as hot tea and brewed cold. When making iced tea, I use 8 ounces in a quart of water, refrigerated for 7 hours.

★★★★★

This is when I learned that I prefer green teas from China rather than Japan. Very helpful on an afternoon where I had stomach issues, as well.

★★★★★

I love this amazing tea after dinner. It helps with digestion and relaxes me. Perfect with honey or alone.

I am not normally a fan of oolong tea, but I thought this was pretty good. My family really enjoyed it for its smooth flavors.

Not very flavorful. Even adding sugar and honey didn’t help.

Oh sooo good!
I like how the discription says “fresh green-floral aroma” great way to describe it! It is a heavier, syrupy mouthfeel, and is very sweet. Much lighter on the oxidation

Very good, nice light, naturally slightly sweet, not too earthy. Very enjoyable

A little more on the green tea side of the oolong spectrum than some others I have tried, this tea delivers everything I feel an oolong should be at a very reasonable price point. It can get a little astringent at higher temps or longer brews, so I would recommend steeping this one at 170-180 F for no more than 3 min per steep. Follow this and you can get good sweetness and that delicious oolong taste for a minimum of 4 steeps! Will buy again!

I was introduced to your teas about 2 years ago. This was one of my first encounters with green tea. It is now included with every order. The full bodied flavor stands up to any meal or on its own for a afternoon pick me up.

★★★★★

This is another tea great for multiple steepings. It's very fragile, however, so you'll want to keep track of time and temperature to keep it from becoming bitter.

A beautiful delicate tea. Don’t over steep this or it won’t be good but watch the timer and this tea is lovely

This tea is the closest I've managed to get to the tea that is served at local Chinese restaurants in my area.

A very decent oolong tea. Would not hesitate to offer it as a reccomendation to others.

This is a milder oolong, with its signature fruity tinge that I love. It steeped well twice and maintained good flavor.

★★★★★

Very nice oolong tea, pleasant flavor and aroma. I really enjoyed this tea.

This tea is wonderfully delicate! I'm a fan on this tea overall. It's a good green tea and I would recommend it.

★★★★★

Very nicely done; light floral green tea taste is very pleasing. I brewed this strong and will buy again.

One of my everyday teas. It’s not all that complex, but it’s really really good. Sweet honey flavor, some classic vegetal green tea character, plus a really nice floral note.

★★★★☆

Very smooth and delicate. A bit vegetal, and I had some astringency since I brewed it in a gaiwan at boiling temperature. Got many very nice steeps.

★★★★★

This is the first Oolong tea I truly enjoyed. The compact rolled leaves unfurl to realease a slight roasted taste without any floral overtones. It's a great green tea without that overwhelming alfalfa aroma. The beautiful golden color is inviting and this tea is great without sweetener or milk. We brewed it twice, the first time for 4 minutes and the second time for 5 minutes and the flavor was perfect both times.

5 min steep · 180°F

★★★★☆

This is a good tea, just make sure you follow the recommend steeping temp.

Definitely a lighter green oolong; very floral with some texture and body with pleasant astringency and 'juiciness' to me (if brewed over 180). Everything I like about green tea without the bitterness. Reminds me of a jasmine green without an overpowering floral notes, and a little more body. Seems unroasted which I prefer to roasted Jade Ololongs.

I definitely thought it was too light as other indicated at 180 and wasn't getting the wonderful floral notes...bumping temperature up to 185-190 brings out the floral notes I like with a little bit of dryness and astringency which I find pleasant.

Overall, my favorite oolong. If you're into lighter greens I'd recommend this. Golden flower is very similar but I like the floral notes here a little more especially with some astringecy, Golden Flower almost syrupy-sweet to me.

The Jade Oolong is one of the first teas I've had the pleasure of trying and it did not disappoint! It tastes very clean and smells amazing in the cup, though I'm not versed enough in teas to describe it properly. Honey works well to sweeten it if need be, but over time when I brewed it I found my experience enhanced by using less honey and letting the tea itself shine. I had already worked through my sample pack by the time that a tea-drinking friend of mine told me you could re-steep oolongs to bring out more of their flavors, but next time I buy this I'll definitely give that a try, too.

★★★★★

Among all oolong teas I have every tried, Jade Oolong has a stronger flavor that I absolutely enjoy.

★★★★★

this is my favorite! I love Jade Oolong teas, but I also love that you can get a sample size of things.

★★★★☆

Typically not something I’d drink on a regular basis, but if you’re looking for a tea that’s floral and light oolong that isn’t too grassy, this is the one to try. It was a bit vegetal tasting for me, but still very nice. Not as vegetal tasting when iced though!

★★★★★

This has become a stand-by favorite for me. The light floral aromatics refine as the liquor cools and each cup maintains smooth, clean profile from start to finish. Perhaps a little simplistic, but the refined, unadulterated simplicity is what I really appreciate about Jade Oolong. It's also very flexible with respect to temperature and steeping duration. You really can't go wrong.

I made a mistake when I first made this by not checking the recommended temp and time. So the first batch had a chokingly strong mineral taste when I did 212F for 6 minutes. I changed it to 190F for 4 minutes and it was like a totally different tea. It was very nice and clean with light floral scent and smell. The smell and taste are similar to golden flower oolong but not at sweet fruity as golden flower. This one resembles a green tea in the ways it totally changed based on time and temp whereas most oolongs are more forgiving on temp and time.
