Could not really taste the chocolate too much. I made with equal 1 cup of tea to 1 cup of milk and it tasted delicious.
Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

Could not really taste the chocolate too much. I made with equal 1 cup of tea to 1 cup of milk and it tasted delicious.
Good flavor, and was surprised I liked it. But it had way too much caffeine for me. I gave it to a friend after one cup.
I love this tea! It has a nice earthy taste with a hint of chocolate. The caffeine level is nice too but without the jitters one might get from coffee.
It tastes different from regular matcha, but I wouldn't exactly call it a 'chocolate' taste. Not a remotely strong one to my tongue, anyway.
Delicious! Seems very high quality and has the best aftertaste of chocolate!
Might just be the sample I got- but sadly the matcha was denatured and fishy tasting, even when I double checked it wasn't getting steeped at too high a temp.
When you smell this matcha, you definitely get a rich chocolate smell. However when you taste it, the chocolate is very subtle. If you like straight matchas, this is a good one, but if you are looking for a decadent chocolate flavor, this is not for you. I will try it next as a latte or with a small amount of honey to enhance the chocolate flavor.
This is my first time trying flavored matcha. I found it to be odd when unsweetened, but if I sweeten it (with sugar or honey), it's absolutely delicious, like drinking hot chocolate tea. It may not be very 'healthy' when sweetened that way, but it is really delicious, and definitely something I will order again to continue treating myself. I suppose it's healthier than standard hot chocolate, amirite?!
Lightly chocolately, but mostly matcha. I'd actually suggest maybe using this not as a drink, but perhaps as an additive in baking.
This is WAY better than the matcha hot chocolate I ordered months ago. That was like a chalky hot chocolate. This, in contrast, is a nicely chocolatey matcha.
It's excellent matcha tea with the faintest hint of chocolate, just how I like it! Great boost first thing in the morning.
If you’re having a lull in your matcha experience, this is a great flavor to try if you have a sweet tooth! Makes an excellent matcha latte too!
I'm always in search of the best match powder to replicate a healthier version of the Starbucks green tea frappucino. I can't say that I noticed much chocolate flavor to this but it is so yummy that I'll be getting more!
Nice matcha. Doesn’t taste much like chocolate, but it tastes like matcha so I am happy.
As others have mentioned, the chocolate flavor is very mild. I didn't try adding some sort of sweetener, which apparently brings out the chocolate flavor, but I might try it!
Love the taste not what I expected but in a good way
The subtle chocolate really complements the matcha. It really makes for a great latte.
Not exactly the strongest of chocolate flavor from it but still a very good tea when made properly.
This tea is amazing. It’s not too heavy on the chocolate and has a wonderful balance. I found myself drinking too much of it because it is so good. I highly recommend trying a sample!
Pathetic matcha quality with no chocolate taste at all. Will not buy again and do not recommend if you like matcha or have ever been to japan. Buy the japan tea box set instead it’s much better.
I love the traditional green matcha and often make warm lattes with vanilla sugar. I was excited to try the chocolate variety and was a little disappointed that the chocolate flavors were not very pronounced. I'm still a fan though and will buy again.
This was super delicious, but matcha in general is on the expensive side.
Really can’t taste the chocolate but good matcha, blends nicely
I’ll start by saying that I am a big dark chocolate fan, and I love a little bit of delicious bitterness. This matcha delivers on the flavor. The chocolate isn’t extremely pronounced, but it’s a good flavor and blends very well with the matcha.
I love the tarte of green tea. Good matcha, but the chocolate taste is very subtle.
I just adore using this in my cooking whenever I possibly can.
I can see why people might compare this to hot cocoa, but, when prepared straight or with small amounts of honey, isn't really the same. it's certainly got solid chocolate notes, and I could say it tastes strongly of grass in exactly the same way I could say your first night with a treasured lover feels like a strip club serving PBR in cans.
if you know your matcha: it's certainly not the worst I've ever tried, and any that might compete are obscured from precise comparison by the mists of time.
This is a great matcha, but it doesn’t taste chocolatey at all. The smell is a little misleading.
Love this tea. I switch between the peach and chocolate matcha depending on mood and time of day. I swear they both have a stress relieving quality and also is a great pick me up when tired and stressed. Highly recommended.
After reading other reviews I was very excited to try this tea, I ordered the sample size because I wasn't sure if it would live up to the hype. It is amazing, I will be ordering more ASAP.
This was a gift for a friend. She says that the chocolate doesn't overpower the matcha flavor at all. And that it's a good balance between the flavors. She's used this to make muffins and other deserts too that have turned out well.
I really enjoy Matcha Chocolate. I find it robust and tasty, and it gives me energy into the night without jitters. Really smooth and wonderful.
This matcha is tasty, but the chocolate flavor is so subtle I wonder if there is any actual cacao in it. In my opinion, it's not worth buying as a separate matcha. You may as well just eat a square of dark chocolate with your cup of traditional matcha. It was still tasty as a regular matcha and I would drink it again, but I'll probably just buy more of the traditional matcha.
On a side note, I made a matcha latte with this this morning, but I steeped some of the Adagio chocolate chip black tea in the warm oat milk before combining it with the dissolved matcha - now that packed a tasty punch!
I really like this tea and it's taste. It is healthy for you.
The matcha is good and I can smell the chocolate, but I don't really taste chocolate.
Very good quality Matcha! It was a bit light on the chocolate flavor though.
The matcha is nice and smooth with the soft chocolate flavor. I love mixing it with other chocolate teas to amp the flavor.
I honestly can’t go a day without this. I add it to almond moo every morning with some collagen and chocolate pea protein.
I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. The chocolate smooths out the earthy tones of the matcha.
Not sure I really taste the chocolate flavor, but the tea is very smooth to drink. Peach is still my favorite flavor.
I have really enjoyed this turned into a matcha latte with coconut milk. Perfect not-too-sweet afternoon pick me up.
Chocolate is very very subtle. But the matcha itself is quite good.
I d say it definitely comes down to personal preference, but if you re looking for a strong chocolate-y matcha, this may not be the right choice. It s still a great matcha, but I was definitely a bit disappointed by how subtle the chocolate flavour is.
I do like the light chocolate in the matcha, but I tend to add at least a little sugar. It's nice with a bit of milk as well.
I enjoy a little sweetness in my matcha, so I used the green tea honey (just 1 pump) and it was absolutely delightful. The aroma is really nice.
While the matcha is standard adagio quality, I found the chocolate taste lacking. While you can certainly smell the chocolate when you open the bag, the scent doesn t transfer into flavor. The only time I could really taste chocolate was when I reached the last sip or two from my cup.
So very delicious. I don't even want my regular matcha now that I have tasted this chocolate matcha. It is subtle but so good.
I think maybe I just don't like matcha. This sounded interesting to me because I was imagining it to be like hot cocoa, but forgot that hot cocoa using actual cocoa powder is always gritty, and so is this. I'll save the rest of this to make cookies or cupcakes or something out of next time as a replacement for cocoa powder, because I just can't drink this.
I have to say that this is a delicious tea to enjoy. No matter what I purchase froM this store it's top quality. Highly recommend any of their teas.
Delicious high-quality match with a hint of chocolate flavor.
