I am getting use to Matcha. It is a new flavor me. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars.
Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

This is delicious - we love all of the Matchas, and this one fits right in!
Matcha Chocolate latte's are my new morning go-to! This is a great wake up tea! Easy to make and very enjoyable to drink. Make with milk instead of water for an even creamier matcha!
Wonderful tasting tea. Add a little bit of honey to sweeten...yum!
I was definitely not a fan of this Matcha Chocolate, which was a bummer for me as I love matcha! This flavor seemed to have a crayon-like taste, for lack of better words. I m glad I ordered the sample size and not anything larger. I think I will try the traditional matcha next to see if it was the chocolate flavoring that caused the off taste or the matcha itself. Would not purchase again, unfortunately.
This one's not for me, I'm afraid. I couldn't really taste the chocolate over the grassy green flavor of the matcha.
I really like this tea although the Matcha Tea taste took a little getting used to. I like the hint of chocolate that doesn't overpower the taste of the Matcha. Just ordered my second canister.
I really dug this tea. You definitely can taste the slight hint of chocolate but as many of the other reviews have said putting a little bit of sweetener (honey for me :) and a splash of milk for a wonderful hot beverage that has a natural pick me up every morning. Really loving it and would recommend.
I enjoy the flavor of this tea but the powder gets stuck in my infuser making a mess. I use a coffee filter and it helps a lot.
Left something to be desired, there was a lack of sweetness that I was hoping for.
awesome and great tasting matcha. will have to order more nest time on ly wish it was stronger in taste.
I think I am not a match fan overall but this was good. I definitely got the chocolate when it cooled a little. Will try with warm milk next
For some reason, I was expecting this to go heavy on the Chocolate to balance the strong matcha. On the contrary, this was a Matcha experience with just a hint of sweet chocolate. It smells great and the taste is everything it promises to be.
It’s different and has a unique taste , I like it.
This matcha coats your mouth like eating rich chocolate. The actual chocolate flavor is not very strong though.
This tastes exactly like the regular, non-flavored matcha. As with Adagio's raspberry matcha, the only difference that I can find between the flavored and the non-flavored version is a difference in the scent. The regular matcha tastes great so 4 stars for that. However, I'm taking away 1 star for the lack of bold, chocolate flavor.
I usually try all my matcha's unsweetened. I couldn't really taste the chocolate flavor (but could smell it). I added one pack of Splenda Naturals and BAM chocolate flavor. Zero calories. What a great healthy way to start the day! I am so thankful that Adagio makes unsweetened flavored matchas! I am so happy with this purchase. Will definitely order again!
This was a present to myself. The chocolatey taste doesn't overpower the flavor of the matcha, and they work very nicely together in the cup. This isn't a hot cocoa type chocolate flavor, but I can admit I have thought about adding this to hot cocoa a few dozen times. Very pleasant on a cool morning.
This is my first matcha tea selection. Very green tasting with a hint of chocolate. I have had wheat grass and this is very similar. I will explore other matcha flavors as this was a success.
I loved this! It goes really well in morning smoothies! I blend a cup of ice, a cup of coconut milk, a teaspoon of matcha, and a bit of honey together; Yum!! I tastes really nice hot too! I actually added it to hot chocolate the other day, which also turned out really well.
Nice little addition to my morning cup of tea, especially with the chocolate touch!
I like the flavor but it was a little gritty. That may have been my fault though as I am not familiar with the machta powder teas.
I’m in love with this chocolate matcha. It’s brilliant as a morning pick me up either in smoothies or whisked in a bowl. While it’s certainly not as delicately flavored as ceremonial matches, the chocolate makes it a nice choice for daily drinking.
This has a hint of chocolate and you can still taste the Green Matcha. I put sweetner in mine to bring out the chocolate flavor.
