I gave it a chance, but this is not for me. It just has too much of a floral finish.
The fruity, sweet notes of cherry play with the soft, nutty flavor of marzipan.

I gave it a chance, but this is not for me. It just has too much of a floral finish.
I want to love this tea. The description speaks to me. The flavors are ones I love. The aroma and flavor... a big disappointment. Every time. The oolong in the background is nice and smooth, there is maybe a hint of almond in there somewhere, and the cinnamon is a complete no-show. All of it gets overwhelmed by the overly fake tasting cherry and the floral, soapy rose - the combination of which smells & tastes more like lotion than something drinkable. Overall, it's fine (though I would give it 2.5 stars if I could). I just wish it tasted more like what gets conjured in my head after reading the description. I received this in my communitea pack. While others really loved this tea, the cherry was very overwhelming for me, to the point that all I could taste was cough medicine. I'm assuming mine must have had a large amount of the cherry flavoring or something, since others had different experiences. A shame, too, since it sounded right up my alley!
It really does smell like cherry lollypops that you could get as a kid. The flavour does transfer over well when steeped too.
I love cherry and almond, so I thought this tea was very good! Cherry flavor could be stronger in my opinion, but maybe I just need to brew it longer. There's also a cinnamon flavor to it, which I could do without, it doesn't seem to enhance the other flavors.
The flavor kind of reminds me of cherry cough syrup, but I like it regardless.
Cherry, check! Almond, check! hmm;
Rest room air freshener at Sally’s Cafe;
Tea or air freshener...pass
Really enjoy this strongly flavored tea. The cherry flavor is the dominant player, but the almond makes it nicely nutty too. It's a bit floral with the rose but not overly so. The oolong tea provides a nice, smooth base.
I got the free sample of this blend through the 2020 flavor 'election.' Cherry Marzipan Oolong didn't win but I'm glad to see it finally came to fruition like I hoped it would. This tea is good but has the slightest hint of cherry cough drop flavor. However, I find the almond smooths it out quite nicely.
Ew. I usually love cherry flavored things (candy, ice cream, pie, etc.) but I did NOT like this tea. I assume it was the almond flavor that was more of a turn off. I detected no cinnamon or rose flavors at all, which might've been a saving grace.
It smells very fruity and taste similar to its scent, but this was just not the tea for me.
I was very excited to try this tea. There was a strong pleasant cherry aroma in the bag. I steeped it at 190F for 3 minutes. I found the flavor to be overwhelmingly perfumed, with a soapy quality. Cherry flavor did peak through, but not the almond. Adding sugar did not help the cause. I did get the free sample with a previous order and I will try it again after removing the rose petals.
It smelled good, but did not taste so. It was overwhelmingly perfumy, like licking a wax melt. There was no cherry or almond taste to speak of. I finished the cup, but was glad I had no more.
It has a very soft cherry scent and is very smooth. For flavor I could taste a hint of almond and some cherry. I added some rock sugar to sweeten it a bit.
So, I was super excited about this one once I opened the CommuniTEA packet because it smelled heavenly. While hot, this one tastes exactly as advertised. As it cooled, though, it started to taste more and more medicinal. If you drink this while it's hot, you'll probably really like it but yikes once it starts to go tepid or cold.
I had the opportunity to try this tea for the first time in the Adagio December advent calendar, and now that it's been released via the communiTEA, I can finally leave my review. Cherry flavoring isn't my favorite, as it can be a bit reminiscent of Robitussin, but in this blend it provides an interesting twist on an otherwise fairly bog standard flavored oolong. The base tea is well-oxidized, and provides a pleasantly fragrant/mineral undergirding for the sweetness of the cherry, almond, and cinnamon flavors. I don't remember there being cinnamon in the last packet, but here it's a welcome addition that rounds out the rest of the cup in a way I felt it needed. I wouldn't buy this one necessarily, but I would wishlist it. (4 mins @ 195 F, no additions)
I joined communiTea for the experience of tasting new and different types of teas. So when I realized cherry marzipan oolong was today’s sample I was so excited, especially since I missed the free offer by a day. Lol, on top of it l savor the taste of marzipan in anything and so admire 🌸 cherry blossoms on my trees. Lol!! As today’s tea steeped a delicious almost sweet aroma appeared, not perfumery. But As I sipped a overpowering rush of 🌹 liquid Rose assaulted my tongue, leaving a confusing flavor behind maybe combination of almond and cherries?. 🍒 Hmmm
I so wanted to love this tea, 🥴but one cup was definitely enough for me.
