Oof. The sage is really overpowering in this tea. I tried it at different steep temps and times, and I tried it both hot and cold, but no matter how I prepared it, the sage just really punched me right in the mouth. If the balance were better I could see this becoming a staple in my collection, because in general I love the blackberry sage combination, but as it currently stands, I won't be purchasing more of this tea.

After reading a review on a different tea which referenced this one, I decided to give it a try and so glad I did! This is my favorite oolong I’ve had. Wonderful flavoring, great to have midday for a little pick me up

Yummy! This a well balanced blend of blackberry and sage. After adding a teaspoon of heavy whipping cream, the blackberry flavor came out even more.

Absolutely delicious, and a new favorite for sure!

I was intrigued by this tea, so I tossed a sample in with my next order. I'm so glad I did!

The tea itself is beautiful, dark and lovely with bright pops of raspberry and dusty-green bits of sage. It smells incredible, as well - if Adagio ever comes out with a candle in this scent, I'll buy 50.

Steeped, it's a light, warm shade of chestnut and remains deliciously fragrant. When hot, sweet and round blackberry and raspberry flavors were most prominent, with a noticeable hint of sage. As it cooled, the sage quickly took the forefront. Across the board, oolong made for a warm, mellow, base for these flavors.

My biggest worry was that this would be a blackberry oolong with a bit of sage thrown in for color. That would still have been a decent tea, but I'm so glad to have been wrong. This one will be a mainstay for me, especially in the fall!

This is a very light tea, the flavor is strong but not overwhelming. A few sugar rocks to add a bit of sweetness and it's good to go.

It's got a nice fruity flavor. It's my go-to whenever free samples are included in my orders. Finally sitting down and buying some. It's great in the morning and at night.

Absolutely love this. Such great flavor. Add honey for a little extra sweetness.

★★★★★

Such a tasty little tea! The drink is deliciously earthy as some of the more traditional teas while also presenting a sweeter aftertaste similar to that of a fruit tea! Certainly up for a re-order!

I wasn’t too sure that I would really like this one but the sage cuts the sweetness of the black so just enough to make it a well balanced tea in my opinion

★★★★☆

I'm amending my old review. It's grown on me. May like it even more than the grapefruit oolong.

A unique tea, if you specifically like these flavors you'd enjoy this tea.

★★★☆☆

The hints of sage are pleasant, but the blackberry tasted very artificial.

★★★★★

This tea is really good- the sage is strong but it balances really well with the blackberry and oolong flavors. Definitely good if you typically like floral teas like myself.

Have read so many good reviews on this that I finally had to try and was very glad I did. I think I have become a big fan of oolongs and paired with the blackberry and sage makes for a delightful drink. I usually add a little sugar or honey but you don’t have to.

★★★★★

I was skeptical of this tea, but my stepmom tried and it said it was really, really good. Sage seems off-putting in concept, since I generally prefer it either as an incense or a savory spice, but this tea is GREAT. Very complex.

A rich oolong tea but you must like sage! Though it has a subtle offset of berries added it does have that sage taste as the main flavor. Blended With Oolong Tea, Sage, Raspberry Leaves, Natural Blackberry Flavor, Raspberries. Worth the try!

Love the sweet, yet savory flavor of the Blackberry Sage Oolong tea. Perfect combination of flavor profiles, where one does not stand out above the other. My favorite end of night cup of tea.

The entire family loves this tea, hot or cold, just use extra tea if you're icing it down

★★★★★

Love it! The sage isn't overpowering and the blackberry is just sweet enough.

★☆☆☆☆

Yeah, this is horrible. On opening the bag, it smells sickly sweet, with a huge artificial vanilla note. You can't smell the tea whatsoever, nor can you smell blackberry.

I decided to throw it into a batch of iced tea, because on aroma alone, I wasn't about to brew this hot. I brewed a pitcher of half this tea, and half Assam Melody (a pretty ordinary but good black tea that Adagio also sells). Low volume water to make a tea concentrate, and filled out the rest of the pitcher with cold water.

All I can taste is artificial flavoring. The sage is there, but it gets steamrolled by a really unpleasant, cloying fake vanilla flavor. I'm pretty well-acquainted with blackberries -- growing up in California, I used to pick buckets and buckets of them in high summer, and we used to use both the berries to cook with, and the leaves to set to dry and make a lovely tea with. This doesn't taste anything like even cheap store-bought blackberry, and instead just tastes like it was sprayed/dusted with something very cloying and man-made. I think the flavor combination of blackberry and sage could be totally cool, but this tea does neither of these well. It tastes bad, even when the pot is 50/50 this and a strong black tea.

Really disappointing. Avoid it.

This is such a flavorful tea. The blackberry really stands out on this and adds a refreshing flavor to it. I am not sure on the temp, I just did boiling and it did fine.

Pleasant enough, but I associate the smell of hot sage with smudging, so the scent-memories make this a confusing cup for me. A little sweetener brings out the blackberry flavors, but I still wish they were a bit stronger.

★★★★★

Super earthy tea with a nice blackberry taste to balance it all out. Reminds me of an herb garden. Perfect for rainy days imo.

★★★★★

My favorite adagio blend I've tried so far. I'm a huge fan of earthy flavors, and this tea really delivers that—the faint sweetness of blackberries paired with the sharp, yet not overpowering scent of sage reminds me much of a misty forest morning, when you can smell petrichor and wild plants.
In terms of flavor, it's surprisingly smooth. It starts off quite sweet, with a prevalent blackberry note which quickly merges with the fresh, earthy sage. Though it might not seem like the two flavors would compliment each other, they blend together very smoothly; perhaps it's the faintly citrus-y flavor of the sage that compliments the transition from a sweetness to a tartness to a rounded finish that leaves you wanting another sip. All I know is that I really enjoy it.
My favorite part of this tea is the balance of flavors. Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of super fruity teas—I much prefer the fruit to compliment the rest of the tea's flavor, rather than overpower it, which is exactly what I love about this tea. The sweet blackberry melds with a stronger flavor of sage, but the sage isn't so prevalent that it distracts from a smooth sip. Some people might prefer a stronger blackberry flavor, and that's okay! We all have our preferences. Personally, though, I love this tea the way that it is.

This is my absolute favorite Adagio tea. It's a perfect combination of fruity and herbal, with the sage lending a natural sweetness to the oolong. It's equally good hot or iced, which means it's a cabinet staple all year round.

Discovered this tea on the 2020 Advent Calendar for Day 10. It was richly delicious on the first, second, and third steepings. I immediately ordered it in the larger sizes. Sage is present at the beginning of the taste and the blackberry adds a delicious earthy sweetness — more like natural blackberry juice from fresh blackberries than like a sweetened blackberry pie. Will repurchase this as long as I can.