Just not really worth it. The 'chocolate' flavor makes this matcha too bitter and takes away way too much about what makes matcha so great. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say this doesn't resemble a chocolate flavor-infused matcha at all
This makes a delicious brew. I have not yet tried adding it to a smoothie, but I do make a cup of matcha (1 12 cups actually) and add 1/2 cup of heated, frothed unsweetened soymilk to make a substantial morning latte. Within 10 minutes I am AWAKE!
Not my favorite. I am sending it to my Daughter. She loves Matcha Teas, so maybe she will appreciate it more.
I never really tried making my own cup before so I did not know what to expect. I thought it was ok, not my favorite
The chocolate flavor in this is pretty light. I actually added chocolate syrup to mine to intensify it, and it s absolutely stunning. The tin is also much bigger than I expected! Refreshing find when (good) matcha can carry a higher price tag.
Talk about having energy for five hours. Quick and easy to make.
This matcha smells so good. Was a nice addition to my smoothie this morning.
Maybe something was wrong with the way I prepared it... This is the first time I've tried matcha tea.
I tend to enjoy sweeter teas more. Chocolate teas don't necessarily guarantee it will be sweet, but I find that it does give it some sort of potential.
To keep this short, it didn't give it much potential. I didn't really taste any hint of chocolate at all, to be honest. Tasted more like powdered grass mixed with hot water.
I actually attempted to prepare my taste buds for the tea by buying a box of matcha flavoured Pocky. It wasn't enjoyable then and unfortunately neither was the real thing. Maybe this has to do with my general inexperience with matcha teas? Who knows? Maybe this will be updated in the future.
Yum, this is so good, a light chocolate taste with a creamy matcha taste. Love this!!
My first time trying matcha and this was amazing. Can not wait to try more.
I am still getting used to the matcha flavor but would recommend for those that want to sample matcha
The kids really liked this one. Smooth cocoa taste.
This is my new morning tea! Opening the tin smells like opening a cannister of hot cocoa mix. I add a small dollop of honey to very lightly sweeten it; the chocolate tones really do a lot to cut through that 'bleh' green matcha taste. Closing your eyes and drinking it, you wouldn't know you weren't drinking unsweetened hot chocolate. I LOVE this tea, and will be ordering more!
I enjoyed this Matcha Chocolate. It had that Matcha earthy flavor with a little something extra. I added some raw honey to sweeten for a great treat!
Talk about the yummiest matcha ever! If you do not like the super earthy tasting matcha - this one is for you. With just a touch of honey - it is ready to go. I make this as a latte with almond milk in the mornings and it keeps me a nice flow of energy for the day.
Love it!! You can smell the chocolate as soon as you open the bag. In the tea, once brewed, the chocolate is not overwhelming and you still get the greeny taste of the matcha.
Ordered a sample to try matcha tea, and it just was not for me smelled and tasted bad. For people who like plain green tea or know they have a taste for matcha this would be perfect.
I put a teaspoon of this right in my morning smoothie. It adds such an amazing amount of antioxidants and gives me great energy throughout the day. Love the flavor it adds, too.
Excellent! Adding a little bit of honey or sugar really brings out the cocoa flavor. So tasty!
I love the flavor of this Matcha. Smells amazing too!
I've tried dozens of Adagio's products over the last several years and this takes the cake. The chocolate flavor is so subtle but perfect.
I like it! I will be ordering again in the future...
I drink this every day - with a little almond milk and ice - and it's delicious. As with all adagio flavored matcha, the flavoring is so light and there's no sweetener, so the chocolate is just a tiny hint of something extra.
This Matcha tea has a nice chocolate scent in the bag, but after brewing, I could neither identify a chocolate taste nor scent any more. The taste is good, like normal Matcha tea.
I wasn't originally in love with this matcha. I like the blueberry so well and was curious about this flavor. I ended up adding two drops of peppermint oil to the canister and turned it into a peppermint mocha flavor and now I love it!
This is going to be a great Christmas gift. I have never purchased anything from Adagio that my wife and I have not liked. This is the greatest tea shop with the best service.