Trying along with the CommuniTEA today: Lots of strong cherry scent reminiscent of Ludens cherry cough drops noticed from the dry ingredients and packet. One steeped for 3 mins at 212°F, I noticed a sort of overly toasted nut scent followed by a very subtle almond fragrance wafting my cup. I placed a few of the apple bits back in to my cup. When I take a sip, I do get more of that candy cherry with a little bit of marzipan essence with a trace of cinnamon. As the cup cools and the strong cherry dissipates some, the almond becomes more noticeable. I imagine the marzipan-like experience would be improved by adding some sweetener and maybe even a tiny dash of salt to bring out the nuttiness.
Ive tried cheery almond teas before, and have always been disappointed. No longer! This was delicious, I loved the scent of this blend right from the packet. I absolutely will be buying larger amounts and judging by many if the reviews,i bet it sells out fast
The rose petals really ruined it for me, as I'm not a fan of heavily floral teas and this cup was rose forward. Otherwise, I'd give the cherry and almond flavors a meh - they were a little fake tasting.
The CommuniTea Packet today is cherry marzipan oolong, with oolong tea, cinnamon, apple pieces, rose hips, wild cherry and almond flavors, cherries & rose petals. Flavored teas can be polarizing in the CommuniTea group, and this one probably won't be the exception. Flavors in general, like spices, are tricky. One person's perfection is either too faint or too strong for someone else. Finding the ideal Goldilocks position must be hard for a blender. When I opened the packet, it smelled like Luden's cough drops. But hey, I can handle Luden's. :-) It brewed to a lovely orange red, something you might see in the sky at sunset. It was very clear and almost glistened in the glass teapot. The rose petals were more obvious to me now. Once I tasted it, I understood the people who felt it was medicinal. The primary aftertaste for me were the petals, rather than cherries or almonds. I found it drinkable -- something I'll consume if offered a cup, but not necessarily something I'd stock up on. (Brewed in 12 ounces of water at 190°F for 4 minutes.)
So, this is a slightly slanted review, because I only had a sample size and messed up by adding too much water on my first steep. It made it weak and hard to detect the flavors. On the second steep, I added a tsp of chocolate tea as well. OH BOY was that a good idea! So my 5 stars is with a modification, but I would hands down use this tea to make that modification on the regular! Adding the chocolate enhanced the cherry flavor on the second steep and it just felt completely decadent!
Cherry and almond; cooperating nicely; playing in my tea!
Maybe a new friend; like whipped creamer may visit; for a fun playdate?
Adagio makes great cherry teas, this one included. Strong cherry flavor with a hint of almond. Love it!
In the packet the dry leaves smell exactly like a Luden's cherry cough drop to me but not in a bad way. The cherry candy aroma is still there after brewing, but toned down a bit and balanced by roasted and nutty notes. The predominant flavor is the oolong, which is smooth and mild. I can taste the cherry almond if I'm looking for it, but it's much lighter than I would have expected based on how strong the scent is. There is a subtle hint of sweet cinnamon that warms up the finish, but I can't detect the rose petals at all. This tea was already pretty sweet with nothing added to it, so I can see it being a nice dessert tea with a little added sweetener for those who want something to satisfy a sweet tooth. I enjoyed this one, but the overall body and flavor were a little light for my preferences. I have a larger sample bag so looking forward to trying different brewing methods.
