Matcha Chocolate Customer Reviews

Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

This is my first time with real Matcha, and I'm so impressed and addicted. I wish I had ordered a bigger portion, cause a matcha latte with almond milk is the perfect pick me up. The chocolate flavor is subtle, but present. The powder is very fine

★★★★★

Great matcha powder from adagio. Add in some sugar and some cream, and it turns into a nice matcha late!

★★★★★

This chocolate matcha tea is delicious. Its not to sweet, a nice balance of cocoa and matcha flavor.

★★★★★

Definitely chocolate, definitely matcha, definitely delicious! As any matcha should be, this is a very fine, green powder. It combines readily with a little hot water using a frother. I then added some warm almond milk and a little sweetner. It needed nothing else. I haven't tried this iced or blended yet, but I am sure looking forward to it!

★★★★☆

Pretty flavorful!! Really good quality matcha. Don’t add too much or it’s strong but is a winner for sure. After steeping you can add milk or something to cool
It also!

I love their matcha, but the chocolate is so subtle in the latte that I really have to pay attention to taste it.

My big brother and I loved it it was super good, I'm gonna get another one since my brother took the first

I love buying matcha tea when I’m out so I thought the flavored matcha here would be cheaper and better than a drink shop, However, after several tries I still haven’t figured out how to mix it without making a huge mess with the very fine powder.

★★★★★

Very good, surprisingly so. The chocolate taste is very mild, which is nice, because you still feel more like you're drinking matcha than hot chocolate — but there's just a hint of that 'hot chocolate vibe' to add some rich coziness to the cup. A wonderful winter drink! Although now I'm tempted to try it iced...

★★★★☆

This was ok. The chocolate flavor was so subtle it was very close to a normal matcha (which is still good, just nothing special)

★★★☆☆

I couldn't really taste the chocolate, but it did have a depth and undertone. It was good, but I was hoping for more chocolate punch!

★★★★☆

This matcha smells like it has a good chocolate flavor, but doesn't taste like it. There's just a hint of chocolate flavor. It still tastes good if you like matcha, but if you're looking for a more chocolate flavored matcha try Adagio's matcha hot chocolate.

While I like the tea, Matcha Chocolate isn't my favorite. I never quite got the chocolate after-taste, which, to me, doesn't make it worth the extra cost.

★★★★★

Love this Matcha! I make it as a matcha latte- delicious!

This Matcha is very good, no bitter taste and just a hint of chocolate. I wish the larger size came in a tin, I'd order it.

★★★★★

Some have noted the presence of a chocolate note in this matcha. I don't really taste it (but as a matcha, this tea tastes great!). I bought this variant because I had run out of standard matcha, and it was out of stock at the time (so I purchased this one as an alternative). There may be a subtle cocoa note in there, but it's not so prevalent that I noticed it. Perhaps this is because I primarily mix the matcha in my yogurt every morning--and preparing it as a hot beverage would bring out more of the cocoa-noted flavor. Either way, it's a great-tasting matcha as-is.

Delicious!!! One of the best matchas I’ve ever had, not very sweet at all surprisingly, perfectly balanced

I love matcha and love chocolate but this is not a good combination. It smelled like chocolate flavored cereal and didn’t taste very good.

This makes the most delicious iced matcha latte!! It's like chocolate milk but make it matcha! So good!

★★★★★

Oh my good Lord this is too good. I need to get an actual Matcha whisk for this now. I love it in hot milk, makes it taste almost like a Starbucks drink.

It's not chocolatey. But it does take the edge of possible bitterness of the green tea flavor. It's mellow overall alternative to just matcha.

It was okay, but I couldn’t really taste the chocolate. It was just like regular matcha, only a bit sweeter.

If you like just a touch of flavor in your matcha lattes you’ll love this one with a bit of coconut milk and sweetener of choice. It froths up nicely and has a great matcha taste

★★★★☆

I’m honestly making cake with the Matcha chocolate! I don’t love it as much as a drink or haven’t figured out a good recipe.

One of my favorites , put a small amount of chocolate honey in it . Yum so good.

A little sweet to make the matcha something extra.

This is a nice smooth matcha with a bright green color and little pop of chocolate. Some matcha is gross, this is not. I would recommend for all to try, esp if you had a bad experience with matcha as this may alter your opinion. Reminder not all matchas are equal and this is one of the better ones out there that's not an outrageous price.

