Basically tastes like apple cinnamon tea. I don't get any inkling of passionfruit
The flavors of passionfruit and mango sparkle on the tongue, developing even more flavor as it cools.

Basically tastes like apple cinnamon tea. I don't get any inkling of passionfruit
Yum tastes so delicious! Love the passion fruit flavor!
When I opened my communiTea packet, my nose actually twitched, yum smells amazing. However as I sipped, ugh hibiscus and cinnamon seemed to swarm my cup with hints of something tropical, but not really a passionfruit. Today’s blend certainly a delicious smelling tea, and enjoyed my cup warm, but not one I would sneak in my cart. (steeped 7mins @200F after sipping added a little lemon & honey)
I found this tea to be a pleasant surprise. Having a very limited (and not particularly good) experience with passionfruit, I was fully prepared to be less than impressed by this blend. But, I must confess that, despite the rather candy-like aroma from the pouch and the first initial shock of hibiscus tartness, I enjoyed this tea. Adding some agave nectar helped mellow the sour and highlighted the cinnamon. As the tea cooled, the fruit supporting the cinnamon became more noticeable. I definitely detected some apple, and there was a fleeting moment when I swore I tasted pineapple. Overall, though, the fruit flavors behind the cinnamon blend into a generic fruitiness rather than specific fruits.
A nice blend of sweet and tart and definitely reminiscent of a major coffee chain's tea.
I really wanted to like this tea! However, all I could smell was cherry cough syrup. After that, I couldn't stomach it and down the drain it went.
The packet smelled fruity and light, so I decided to cold brew it. The color is a gorgeous red and when I swirled the container, the tea looked so pretty with the fruit floating about. Once brewed, the aroma wasn't quite as fruity, more like what I remember kool-aid smelling like when I was a kid. The taste wasn't as vibrant as I expected either, given the delightful color and that I'd only used 8 ounces of water. I'd drink it again, but it's not something that excites me. Perhaps it would be better if you could use a larger amount of tea.
Cold brewed in 8 ounces of water for three and a half hours.
I didn't read the ingredients ahead of time, so I was surprised to taste cinnamon. This tea has a lot going on. It's difficult to distinguish the other flavors, but I like it regardless.
The smell from the packet is sweet and fruity, but the cinnamon adds a little something.
Once brewed... wow, what a unique taste that's hard for me to pin down. I didn't get any sour/tart flavors, but I also added sugar. It's a 'warming' cup - makes me feel fuzzy and safe inside, which I've never gotten from a tea before.

This tea is confusing to me; I can't quite figure out what this tea wants to be. There's lots of cinnamon, some tartness, a fruit flavor that I don't recognize (probably the passionfruit), and floral notes, but it doesn't seem to be cohesive, it's like all the parts stand alone rather than coming together to make a whole. Adding sweetener pulled the floral notes out a bit stronger. It's not a bad flavor, but it is confusing.
I actually enjoyed this tea more than expected. I don’t always appreciate teas with a ton of ingredients but this one is tasty. I did a cold brew while at work and it turned a beautiful red color. Mostly I tasted the fruit and cinnamon.
I was pleasantly surprised - this is a nice caffeine free beverage with a flavor all its own. I want to say it reminds me of a really nice scented candle but that might not sound as nice as this actually is!
Let us dance!
This is definitely a curious tea. The color is very pretty and it smells awesome. My only caveat was hoping for more fruitiness, the cinnamon seems to be very loud.
Overwhelmingly hibiscus, with a tiny hint of cinnamon. I don't get any of the other flavors, and the cinnamon tastes artificial to me, like a cinnamon candy.
Lovely little herbal blend. About equal parts fruit and sweet. Add sweetener to balance out the tartness.
What an interesting blend. The dry herbs smell like a box of candy--fruity and sweet. It brews into a crystal clear, bright deep red cup. This would look fabulous over ice! Cinnamon and hibiscus are the main flavors with a little lemon jumping in and lending some tartness. The fruit flavors are kind of all mushed together for a generic fruit taste, and it's fairly weak, at least while hot. Wishing I had more than a little packet so I could try it iced.
A tasty fruity blend that in which the cinnamon is the dominant flavor
There’s just some aroma and taste that is not familiar to me in this tea and I have to assume it is the passionfruit. I am not too fond of this flavor/smell as it leaves a bit of a weird taste in my mouth. It’s drinkable but not something I would reach for if I wanted an herbal tea...just saying...
