This tasted a lot like bubblegum. Not a negative thing, but I don't really like bubblegum. There must have been a lot of artificial flavoring, because real cherries don't have that rubbery bubblegum taste.
Do you like cough syrup? Then this is the tea for you! The fake cherry flavor is VERY prominent in this one, no matter how hot or cool or long or short I steep it. From the moment you open it to the last drop, it tastes like cough syrup, and that flavor only gets stronger if you add sweetener! Ditch the cherry flavoring, PLEASE, and use only dried cherries! It should be tart, not cloyingly sweet! I'd also drop the hibiscus - it doesn't blend well with the cherry. For a good cherry pie flavor, switch it out for creme or a *very* light vanilla.
Delicious but I found it a bit sweet. may actually mix it with some black tea
I was so happy to find this herbal tea. I’ve been looking for a cherry tea since I miss Snow Geisha from Teavana (rip). Since it’s a herbal you can steep it for longer than 5 minutes and really get some great cherry flavor!
It s tart and sweet and bursting with cherry flavor.
Love the sweet/tart flavor. It’s one of my favorite herbals.
This is so good! The cherry has a wonderful tang to it. I can’t wait to make it iced as well!
Nice flavor. Not one of my favorites, but delicious all the same.
Enjoyable tea. I found the cherry taste to be fairly weak and would have liked it to be a bit stronger.
Amazing and tasty. This bright red delight is one of my favorites. It's highly fragrant and to my husband and daughter it's too much but I think it's divine and will get more once I've depleted the current stash. I've tried a lot of the different fruit teas and this and berry blast are my favorites. To date I've only had it hot to date but look forward to trying to brew some iced tea with this
Refreshing blend to meet all your iced tea needs for summer! Bet it would be good hot too!
Many people say that a cup of good, sweet tea can replace dessert, and I've always been skeptical (and too chicken to try it). Along comes Dewy Cherry, and the rich, sweet/tart flavor was a delightful surprise and a bona fide treat. And I skipped dessert! I will definitely reorder.
This is another winner in the cold brew ice tea contest at our house, and I have added it to my shopping bag. The tart cherry flavor is thirst quenching. My husband and I both enjoyed it. I drank it without adding anything to it and found it to be quite tasty. My husband sweetens his. I have not had it hot yet so cannot comment on that. Should I do so I will update my review.
As a hot tea this is a bit strong, but I used this to make iced tea - brewed it hot and then poured it over ice - and it worked out perfectly! great for a summer day.
It’s a good tea. My only sadness is that there is so much hibiscus it curdles milk and the tea begs for milk!
Ignore the two minute steep time and go for 6--you won't regret it. It ends up tasting more like a really good fruit punch than cough syrup that way.
Very strong cherry aroma in the dry tea. It cold-steeped to a deep red, tart tea. Didn't note any cough syrup taste. Adding sweetener tones down the tartness and enhances the cherry flavor. Delicious!
This is such a beautiful deep red tisane. I steeped using 212 F water x 10 min. I tasted it both hot and cold from the fridge. I preferred it cold and sweetened with a little bit of Splenda. There is not as much tartness when made this way.
Cherry flavor was quite refreshing but it was a bit strong for my palate.
Unlike a few other cherry teas I've had, there wasn't any cough syrup taste. Just lots of tart cherry taste.
Smelled like potpourri and tasted like cough syrup. That's a big nope from me.
Very tart, and not in a way that reminds me of cherries.
Very tart, nice cherry flavors. Added milk and sweetener, it was perfect <3
LOVE this one! Tart without being bitter. I could drink a cup of this every night.
Edit: Still one of my favorites but I make it different now. I use 2-3 heaping tsps of tea, for my 18 oz cup. I steep at least 5 minutes, up to 10. I also add a pinch of Adagio rock sugar. I like it both hot and cold, but probably drink more hot. It’s a great before bed drink.
I am having trouble with Adagio’s cherry flavors. They just smell and taste too much like Luden’s cherry sore throat lozenges to me. I love tart cherries, hibiscus, etc, but there is just something about this cherry flavor that I dislike. I have tried it hot, room temp, cold, and sweetened. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to finish one cup. Well, I did finish the cold one, but I had to had lime seltzer water to it. That was better. Steeped 212° for 4 mins.
I hate to say it, but this one was not my cuppa. The medicinal scent didn’t bode well when I opened the packet. I added my usual Splenda which helped a little, but still a little too tart for my tastes. I must add, I’m not usually a fan of herbal tea, and this didn’t deviate.
Not the best for me. A little tart, which was fine. Lovely color. Smelled really good.. Not a bad after taste at all. Didn't notice a real strong cherry flavor. Better hot than it was as it cooled.
I enjoyed this tea a lot, but I'm a big fan of hibiscus. If you don't like hibiscus, then this tea is not for you. I will say that when I smelled this tea, it smelled really strongly of cough syrup/cough drop cherry flavoring, like bad artificial cherry flavoring, so I was concerned that it was going to be terrible. However, after brewing, the cherry flavor was much milder and smoother than the smell implied it would be, and it blended well with the hibiscus for a really enjoyable tart drink. It was especially tasty after it had cooled, leading me to believe that it would be really good iced.