This is a lovely, high-grade matcha tea. It has a slight chocolate smell, but the color is bright green, matching Adagio s ceremonial-grade matcha. Brewed at 170F, I don t notice much of a difference between this and Adagio s plain matcha - it froths up nicely, goes far, and tastes rich. It seems on a much higher level than Adagio s Matcha Sticks in terms of tea itself, but I definitely needed to add honey or coco powder to get a more notable chocolate flavor. I will give a warning about the packaging - this fine powder will cling to your sample envelope and explode everywhere if you try to expel air and zip it up. So if you are ordering a sample, size, consider having a tin on hand for a transfer and easier future use. Overall, I think I prefer a lower-quality powdered tea base with more flavor for my lattes and health drinks, since I mix in additives to get the flavor I want anyway. I do like this as a matcha, but I wouldn t have even known that this was chocolate flavored if I hadn t seen it on the package. @adagioteas

Absolutely beautiful, bright green, fine powder with a noticeable cocoa scent. No off fishy smell, so it's nice and fresh. NOT a hot chocolate mix. Not great by itself, so definitely add milk and sweetener to create a tasty hot or cold latte!

I was unsure if I was going to like the mixture of matcha and chocolate, but its actually surprisingly great. Not too sweet, just the right amount, and not overpowering.

★★★★★

Matcha chocolate is made of matcha tea with dark chocolate flavor. It tasted very much like the matcha I've had in tea shops, so I think it's good quality, but I'm still trying to find a way that I personally enjoy it. I whisked it in a pretty, but very underutilized matcha bowl.

Matcha is an acquired taste and not for everyone. I do not really taste the chocolate in this very much, however, I do still enjoy a good matcha tea. So far I have liked it the best with a half teaspoon of manuka honey. If you are hoping for a strong chocolate flavor I would not get your hopes up with this one.

★★★☆☆

I wasn't really a fan of this one. I was hoping to taste more chocolate.

WOW! I did not expect this to taste as good as it does. i could get addicted to this!

Delicious matcha with a good mix of chocolate flavor, great with milk and sugar.

I used my matcha kit I received as a gift to whisk and make this matcha. I personally think it’s a great flavor. What would make it one hundred percent perfect would be a tiny bit more chocolate notes, but for my taste buds the balance was great. It was not too grassy.

I haven't ever been the biggest matcha fan, but I decided to order some things to give it a try. This sounded interesting, and like a good introduction to the real stuff. I'm definitely happy with this choice. Earthy and grassy with just a hint of chocolate, was so sad I only got the sample size when I realized how good it was. Definitely will be coming back for more for this one.

This matcha has a nice dark chocolate taste to me. Dark chocolate isn't my preferred chocolate flavor and because of that, it wasn't as sweet as I was expecting. If you are a dark chocolate fan, this should be perfect for you.

The chocolate is more subtle but I love the depth it gives the matcha. Perfect for a change up to your typical matcha routine. Also love that it’s not packed with sugar like a lot of flavored matcha are

★★★★★

I ordered the sample first but now I'm hooked and definitely ordering the larger size. I tried it by itself first before deciding to add in a splash of hazelnut creamer and a teaspoon of sugar and it is -delightful!- If you're ever had Matcha flavored Pocky, it tastes just like that.

★★★★☆

I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed by the flavor. Mostly because I can not taste the chocolate out of it. But it is still a nice matcha flavor, therefore I'm leaving 4 stars.

★★★★★

This is really lovely. I think a little bit of sugar brings the chocolate flavor out more.

★★★★★

I am not the biggest fan of matcha for anything other than cooking, but this definitely has a very nice smell straight from the bag.

★★★★★

I really like to drink the chocolate matcha tea when I need a energy boost! Keeps me going all day! Great flavor if you prefer a matcha tea

I really enjoy this matcha, the chocolate gives it just the right amount of sweetness to really balance it.

I like the additional cocoa taste. Makes matcha taste better

★★★★★

Great tea for an afternoon sip. The chocolate flavor adds so much that you feel like you're having a very rich snack in the afternoon. Just watch the caffeine for the time of day.

it has an additional slightly artificial smelling chocolate scent to it, i was for some reason expecting a slightly muddy color because of the chocolate in the name, but the color was surprisingly good. The chocolate flavor compliments the matcha well and gives it a more well rounded, creamy feeling, if that makes sense (like the grassyness is less pronounced as some others have put it). The chocolate is more of a suggestion than anything, and I notice it most in the way it smells. Tastes great in lattes, have not tried alone though.

★★★★★

Outstanding chocolate matcha that is a pleasure to drink. I m newer to matcha overall, but have come to really enjoy this one. There is still the nice, grassy flavor, but a very good chocolate flavor as well. I didn t steep, but mixed in a matcha bowl with some 150 degree water until it was frothy, then added additional water to about the right level of thickness.

I was not sure about combining matcha and chocolate, but these two flavors complement each other beautifully! I may not go back to regular matcha.
