I think this was the first time I had spearmint, not peppermint, and I think I actually like it better! It just seems a bit more mellow, a bit 'cooler' (insert tea cup wearing sunglasses here!). A nice, basic sip, especially for the herbal crowd who wants to play but can't be caffeinated all day!

Nice minty flavor that is mellow and not too overpowering like peppermint. Reminds me of spearmint gum!

Light and refreshing, this tea would be great hot or iced. No sweetener is necessary and the lack of caffeine is a definite plus. Unlike other mint teas, spearmint is not overwhelming. It does, however, pleasantly refresh the palate.

I really loved this tea. It was a pure, clean taste and needed nothing to enhance the refreshing sensation after drinking it

This was the best mint tea I have had in some time. It was light and refreshing without being heavy on the mint. Some mint teas can be overpowering. This one was just right.

It was very nice but not as strong as I expected due to the other reviews. It left a very nice cup of tea nonetheless. I will definitely be purchasing some for my own tea collection.

(Tasted as part of the communitea). I read other comments of the tea being strong so I added some extra water and it was delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed this tea at a hot tea. I would definitely order this again.

This Spearmint sample is more mellow of a taste than I remember my peppermint sample being, while still being unabashedly minty. I love how refreshing and awakening it is after brewing it early in the morning.

CommuniTEA update: I have purchased this tea a few more times since the first sample bag and am updating my review from 4 to 5 stars. I think I was making it too strong before, but after getting the leaf to water ratio right the flavor is still strong but also smooth and lightly sweet without adding anything to it. I find myself making a cup of this any time I have an upset stomach, and it's also great for after dinner to unwind at the end of the day. It has become a pantry staple for me.
11/1/20: This smells like an intense spearmint gum or mint when you open the package, and that does come through quite strongly in the flavor. Even with lower steep times though I found there was a slightly bitter aftertaste for me that made it less smooth than I was expecting. But if you are a fan of spearmint this is a pretty good option.

Enjoying with the CommuniTEA today: It's spearmint! Lot's of minty goodness wafting from dry ingredients and steeped cup. When taking a sip, more spearmint-y goodness. If you like min/spearmint, you will like this tea.

There is something to be said for simplicity! This spearmint tea is calming and delightful to smell and taste. Very nice on its own, and I imagine would be nice with fruity teas, perhaps iced.

Smells like spearmint gum! This tea is very soothing for the tummy and freshens your breath at the same time. Win win!

Mint is always my go-to morning caffeine free tea. This is a great option to reach for! It's not quite as sharp as peppermint and a small amount of sweetener (I use stevia), really helps to brighten the flavor.

This is a good herbal because its multi use, hot or cold, alone or mixed. I like this tea a lot because it's a good tea to drink no matter the time of day. The iced of it first thing in the morning perks the drinker up, but hot at night also relaxes the body with some menthol tingles

Sweet mint flavor in my cup this morning. I drank it hot, but it would be an excellent iced tea alone or blended with a black tea.

I always turn to this one when I have an upset stomach or sore throat or I want to settle down and mellow out at the end of the evening. I also love mixing it with other teas for my fandom blends as well. It's super versatile in that way and it works iced or hot! Very refreshing when iced, comforting, and calming when hot.

Spearmint is the best! A favorite go-to herbal after dinner, great anytime! I tend to prefer it over peppermint but both are great. I like it strong so I steep for 10 min.

If you are a mint tea drinker, this is the tea for you. The mint was not overpowering, it was a nice refreshing cup. Great for a pick me up or to relax at the end of the day.

If you like spearmint, this is for you. Smells good.

The dry spearmint smells exactly the way I expected. The brewed tea is a light brown, similar to some partially oxidized oolongs. The brewed tea was not as minty as expected, but instead soft and cool with the mint in the finish and a slight menthol feeling on the next inhale. Spearmint is like the white tea of mints, slightly sweet and often delicate. I'm glad I tried this cup unadulterated, since I was unaware how soothing it would be alone and thought it would be like drinking chewing gum.

A pure, classic spearmint. Pieces are pretty consistent in size too, which makes brewing more reliable given how light the leaves are . I like it best in small doses of leaf to water.

This tea brews light brown and definitely tastes like a stick of spearmint gum. It is bright and crisp with sweet mouthfeel and a clean finish, but but my brain can't help associating the flavor with things other than tea. Compared to peppermint, it is smoother, and compared to fresh mint it is much more subdued. It is refreshing, not as cooling as its cousins. I'm not sure it would go as well in blends as other minty flavors. Not an unpleasant drink, but not my favorite either.

I normally enjoy mint teas of all kinds, however this tea tastes like toothpaste mixed with dishwater.

Smells and tastes heavenly! Cool, refreshing & soothing. A staple for adding in tea. A staple for adding to other teas, or enjoying alone. mmmmm! :)

I was expecting to be a bit disappointed in the tea, given my recent dental work has opened me to a world of spearmint unending. spearmint permeates the very fabric of my reality's being right now, and the fatigue I feel towards it is immense. And yet, this cup of tea was refreshing and brisk, bright enough to not overstay its welcome among its synthetic and medicated peers that have been effectively surrounding me and curb-stomping me for the last week. It's a very good tea, good enough to stand out even in my situation.

Love the strong mint flavor of this tea. My mouth is filled with spearmint freshness. It smells great and tastes great. This makes a great ice tea, because the hefty flavor is strong enough to hold its own over ice. Do not need sweetener or cream to enjoy this. This is one to buy. (8 mins @195˚F )
Update: I DID buy a bag and I enjoy this tea greatly!

Like chewing gum! It has a great mint flavor, and has a wonderful crisp coolness.

A great flavor that doesn't taste bad if left to steep for too long. It's also quite decent at room temp after I inevitably lose my mug. A toddler in my life loves it, which is fine with me because it's caffeine-free!

Absolutely love this straight mint tea! Spearmint has some distinct flavors compared to other mints, and it's enjoyable to compare side by side. Please note, water boils at 199 degrees where I am, due to altitude.
