A slightly smokey oolong with that familiar mineral/earthy taste! It almost smells a bit like when you go camping in the woods, like a slightly damp wood and earth with a subtle hint of smoke from a campfire in the distance. I was able to get 3 good steeps from this and enjoyed all 3!

This has a strong mineral taste. I steeped twice using 195 F water x 4 minutes. Unfortunately I tried adding heavy whipping cream which ruined it and I had to throw that down the drain. There are other oolong teas I prefer.

This is a pleasantly simple, nutty oolong with gentle mineral and fruit notes. Not a go-to for me, but good if you like that sort of thing.

Starting to think oolong just isn't for me. 😆 It's a fine tea, just not my style.

This was a toasty flavored oolong. Honey really helped to bring out some of the flavors. I might not have steeped it long enough to get the full flavor. I tried this in the CommuniTEA. 185 for 3 minutes.

When I opened my CommuniTea packet, I noticed a woodsy aroma with a hint of fruitiness. I steeped the tea for about 3 minutes and it produced a lovely dark amber cup. To me the tea had an earthy, yet smooth taste. I definitely prefer flavored oolongs, but this was still a good cup of tea!

UPDATED from 3/9/2: There is a strangely woody aroma coming from inside the CommuniTEA packet. The leaves steep (at a slightly lower temp) and create a beautiful amber color. This tea is strong and full flavored. It has an earthy, almost woody flavor. There are hints of dry hay. Adding ¼ teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) brings out some fruity sweetness (like raisin) that lingers on my tongue, into the finish. There is no astringency, and the tea steeps well many times. Each time it steeps it becomes sweeter and sweeter. The flavor never seems to quit and the more I steep it, the more I like it. ( 3 mins @ 200ºF + sweetener).

A nice and complex cup. Sandalwood and toasted rice dominate the taste. A good straightforward tea.

I feel like I have been drinking this tea for my entire life, but never reviewed it until today. While steeping, it had a woody aroma. It brewed to a beautiful color. This was a very enjoyable sip. Toasty, smooth and sweet .

In the bag: Just the tea, roughly chopped. Plenty of stems to go along with the leaves. Leaves are brown to black in color and brittle.
On the nose (pre-steep): An earthy scent, like dry black soil. Hints of old, untreated wood. Slightly toasty. Lesser intensity.
On the nose (post-steep): The scent has taken on a dank, vegetal quality. The toasty note remains, but old wood does not.
On the tongue: Toasted grass is the main flavor. Barest hint of sugar. Not bitter.
Opinion: A pleasant tea, which surprised me because I'm not normally a fan of naked teas. The toasty, grassy notes are good enough to carry the show on their own.
Preparation: 3 min @ ?195℉, no additives

Formosa, beautiful island, Oolong tea has a nice toasty flavor with hints of fruit and floral notes.
The true enjoyment of its taste for me began in the 2nd steep. And with each resteep, the bold woodsy flavor mellowed nicely to reveal more subtle and tasty notes.
I pulled the kettle at 208F to pour 12 oz. of hot water on two rounded teaspoons found in the CommuniTEA packet today. In this first 5 minute steep, the leaves fully opened and brewed to a darkish color in my IngeniTEA. The first sip was very distinctive in taste. As the tea cooled, I detected more subtle fruit and floral flavors with aromas to match. I found a dab of honey helpful to smooth the way through the first coming on strong cup. On subsequent resteeps I could sip plain to appreciate all the flavors that this tea had to offer right through the minerally aftertaste.
This dark oolong turned out to be a surprisingly clean, refreshing and thirst quenching sip. The dry mouthfeel at the end was pleasant and very different in nature than one experienced from an astringent black tea. For this reason this tea would be very refreshing iced. The beautiful island taste came through for me in the end, very satisfying and flavorful. 5 stars for this new adventure in tea.

In my opinion this tea is a perfect blank slate- the vanilla ice cream of tea- it has a great flavor nd everything that you would expect out of a oolong but is reminiscent that of a black tea. I think it is best enjoyed with lots of honey.

A good tea! It certainly has the taste I've come to expect from oolongs. It didn't necessarily 'wow' me, but it didn't disappoint either. It's a pleasant, mild flavor that I enjoy. No complaints!

I brewed my Formosa Oolong hot with burdock and manuka honey to help bring out the flavors of this tea. It is strangely dry, but took the sweetness of the honey really well. I think this is a good tea and will be fun to experiment with. I think I would recommend this tea!

This tea is a favorite! I found it in a sampler pack and had to get more. Mild, with a vaguely creamy finish. It's never bitter and perfect hot.or iced.

This tea is a good darker oolong. It has some classic oolong flavours and some nice mellow sweeter notes. It's a decent tea for fans of oolong teas and a solid tea for those new to oolong or Taiwanese teas.

The dry leaves smell like bread. The liquor is a beautiful sherry color and thick on tongue. I get suddle notes of burnt honey and poached fruit like peaches and pears. Though there is a roasted under tone it’s not dominating. Some hints of bitterness but no astringency. Enjoyable.

A very nice dark oolong from Taiwan that has a deep aroma and some wonderful dark, fruity notes with a bit of astringency. The longer you steep, the darker the notes. Overall, a good blend I m happy to keep sipping. @adagioteas

I got this to make Russian Caravan blends, but like Keemun Concerto, was wowed by how excellent it is on its own. It's like a black tea with these little hints of green that don't overwhelm -- perfect if, like me, you lean toward the black end of things but dabble in the white/green end. Very interesting and pleasant.