Herbal teas with a lot of flavors can be hit or miss, but this one is a hit! When I opened my packet, there was a strong floral and spice scent that reminded me a bit of a really good smelling potpourri. I certainly wouldn't be mad if my house smelled like this tea!
After steeping, this tea was a lovely reddish pink. It still had a strong fruity/floral scent. It was a little tart from the hibiscus and had a lot of fruity flavor with a bit of cinnamon. I steeped this tea for 10 minutes at 212F and I added just a tiny bit of sugar.
Dry in the packet, this smelled like fruity bubblegum. Once brewed, it smelled more like mulled hot cider – it smelled of fruit and cinnamon and gave off a sweet vibe. It smelled really delicious. The taste however was a let down, because I could only taste tart hibiscus and rose hip, followed by a hint of apple. I did not taste any of the things I was smelling, which left my brain and taste buds confused. As it cooled it became less tart, more sweet, and a generic fruit medley made itself known. Overall, this didn’t taste bad, but the smell and the flavor never matched up, and I kept wishing it tasted more like it smelled. (reviewed through CommuniTEA; 5 min @ 212F)
Sometimes herbals can let you down. They can be too bland or too tart. To me this one was just right! The smell of the cinnamon is heavenly and gives the tea a certain je nais se quois. The scent invites you in and gets you intrigued. Brewed up it is a lovely pink. To me it tasted like a Sweettart, but not in a bad way! :) I couldn't discern particular fruit flavors but I thought they worked together to create a harmony of flavor. I like this tea plain, but I can see some honey or sugar brightening the fruit further. Yummy, yummy, fruity tea in my tummy! Happy Sipping!
This was nice and fruity. I enjoyed it with a bit of sweetener.
I received an individual portion of this tea as part of the CommuniTEA box. As it is one small portion, a tea with this many dancing parts to it may be unbalanced compared to a larger purchase of it and my review may be colored in that way. At any rate, let's get on with the review proper.
Opening the packet revealed an odd tea with plenty of apple pieces inside and other ingredients. Some are much smaller and more broken up in size, and I'm not entirely looking forward to the debris in my cup, but it is what it is. The smell is unusual, though, and I'm not sure at all what to make of it. The apple's there, as are the other fruity flavors. I can smell a touch of cinnamon as well, but it all combines to an almost chemical-y smell? I'm not sure, and I'm not entirely convinced with this tea.
I steeped this tea for the recommended (on the package) time and temperature of 5 minutes at 212 degrees F. While I could have steeped it longer, it was already a deep ruby red color, and I didn't think it would need a longer steep time. Clear and gem-like in tone, the cinnamon smell carries through with the other fruity flavors. It's not nearly as odd-smelling in tea form as it was in dried form, but I still don't entirely know what to make of it. Tasting it reveals an oddly tart tea, full of fruit flavors, but with this undercurrent of cinnamon that's almost out of place. Adding sugar helps to an extent, as does letting it cool somewhat. Adding ice to it almost helps to tone everything down, but the cinnamon still feels so out of place.
Overall, it's an odd tea, and while I don't mind it entirely, the cinnamon's just so out of place, and the extreme tartness of the fruits combine to create a tea I'm not very fond of. While fruity teas are nice, this once certainly isn't my favorite.
Just not my style. Too fruity. Too tart. Too sweet. I prefer milder flavors.
I love me a fruity tea! This is a wonderful fruity blend. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA March box.
Certainly not at all one of my favorite herbal teas. It's drinkable, but it lacks depth and character, is too fruity by far, and it's definitely not something I'd buy again.
I loved this fruity herbal tea! Lot's of 'spunk'to it. I didn't even need to add sweetener. Even though it is herbal, it had a great pick-me-up to it.
Pretty good despite not being a big fan of passionfruit. Definitely tasted more hibiscus. There’s an aftertaste I’m not a fan of though, and I can’t quite place what it is.
