If you like an earthy flavored tea, this is no doubt the one to give a try.

★★★★★

This is the first 'mate' that I have tasted and I am truly a fan of it! I would recommend this to everyone

I tried nearly all of Adagio's mate varieties before I finally got around to trying just the plain ol' mate. I really should have started with this one, because it's one of the best! It is a very good, flavorful brew.

Lovely tea for morning noon and night. Will lift the spirits any time of day.

★★★★★

This is a delicious morning tea. I make a whole pot for my husband and I because one cup isn't enough!

★★★★★

My favorite breakfast brew. Has mild appetite suppressing qualities, too.

★★★★★

I think it's an acquired taste, but once I acquired the taste for yerba mate, I can't quit it. Adagio's tastes better than any other brand I've tried. It's smoky, toasty, earthily delicious and definitely caffeinated.

★★★★☆

Really delicious, but I bit on the smokey side for me. I think it is just yerba mate in general, so good but not my favorite :)

★★★★★

Good tasting mate, mixes well with anything. Definitely has a distinct earthy taste and almost reminded me of the smell of tobacco. Seemed to have the caffeine in it but it didn't wake me up like some other mates do.

really loved the taste of this one. Subtle yet strong in different notes it is a nice fall afternoon tea to kuddle up on the couch in a blanket.

★★★★★

Great energizing tea that doesn't give me the jitters or keep me up at night. I've completely given up coffee because of this tea, and my stomach has never been happier.

★★★★★

Really great earthy body with lots of flavor and doesn't become bitter if over brewed. A real delight with a caffeine kick!

★★★☆☆

Very herbal, almost medicinal taste. It's an interesting tea and has a kick, but I'm not crazy about the flavor. Could learn to like it, but for now, I won't be ordering more.

This stuff makes a tasty beverage, reminds me a little bit of a green tea but I am now somewhat anxious to compare it to tea from a yerba mate specific vendor for quality and price. I feel like I can notice the differentially higher levels of caffeine compared to regular tea but that may be my imagination. Either way, this may become my go to drink for when I am especially tired.

★★★★☆

Pretty decent mate... a little stronger on the grassy tobacco notes than I am accustomed to. This tends to blend really well... we blended some with Marsala Chai which was very good.

Close to what I had received from South America. All that is needed is a bombilla and a gourd.

After I studied abroad in South America, I grew to appreciate the taste of yerba mate. However, I wasn't a huge fan of this taste. It had a very strong grassy taste to it that I wasn't accustomed to.

★★★★☆

I bought this tea because of its claimed benefits of a good dietary supplement. The tea quality is good but i dislike the falvor its very aromatically unapealing to me but thats just my opinion

Something different. It has really earthy flavor (good) even when in cool water, if you use warmer water you get subtle tobacco like flavor (pungent if you over steep).

★★★★☆

I have been wanting to get into yerba mate teas for awhile now and this was a good way to do it. Adagio samplers are the way to go. I am still not sure if I am in love with mate, but I am glad I ordered it.

★★★★★

This is the first time I've had yerba mate. The taste is interesting and I love the energy boost.

★★★★☆

I didn't think I would like yerba mate - and ordered the sample reluctantly. Turns out it is a smooth tea with the richness of coffee without the bitterness. Can't wait to try it as a latte!

★★☆☆☆

I'm sure this yerba mate is perfectly good yerba mate. Most likely I just have a personal distaste for it, but the cup I brewed was dumped out after the first sip. This stuff is not for me.

★★★★☆

This mate was fairly decent. Its a nice coffee substitute and gets you up and going. This tea had more of a grassy or leafy flavor. Not exactly the best tasting mate I've had but still very good none-the-less.

This is the first time I have tried mate, so I have to be careful to comment on -this- mate, not just mate in general. Overall, I was impressed. This seemed very pure, without any unwanted plant parts, etc. This doesn't have the complexity of flavor I'm used to with tea, but that could be mate in general. Not too grassy.