It very tart, taste like a cherry cough syrup even smells like cheery cough syrup.
Cold steeped, this tastes tart and fruity. The cherry flavor and hibiscus play well together, creating a refreshing blend. I like to mix my fruit tisanes with lemonade, and this one creates a wonderful cherry lemonade. Cheers!
I drank my CommuniTEA packet chilled. I’m not a huge fan of cherry flavored anything but if you are, this blend is for you. It’s a tart, cherry flavored, hibiscus refresher that tastes decent chilled. Happy sipping.
It's not as flavorful as I would hope, though this may be because the packet did not contain as much teas as I typically like to use. It tastes a little like artificial cherry, despite the very real pieces of cherry I can see in the blend. Perhaps if I was a little more fond of cherries, it'd hit a higher note with me!
If you like the taste of tart cherries than you will like this tea.
Perfect companion along side a piece of cherry pie!
And if you like your cherry pie aka mode. Then try this as an iced tea! :)
The hibiscus ruined it for me. I love the color hibiscus brews into, but it's unpleasantly sour, even with minimal brew times. I've enjoyed hibiscus in iced teas, so maybe it would be better iced, but as it was, it tasted like the smell of almond extract and sour. I only had some creamer with me to doctor my cup, but the hibiscus caused the creamer to curdle on impact. I'd maybe try this iced and mixed with lemonade, or cranberry juice or something else more compatible with sourness.
June 29, 2020- It's very tart and doesn't have much cherry flavor to me. I got a lot of hibiscus in the flavor.
Update- I don't remember if I tried this iced or not...so I decided to try it that way today. I still am not a fan. It is very floral . I still don't detect much cherry flavor. Definitely not my cup of tea.
This tastes like fake cherry gone bad, not even like cough syrup.
Not a fan of this one. It’s a beautiful color though
This tea has a very cherry smell to it, but not as strong of a cherry taste. I think cherries might be a flavor that's difficult to capture in tea form. I steeped mine for the full 10 minutes because I prefer strong tea and sweetened it with honey. It really has a juice quality to it when sweetened, but I'm not really sure I like that.
Tart and cherry, very good. More hibiscus than cherry.
The aroma of this dry tisane holds little promise for me. I’m immediately reminded of cherry-flavored medicine, but then the aroma sweetens and becomes more reminiscent of a cherry Starburst. That offers more hope; cherry Starburst are one of the few cherry-flavored candies I can enjoy. After an overnight cold-steep to keep hibiscus’s trademark tartness at bay, I sample the blend. It tastes, as I expect it to, medicinal. Cold, the flavor is muted enough that it’s tolerable, but I can’t say I enjoy it. Cherry flavoring, whether it’s in candy or tea, just tends to remind me too much of Pedi-a-Care, the cold medicine I grew up on. I can detect another note to this brew, though; there’s a floral undertone, presumably from the rosehips, that gives the tea some complexity. For those who don’t have negative medicinal associations with cherry flavoring, this blend is probably enjoyable, but it’s not for me.
Trying along with the CommuniTEA: Strong cherry Ludens cough drop scents from the dry ingredients and packet today. Once steeped for 5 mins t 212°F, I notice a deep magenta color in my cup and notes of cherry and hibiscus. When I take a sip, l get lots of mildly sour cherry flavor.
I didn't enjoy this one. The cherry was too artificial.
212 degrees for 10 minutes. Cherry flavor is not a favorite of mine, so this one is just ok.
I really enjoyed this one. Not a big hibiscus fan. Added a little sugar, calmed the tanginess down. Will like this one iced for sure or will try cold brew like some other tasters have suggested
This wasn't exactly bad, but it is not for me. I don't love Adagio's cherry flavoring - it has a very fake and rose floral taste to me. That cough syrup cherry and rose flavor is very prominent in this, and is backed up by the tart hibiscus and rose hip combo. I drank it iced, and while I finished one 8 oz glass, I'm not going back for more. (reviewed through CommuniTEA; cold brewed 4 hours)
I'm a huge herbal drinker, but there is something about Adagio's cherry flavoring that I don't enjoy. I had this same complaint with Cherry Marzipan Oolong. This tea smells super weird and cloying in the bag. Then in the sip I don't really get much cherry---more rose and hibiscus. I'm usually a sour fan, but this one goes too far for me too. So even though I'm usually the biggest herbal champion you will find, I'm going to have to abandon this one on the side of the road to fend for itself. Happy Sipping!
The fresh tea smells strongly of cherries. It brews to an amazing red color and tasted quite a bit of the rose hips and hibiscus with an added cherry tartness. Looking forward to trying iced and then blended with a chocolate tea. Mmmmmmmm chocolate covered cherries.
I wasn't expecting to like this because I have had bad luck with some of the other cherry teas, but I love this! Part of the reason I love this so much is because it's caffeine free and I can see myself reaching for it in the evening. The cherry flavor is robust and slightly tart from the rosehips and hibiscus. It is sweet without being cloying. This would make a refreshing iced tea and would be amazing with actual fruit added to the glass.
From the smell to the color as it steeped to the taste…it was all wonderful. I loved the cherry flavor, delighting my morning as I trudged through work. Incredible tea, definitely getting this one again.
