Finally! I get to review Coconut Grove Pouchong. I had it the day before. I've received two samples twice. It is a hit with my youngest who loves fruity teas. I like this better than the coconut flavored black tea.

I usually like coconut and oolong tea, but I'm not liking this combination very much. It's kind of savory and buttery, plus coconut flavor that tastes...fake? Maybe just out of place. I know I like Adagio's coconut flavor in other teas, but it just isn't for me in this blend!

The coconut in this is subtle but distinct. It's nice, but it's not the best summer tea I've had from Adagio.

Drinking along with the CommuniTEA today: Mainly coconut fragrance coming from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 minutes at 190° F, I notice a grassiness followed by creamy coconut scents on the nose of my cup. When I take a sip, I notice mainly creamy coconut flavors with a hint of herbal grassiness and finishes with pronounced coconut nuttiness.

Smooth, crisp coconut flavor with an earthy undertone. The coconut is neither subtle nor overpowering. A splash of milk would be a perfect addition.

I’m not usually a bit coconut fan but this blend was delicious. The minerality of the oolong combined with the sweet coconut notes was a real treat!

Enjoyed this tea iced for June CommuniTEA. The oolong pairs nicely with the coconut. My packet had a nice piece of fresh coconut and the flavor was noted in the brew. Oolong is not a tea I usually ice, but this was delicious! Happy sipping!

I love this tropical twist on an oolong. The smell of the packet is inviting. Strains of ukele music come unbidden to my ears. The stage is set for an island dream! The oolong base is nice and creamy and the coconut flavor complements it well. There isn't enough coconut to overpower the cup in my opinion. It's just right. Drink this and float off to your favorite island getaway. Happy Sipping or Hau'Oli Maoli Oe (Happiness Toward You).

Below is an update of my 12 Jun 20 review to correct an incomplete beginning sentence …

The only difference from this and the Coconut Pouchong is the addition of cornflowers. Looked and smelled great in the bag. Otherwise, results are the same. The cornflower addition is pretty, but I couldn’t detect any different flavors from it. A longer steep was done at a higher temperature to bring out the coconut flavor and aroma. A really nice creamy and buttery mouthfeel was supplied by the coconut and pouchong. A bit of sugar was added to smooth out any astringency from the pouchong. This was a very pleasant green oolong-like sipper. (4 mins @ 212F, 1/4 tsp sugar)

200 degrees for 5 minutes. Mellow creamy coconut vibes greeted me upon first sip of this tea along with a smooth base from the pouchong. Very little astringency. A calm meditative brew that I really enjoyed.

I thought this sounded amazing, in theory (because I love anything coconut) - but the light bitterness of the tea doesn't really go well with the coconut, in my opinion. It's a little underwhelming, but not bad.

I was a little leary, I've never had a coconut tea, BUT it was really good!!! The coconut is just right, not too overpowering. I made it iced...delicious!
Update- a year later and this is still a favorite. 🥥🍹🏝

I loved the pouchong tea in itself. I felt that the sweetness from the coconut could ve been more apparent, it wasn t. Wouldn t drink this cold (cold oolong is just blasphemy), but hot, it was nice. A lot softer than I expected

I was quite disappointed upon discovering that Adagio stopped carrying their Coconut Pouchong but decided to give Coconut Grove a try. It is quite similar to the older version and am not quite sure what the difference is besides the blue corn flowers. It may have a slightly more pronounced coconut flavor but it still isn t overly strong. At any rate, I am glad it differs very little with the original and would purchase again.

Oh my. I've never had pouchong tea before, so I can't speak to how it's flavor is here, but this is a WONDERFUL cup of coconut flavored tea, almost with a buttery mouthfeel. Reminded me a bit of pu-erh without the strong earthiness. If you love coconut I definitely recommend this tea!

This is a fantastic coconut tea, my favorite that I have tried. It's full of real coconut pieces so the flavor is fresh, rich, and creamy without being overly sweet. It blends perfectly with the buttery pouchong base. I steep it at around 190°F for 4 minutes and it's very smooth with no bitterness. I've also tried it cold brewed overnight and it is amazing that way as well.

This is a delicate tea where the floral and coconut notes blend wonderfully. In flavor, the pouchong is like a green tea but without any finishing bitter. It has a really satisfying juicy quality overall when sweetened with some honey. I love this one!

I did not like this tea. I love coconut- but this tea was just too bitter for me. I drank one cup- and then tossed the rest of the leaves. Perhaps it is an acquired taste?
