Cherry and almond delight! This blend smells exactly like cherry marzipan and for once I can really taste the cherry in a tea. I love it both hot and cold brewed, with or without sweetener. The cinnamon flavor is more prominent when hot and more of the floral is noted when cold brewed. Either way is a win in my book!

This was okay for me. I'm not a huge cherry fan or oolong fan.

I originally had high hopes for this tea, as I enjoy both cherry and almond. Some of the other reviews had left me feeling dubious about how I’d react to itv, however. Thankfully, I didn’t find it as unappealing as others seem to have. I found both flavors to be present and palatable, though I think I would step at a bit lower temperature next time, and with slightly less water than called for. I think that might slow for a more distinct and less muddled flavor. Overall, not a bad blend.

Almond definitely took center stage, with cherry being more of a fragrance than a flavor. Not at all bad, but I expected a bit more cherry (contrary to a lot of the other reviews I read)

CommuniTEA 2022: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Much trepidation today as I can still taste last year’s version from April and June. Steeped 195F a scant 3min, this is definitely a welcome improvement! Cherry is still forward but not overwhelming while hot. Cinnamon is surprisingly the second note, then almond and roses at the end. As this cooled it became less balanced, less enjoyable, and the cinnamon disappeared. I did finish my cup but the final sip was far too cherry-heavy and floral for my liking. I would however drink this hot/warm again.
CommuniTEA 2021: ⭐️⭐️
Having missed out on previous promos of this new flavor and generally enjoying cherry and marzipan, I was excited for today’s CommuniTEA! The packet smelled strongly —and I mean strongly— of an aggressively unnatural cherry (think flavored medicine). My portion did not have any visible rose and yet it steeped to an incredibly potent perfume. I choked down most of one mug and dumped the rest. No almond to be found, this was an overwhelmingly floral and artificial sour cherry soap. Disappointing.

Opening up the packet for this tea and the cherry smell is very dominant, but not in a bad way. I expected almost a fake smelling cherry smell and it was not like that to me at all. It smelled very natural and reminiscent of fresh cherries. I’m not a big fan of oolong tea I have to admit but this tea was very nice. I probably wouldn’t go as far to order it but I did enjoy one nice cup of it. Adding a little bit of organic sugar to it also really enhanced the fruit flavor in a nice way. It was a very nice experience to have overall. (4 mins @ 212°F + 1 tsp organic cane sugar)

CommuniTEA portion: Based on previous reviews, I went the cold brew route with this tea. I will admit it isn't my favorite ever, but it wasn't as crazy strong as I had anticipated. The flavors blended well there was just something on the back end that wasn't my favorite? Maybe the marzipan? At any rate, enjoyed the adventure. :-)

I mostly taste cherry and a little hint of cinnamon. After each sip, the cherry taste lingers in my mouth for a surprisingly long time, and I can’t say that I especially enjoy it. This is a matter of personal preference.

I love cherries and I so wanted to love this tea, but I just can't do it. All I get is rose - the scent as the tea is cooling is overwhelming anything else. Since I tend to taste with my nose first, this has just been a total bust. Perhaps a lot less (or no rose) would be better, but as is I just can't take it.

This tea combined three of my favorite flavors — cherry, marzipan and oolong tea with just a hint of cinnamon and rose. I found the amount of each to be exact and perfect — not too much of one to overpower the drink.
This tea will definitely be on my list of afternoon teas to accompany a forbidden decadent dessert. Perhaps one with chocolate, whipped cream, and more cherries.
Steeping notes — 195 degrees for 5+ minutes in my tea traveler, grandpa style.

CommuniTEA review: Let me preface this with, I don't like cherry anything, the fruit, the flavor, the aroma, any of it; but I was determined to try this tea. I brewed at 205 for only 2 minutes and took a tentative sip expecting to pour the whole mug down the drain. Y'all I drank almost all my mug. It is no where near the top of my list, in fact I will probably never ever buy it, but it didn't make me gag or spit it out either. The almond 'marzipan' flavor is nice and makes up for the cherry.

Update: I brewed my CommuniTEA sample at 3 min today, hoping to mellow out the rose. After that, I'm loving this tea! Mellow, fruity rose flavors appear first, fading into sweet cinnamon almond with a buttery finish. Cherry flavor is not very pronounced - vaguely fruity, but still very pleasant.
I love cherry and almond, but unfortunately, this blend is overpowered by rose flavor. You might still enjoy it if you're a fan of rose, but I was disappointed to miss the flavors I was looking for.

I cold brewed this tea in the refrigerator overnight, I think it tones down the medicinal taste you get with the cherry flavoring. I added some honey and milk to make a milk tea and it tastes better.

CommuniTEA Sample: I was hoping to like this one more than I actually did. Not a lot of cherry taste and a bit of a flat oolong note. It does seem different than the last time I had it, but not sure why. Maybe I had less cherry in it?

When I opened the packet, the smell was overwhelming. Therefore, I lowered the water temp to 195 and only brewed for 3 minutes, which tamed down the cherry flavor. I’m not a fan of marzipan, so I didn’t mind that I couldn’t taste it in my tea.