This tea smells amazing! The flavor is a mild cherry flavor with even milder almond notes. Extremely silky mouthfeel.
I steeped for 4mins at 200°F
The cherry scent was very strong, maraschino. It carries throughout as the predominant flavor, in fact I didn’t detect much almond. As a cherry fan, this tea is alright. I’m not sure what would make it better, but it’s a little more like koolaid than any other discernible flavor. That said, I added ice and it’s so much better. I think it would be really good cold-brewed. I’m going to add my leftover leaves to a water bottle in my fridge and try the second brewing in the morning.
Cherry and buttery almond notes in my communitea packet today. Goes well with a sliver of chocolate mousse cake...but so does every other tea ;)
I have heard rumors that this tea is going to be made illegal in 5 states and completely banned in most of Europe. Why? Because this blend is THAT sinfully delicious!! To put it into perspective, I usually go out of my way to avoid cherry, yet I wish I had a room in my house for stockpiling Cherry Marzipan Oolong.
When you open up the packet, you are met with a strong cherry aroma which, at first, was a huge turn-off for me. But I was brave! As it was brewing, a bit more of the other notes came out. I detected almond, cherry, cinnamon, and even the oolong base. The combination is really amazing.
Wanna know how it tastes? Just like it smells. An indulgent combination of nutty, fruit flavors with a hint of cinnamon and delicious oolong. None of the flavors stand out more than the others, especially when the tea is cooled a bit. Adding sugar brings everything out even more and the almond and cinnamon notes becomes a little more dominant. It really is dessert in a cup!
Making it even better is the fact that you can brew this tea more than once and it still tastes just as delicious. I got three cups from the CommuniTEA packet and they all retained the same great flavor.
I kept hoping for a cherry tea and was really excited to try this because I love almonds too. The smell is incredible both the leaves and in your cup. But to me there was something off about drinking it. I added some sugar but it didn’t hit the mark for me.
Would be five star except the slightly medicinal flavor that comes with cherry. I prefer just the almond oolong.
Now this is a cherry almond I can get behind! So many of the cherry flavored teas have rose added to them and I can not stand rose.
When I first started trying other teas besides fandoms I actually got a bag of cherry and a bag of almond to try to make this flavor. ( It did not work due to the rose)
The minute I opened this package I knew I would like this! The tart cherry and nutty aroma. I steeped a little long setting up my picture. But I can still tell this is an excellent flavor profile!
This is the most amazing tea I've ever had in my entire life. Cherry and Marzipan are two of my absolutely favorite flavors, and I had never even THOUGHT to combine the two <3
I really loved this! The flavors mix so well together. Didn't need to add anything to it to enjoy it more.
This has a light cherry flavor that's really nice and doesn't taste artificial.
This is a new tea for me. I was a little worried that it would be too sweet but that's not the case. The cherry and marzipan go so well together that it makes it a delicious dessert tea. And because it's Oolong, it's perfect. I steep for 4 minutes and it brings out all of the delicious flavors, that really compliment each other.
Smelling it in the bag is heaven! You smell the cherry and marzipan. However, the taste is pretty bitter and boring. Even when sipping, you can smell the flavors, but the taste reminds me of drinking Lipton tea with no sugar.
Really, really strong cherry flavor for me and it made me miss the almond flavor I thought would be present. Still, not bad, just not my favorite.
Gonna be honest. I was super excited to try this tea. The smell from the open packet was delicious. The tea smelled so good once brewed. But... in the cup it was bland. Barely noticeable flavor.
I'm going to try brewing it strong next time (like I would for ice tea), and if my opinion changes, I ll update this review.
UPDATE: Brewing it stronger, adding a lot of sugar, and drinking it hot made it a little better, but it's still not the flavor bomb I was hoping for.
This is a lovely Spring tea! The balance of flavors is perfect to me.
