Full confession: black powdered tea isn't new. Centuries ago, teas were baked and shaped into rounds or rectangles so that the tea would survive the long trek traders traveled along the Silk Road. When these stalwart men paused for a cup of tea, they broke off a piece from one of the bricks, crushed it into a powder, put it into a cup, and added hot water. Made from Golden Monkey, the classic black that's a tippy gold wonder redolent with floral notes, our black matcha is easier to use than the original tea brick and a lot neater!Questions and Answers