Deliciously sweet passion fruit and tropical flavors make this tea worth its 8-10 minute steep time. But cinnamon? Who thought of putting cinnamon in a tropical tea with lemongrass and hibiscus? (Another vendor, it seems... But kudos to Adagio adding the rose, rose hips, and raspberry leaves. Lovely look, nice taste). Everything comes together surprisingly well and I really did enjoy this tea. It doesn't delight/sparkle as much as Peach Bellini, but the hibiscus isn't too tart, the lemongrass not too sour, it's not too sweet, and somehow the cinnamon adds an unexpected depth. I was about to give 5 stars just for creativity/craziness of adding cinnamon to a tea like this, but realizing that this tea was inspired by another puts it in a solid good but not great category for me.
Passionfruit is a flavor I love to drink! One of my favorite juices is POG from
Hawaii! Passionfruit, Orange and Gava. The hibiscus however was pretty strong and a bit over powering to truly bring out the Passionfruit flavors. However it was still quite enjoyable. I would love to try this again and an ice tea.
Based on the CommuniTEA packet: a strong fruity tea. Not a bad tea but not one I would drink too often
Has a hibiscus-focused flavor that works extremely well with the lemongrass base. Tastes somewhat similar to TAZO iced passion tea, but maybe a little less tart. Has some nice cinnamon and floral highlights, and it makes for a yummy iced tea!
Today's CommuniTEA packet smelled like tropical fruits. Brewing for 7 minutes at 212ºF produced a reddish tisane with a hint of purple color.
The flavor has a tangy slightly sour zing, followed by some warming cinnamon notes and a light apple flavor. There seems to be a slight lemongrass flavor, some herbal raspberry leaf and floral hints from the rose petal hiding in the mix. The passionfruit flavor seems to be lost in the dance among the other flavors. The hibiscus is really prominent, setting this tisane firmly in 'zinger' territory. Adding sweetener to this style of tea seems like the thing most people do, so I added some rock sugar. The sweetener tamed down the hibiscus zing a bit, and brought out some more apple cinnamon and lemongrass flavors.
Passionfruit is one of my favorite flavors, however this tea does not truly deliver much of a pure passionfruit taste like I was expecting. The Hibiscus flavor is the major ingredient and its' sour zing steals the show. HIbiscus isn't my favorite, so this blend having passionfruit in the name was kind of a letdown when it turned out to taste mostly of hibiscus. For that hibiscus 'zinger' style of tisane, this one's a lot better than most others and it's pretty OK with some light sweetener.
212 degrees for 10 minutes. I have to admit, my tongue was tangled in this tango tea. When hot, the tartness from the hibiscus danced out of tune with the cinnamon, creating an odd mix of flavors for me. As it cooled, the cinnamon retreated to the sidelines, and the fruit and flowers came to the dance floor, creating a bit more harmony, yet that cinnamon kept stepping on the other's toes, making them miss a beat in the aftertaste. Overall, I preferred this tea cool with sweetener to bring all the flavors into tune, but this isn't one that I would care to twirl with too often.
Brew this blend strong, then chill for a treat to enjoy iced. The mango and passion fruit flavors are subtle, but the remaining supporting cast blend into a soft background note that balances nicely. The cinnamon was a misstep though. I sweetened with a touch of honey to counteract the sour from the hibiscus.
Not only a wonderful smelling tea, but also a lovely bright red. I enjoyed this very much as a hot tea, but it would also be great as an iced tea. Other reviewers mentioned the cinnamon, but I didn't taste much.
It's okay. I choose to make it iced and it does make a nice cold drink if you add a generous scoop of sugar. The flavors are mild, the cinnamon fruity taste reminds me a bit of scented Christmas candles. There is nothing wrong with it, it's okay, but it's not amazing, would enjoy drinking it, but i don't think i would buy it.
Update: my children said it was yummy and mild.
This was not something I would choose again. The only thing I really enjoyed about it was the magenta color.
The cinnamon gave this an odd flavor. Without the cinnamon this would be great iced.
Tasting along with the CommuniTEA: Lots of fruit from dry ingredients and packet, reminiscent of 1980's original Bubblicious bubble gum. After steeping 5.5 mins at 212°, I notice a rich ruby color with prominent lemongrass, cinnamon scent wafting from cup. When I take a sip, very present complex tropical fruit notes with tart hibiscus, cinnamon, lemongrass finish.
I like passionfruit tea, and I enjoyed this tea well enough, with some caveats. This tea is VERY strong. You may want to start with a shorter steeping time. The initial scent when I opened the packet was...off-putting, but fortunately the flavor was more pleasant.