I can see this being a bipolar tea for alot of people. By that I mean either you love or you hate and the determination is the cherry flavoring. I personally am not a fan of cherry flavoring but in this blend it was tolerable.

At first sip, I didn't get a lot of almond flavor. As it started cooling, though, I tasted a lot of both the cherry and almond. I might try adding some sugar to bring the marzipan out.

I usually like cherries but this has an almost artifical cherry flavor, like overly sweet cherry candy. There is a perfume-like smell that I think is from the rose that I really don't like. In my opinion this would be better without the rose and with a stronger almond flavor.

I am not a huge oolong tea fan but I have a found another I would get again. While I didn't taste much almond I still loved this tea. Though a bit more of the almond came through when I added a pinch of monk fruit sweetener to it.

I don't understand why the rose flavor is sooo strong in my packet.
I can taste the cherry and almond but when I breathe when going for a sip of tea, all I am getting is floral roses. The combination is not something that I especially enjoyed.

The oolong makes for a nice smooth tea blend. The cherry teeters on the edge of artificial and realistic which threw me for a loop for a while. The almond flavoring seemed to balance the cherry out a little, keeping it sweet and not tart. In the end I decided I liked it, but not sure I would order more. I saw some comments about adding chocolate... I can imagine that enhancing this quite a bit!

CommuniTEA 5/7/22: This is one of those teas that I keep trying over and over again and every time it tastes different. Today it was nutty soap. The last time was cough syrup. The time before that was tree bark. I'm not sure what is causing the wide changes in flavor profiles unless they have changed the recipe? Overall, it's not bad, but not as great as I was expecting... Because I adore cherries and marzipan and this doesn't taste like either.

Today I cold brewed this tea and enjoyed the flavor much more. The cherry flavoring was much more subdued and the almond was more prominent.
last time:When I opened the bag I loved the almond aroma. After brewing @212°F for 4 minutes the tea had a delicious cherry almond scent. The first sip was disappointing, it tasted like a cherry cough drop. So I waited for it to cool a little and the flavor improved greatly. I decided to add just a little honey, about an 1/8 of a tsp. and fell in love with the tea. The flavor is delicious and smooth with no bitterness. Another new favorite for me.

I have to admit - I am not a fan of this tea. There are too many flavors fighting for dominance with no clear winners. The smell was a little off-putting when I opened the packet. All I could smell was medicinal cherry cough syrup. I don't know if it was the cherry, marzipan, or almond (or the combination of all 3) that I didn't like. Not a tea for me... 😢

I love cherry and I love almond, but not this tea. The scent from the packet reminded me of cough syrup circa the 1980s. After a 5 minute steep, the scent wasn’t as strong as it was in the packet. The first sip all I could taste was the cherry and almond flavoring which are potent. About halfway through my cup I added some cream and it was made more palatable. If this had real cherry pieces and real bits of almond (I know this is not something Adagio does and I respect it), I would probably enjoy it a lot more.

I really enjoyed the combination of flavors like cherry and almond oolong to give a very sweet mellow marzipan taste. I used adagio black honey to bring out and highlight the two leading flavors.

The oolong and almonds are nice, but the cherry overwhelms them with a cherry flavor having little in common with actual cherries.

It tastes like red. Like, you know the red candy flavor things like lollipops and ring pops have? It tastes like red! I love it! It smells like it too. I got this as a tiny advent calendar sample and immediately ordered a big bag of it when I ran out, skipping the sample size entirely. If I could drink this entirely for a week, I would be beyond happy. A bit of sugar makes this one absolutely delightful. It’s family member approved too, lmao!

This tastes like straight up cough syrup. Even upon opening it for the first time I was met with a strong smell of cough syrup. I normally love cherry things but not cough syrup flavor cherry!
I didn't get any almond flavor either and I was really looking forward to that.
After adding a little almond milk it was a little better but still barely drinkable. I don't think I'll be able to drink anymore than that 1 cup.

The way this tea tastes exactly like a cherry Bakewell tart blows my mind. The marzipan is creamy and smooth, and the Cherry is just overpowering enough to where it tastes like jam. I didn't get a good second step out of this tea, very much as single Steve t. A little bit of honey and nothing else... I think it would probably be really good with cream, that's my next experiment

I purchased hoping for something natural tasting with cherry flavor and I like oolong because they are more forgiving that black teas. Well, this definitely has that artificial cherry lozenge or cough syrup flavor. I also am not enjoying the almond flavor, it is somewhat perfume like to my taste buds. I tried cold brewing it and that helped. I added some chai tea to it and that rounded it out some and balanced out the overbearing artificial sweetener taste. Since I had to fiddle faddle with this to enjoy it and used spice to offset the flavor, I am deducting a couple of stars. I will give it three stars because it is a very smooth tea and it does deliver on the flavor, it just is not what I expected. This is coming from someone who typically enjoys oolong tea and teas on the sweet side. My partner loved it but he has more of a sweet tooth than me. So, the packet won't be wasted but I would suggest try before you a buy--I wish I had just gotten a small sample.