★★★★☆

This was my first mate, so I don't know much, but it's very good. Fruitier than I expected, and a higher grade (less dust) than others I've had. I don't have a bombilla, I just steep it in my infuser, and that is fine. Tip: Make sure to use cool water.

Really good stuff, better than I expected. Tastes somewhat like a very flavorful green tea of sorts.

This taste just I like Remember it in Argentina. That light woody and grassy flavor. Its amazing.

Best out of a seasoned Mate gourd and bombilla. Hot water (never boiled)

★★★★★

I found that this does the significant caffeine lift without the jitters or crash that has been claimed. In terms of taste it has an excellent grassy taste, almost like lemon-grass mixed with green tea

If you like mate, you'll like this one. A smooth, nutty flavor.

★★★★☆

If you like yerba mate, then this is a pretty good one. It's strong and grassy (but in a good way). Definitely don't over steep.

★★★★☆

A fun tea if you happen to have a mate cup, but all the same if not. A good well-rounded mate.

4 min steep · 155°F

★★★★☆

Overall a quality mate with very few stems and mostly leaves. Somewhat of a grassy/earthy taste, but it does give you an energizing kick.

Not the best tasting 'tea' in the world, but it has the caffeine you want.

★★★★★

This is the second yerba mate I've ever tried and I like it a lot. Also my first purchase from Adagio and I am very satisfied so far!

★★★★☆

Its a pretty good mate. I like being able to blend it with the fruit teas, although the flavors never quite meld which is frustrating.

★★★★☆

This is an enjoyable tisane with similar traits to some green teas. It does have a vegetal taste to it, similar to some greens, but has a different aftertaste. I found it refreshing and didn't cause any jitteriness. I drank this later in the day than I normally would (due to caffeine content) and didn't have any probs falling asleep later on. I would suggest this to someone who enjoys more vegetal green teas but is looking for something cheaper to drink on occasion.

★★★★☆

I don't have many mates to compare this to, but I thought this was good. Tastes like grass pretty much, but that's expected. It's a nice way to get hydrated because you just keep resteeping it. Just don't use boiling water. Also, you can steep it forever, it does not get bitter.

I enjoyed this tea, but I do not believe it put the pep in my step that others noted. I brewed as directed on the package. I put the tea through three steepings and enjoyed the first two (the third not having significant flavor remaining). I probably would purchase this tea again at some future point.

★★★★☆

deep and very green, with just a hint of bitterness - which really works with the flavor. not too strong, very interesting.

★★★☆☆

I've gotten yerba mate in a local tea shop which is actually called Mate Factor, but this tasted totally different. It had a different taste then expected but overall wasn't bad.

★★★★★

love yerba mate, ever since i found out about it in uruguay/brazil. it's very bitter (love that).

I got this for my husband, who is a major caffeine and iced-tea nut. He drank it iced, and he said it DEFINITELY gave him a boost, although it wasn't long lived. He liked the flavor of it, as well. A little bit grassy, but definitely tolerable.

★★★☆☆

Not really what I expected, very vegetal tasting. Not bad, but I prefer the mocha nut mate.

★★★★☆

I was pleasantly surprised with this tea. First time trying yerba mate, and I have to say that I love it! I definitely want to try the other varieties.

★★☆☆☆

too grassy-tasting for me. lots of green teas have a good, pleasant sort of grassy flavor, but this has kind of a generic vegetable flavor.

This tea has a sharp, earthy flavor but I really liked it! It feels like a cleaner alternative to coffee in the morning. Very refreshing!

★★★★☆

My first mate, very different, nice though. Not an everyday thing for me.

★★★★☆

I like this infusion a lot it is great in the morning to give you a little boost. I would like to get one of the gourds and try it the way it is meant to be drank

Though basic in taste, Yerba Mate is an excellent caffeine filled base for blends, with pleasant earthy tones. Certainly worth the price for something before your fully awake.