Cinnamon chimes and fruit rhymes in this passionfruit tango medley. I enjoyed this tea when I used more water than usual to brew and then sweetened the cuppa to smooth and brighten the fruit flavors and gentle the cinnamon presence.
A strong cinnamon scent was released when I opened the CommuniTEA packet today. I decided to give this heady spice the full dance floor and room enough to spread its charms while letting the fruit flavors mingle where they may. I brewed at 200F water for 8 minutes using a generous 12 oz. mug. The beautiful merlot red liquor had a gentle scent of cinnamon. When tasted hot, the tart flavors from the hibiscus, raspberry leaves and rose hips were closely followed by a lemony taste from the lemongrass. It was only when the tea cooled more, the fruity presence of mango, apricot and passionfruit was collectively tasted as a tropical peachy like tang. The rose petals were a bit of a no show but may have contributed more than I knew. A cinnamon presence throughout gave a depth, warmth and fullness to this fruity tea and like all herbal teas there was no astringency or bitterness to note.
Sweetening this tea made it a very pleasant sip for me. I sipped plain at first but the tart tendency with an undertone of cinnamon was slow going. I needed that extra boost of sugar which brightened the flavors and made the cinnamon ring. A cup cooled on the side, sweetened, was very tasty too. A resteep of 6 oz. was less of a fruity sip and more cinnamon in nature but funny enough I could sip this cup plain. Surprised at first by the cinnamon and fruit combo in this tea, I became a believer at last. This was a very tasty and welcome discovery today. Blended with another tea this would be a good addition too.
Nice medley (or 'tango' if you will) of fruit flavors. I don't know that without having read the ingredients that I would be able to describe the flavor profile, but I like it and have enjoyed this tea both hot and cold.
First of all, the aroma that came out of the CommuniTEA packet when I opened it was HEAVENLY. I could smell the florals and the fruit and just.../chef's kiss. The best way I can describe it is raspberry-rose.
I do not like this tea when it's hot. I think that might be a me thing, but anything with like orange flavor or rose hips in it is never going to taste good hot to me. That said, I let it cool off and the cooler it got, the more the floral flavors stood out for me, though with the tartness of the raspberry was paired with that floral flavor in a really interesting way that I loved.
This is one for the wishlist; I'm sure it's incredible brewed cold!
I drank mine hot, because iced teas aren't my deal. My sample package was light on fruit pieces, but the flavor was still there. It had a nice hibiscus tang with a fruity sweetness. Probably would have been great iced, for those who dig that sort of thing, or with a bit of sweetener.
Why did they ruin my passionfruit tea with hibiscus and rose hips? =( I want more passionfruit, but what I'm getting instead is Hawaiian punch or bubble gum. Oh well. It's a beautiful color! (5 mins @ 212 F, 2 drops EZ-Sweetz, 2 frozen stone cubes)
I was thrilled by the smell of potpourri in the communiTEA packet when I opened it this morning. I could already tell from the ingredient list that I was going to love this blend. My tea partner was running a little late, so my steep ended up lasting quite a bit longer than I intended; but this was to the advantage of the cup, as it gave the apple pieces plenty of time to give up all their sweetness and tropical fruit flavor infusions, and for the natural sweetness of the cinnamon bark to come all the way out. I was expecting to need to sweeten this blend given the presence of tart-bitter hibiscus and rose hips, but to my delight it was perfect as is. I'm going to have to re-evaluate my summer tea purchase, because I think I'm going to need a 3 oz bag of this one for cold brewing! (20 mins @ 212 F, no additions)
I've had the iced version before. I just wish I had sugar with me. Sugar is an excellent addition to this tea if you want it to taste like liquid red hots. It has a gorgeous red color. Lemongrass mellows the cinnamon out just a little bit.
This has a strong cinnamon profile, but not as strong as a chai. The hibiscus adds some character to the brewed cup along with the lemongrass which I feel tie the blend together. The fruity notes are more secondary and read less as any particular fruit and more as a hint of fruit somewhere while hot and start to peak out as the tea stats to cool. As a fruity cup, it would be disappointing until the tea cools some but the interaction between the cinnamon and lemongrass is very tasty.
I enjoyed this to you, light and refreshing and fruity. Smooth with not bitterness.
This is now my favorite tea. The color (light pink) is so pretty and the tea is delicious. The tea is sweet and fruity. I love it!!!
