This is a new favorite for me and i got it along side my new electric kettle, so each cup has been perfect! Tastes like a good green tea with an extra kick of delicious!
The herbal-grassy notes of Argentine Yerba Mate enhanced with the lively taste of ripe citrus fruits. Contains caffeine.

This was my first try at mate and I liked it pretty well. I've seen some reviews describe it as 'grassy' and I totally agree with that, but with the citrus it tasted a lot like lemon grass so it's a nice flavor. I don't think the caffeine has hit yet so I can't comment about that, but the overall flavor is nice: you can taste both the tea and the citrus without either being too overpowering.
I love this tea! Every single time I open the bag I think of Juicy Fruit gum! I think the tea goes really well with any citrus fruit. Seems to sweeten up the blend and keep things from going to sour/tart! Good stuff!
Nice citrus flavor that you smell as you pour the water over it. It's even great mixed with the sleeping dragon tea. Overall an excellent choice by itself or with a green tea.
I tried this just to try everything, honestly. Knowing I don't enjoy green tea, I didn't expect to enjoy it very much. However, it was surprisingly enjoyable. The grassy aftertaste was very muted and the apricot flavor was delicious. The experience was overall good.
The other night, I brewed cups of the citrus mate, citron green, mandarin green and white tangerine teas, in order to see how they compared to one another. I actually liked them all, but I thought the merits of each tea were distinct from one another. Of the four, citrus mate was my favorite to drink hot and without any added sweeteners. The flavor wasn't punchy, sharp citrus - very mellow - but there was something really nice about the way the citrus tastes completely merged with the yerba mate. It was a very smooth, harmonious tea. Also, the yerba mate itself seemed more flavorful and robust than the green and white teas consumed alongside it, which very much appeals to my personal taste.
The only downside: I didn't enjoy this tea with sweetener, even just a little. I thought the fruit flavors got cough syrupy very quickly once exposed to sugar. Now, that doesn't diminish my personal appreciation for the tea, because I often enjoy drinking unsweetened teas, and a tea that tastes great without any help gets some big points in my book. I'm not sure that those who prefer to sweeten their tea will like this one equally well, however.
Good flavor, and it's very strongly caffeinated. I prefer oversteeping my tea to get a bitterer brew, and this one retained its citrus taste.
I just don't like anything about this tea. The citrus flavoring wasn't appealing and the mate doesn't taste very good.
Not my favorite mate tea ever, but It goes very well mixed with other fruity teas
Wonderfully outdoorsy and full of citrus flavor. A fantastic mix for this is a teaspoon citrus mate, a teaspoon of lemon grass, and a half teaspoon of spearmint. Delicious, and makes you feel very alert. I am certainly buying this again.
I'm not really keen on mate, but I would like to enjoy the caffeine boost and health benefits, and also like trying out different variations. This one is zesty and not grassy at all! And my not-quite-tea-loving-fiance drinks it by the boatload so it must be pretty good!
More bitter than I was expecting but a lovely citrusy aftertaste and the caffeine gave me a great jolt.
The citrus flavors blend so well with the earthy flavor of the mate! One of my favorites. Very energizing!
lovely summer flavor - it fits the description perfectly. it's very fine though, so a few bits got into my tea, so just a heads up if you mind that.
I really enjoyed this tea iced! It's not overpowering or bitter, and the mate has a nice flavor without being too grassy. The citrus is perfect, not too strong or artificial tasting and it smells wonderful! This was the perfect choice for a first time mate.
So lemony and bright! Definitely a great pick me up in the mornings. The only negative I'd say is that a LOT gets through the mesh in a tea ball or infuser basket. A tea bag is better for this tea :)
itrus Mate is full of caffeine and it is a very unique and tasty tea with citrus flavor that this Mate has too offer. If you are going to try flavored mate, then you need to try itrus or Spiced mate.
This is a great flavor for someone new to the mate lifestyle. Bright citrusy notes complement the natural, earthy flavor of the mate leaves. Great aroma and great aftertaste.
This is my go-to tea when I'm feeling a little under the weather. The caffeine perks me up, while the citrus is great for a sore throat (especially if you add just a bit of honey). nd because it's a mate, I steep it at a lower temperature, which means that I don't have to wait for it to cool enough to drink.
s someone who loves coffee, I'm partial to some of the darker, more roasted mates. This mate is much brighter, with a tart pop of lemon. Tastes as bright as you will feel after having this delicious sharp cup of highly caffeinated tea.
My husband is from South merica and Mate is a daily drink there. He loves it! Me not so much. This citrus mate is very good and hubby liked it! We have a hit! :)
Nice citrus flavor, not overpowering but not weak. This also re-steeps well.
I liked the citrus flavor and the smell, but I couldn't get over the mate. I've tried, but I'm just not a fan.
I really love this tea. I mixed it with the chocolate chip and it tastes and also smells amazing!
Where has this stuff been all my life? Mate seems to have a better backbone for supporting the citrus flavor than green tea does. It's great hot or iced with a good bit of sweetener. Perfect for working late nights, when I need a pick-me-up that won't keep-me-up all night long.
It's a very nice lemony substitute for whenever I don't feel like drinking my beloved citrus green teas. It is kind of bitey when drunk hot, but makes a fantastic iced tea!
Probably one of the best mate teas I've tried. Lots and lots of citrus flavor and if you get your temps and brew times correct, not bitter at all. The only drawback was teh color of the brew. Kind of a puke green shade.
It has a slightly nutty taste with just a hint of citrus. I've found that with Mate, using the lower temperature water makes a lot of difference in the taste.
Citrus mate is really yummy. I prefer this to the other mate teas I have tried.
Sweet and tangy citrus with a nice boost of caffeine. If you're a busy student like me, this tea is perfect fuel for finals or any hectic time of the year. Great with amber sugar crystals too.
The citrus flavor was great with the mate. I was hooked after my 1st sip.
Like most mate, very enjoyable. The citrus adds a nice little bonus.
Favorite weekend tea, make a pot and drink all morning. Good caffine and great flavor and aroma to start the day.
Jury's still out on this one. I expected a much fruitier taste than what it has. There's some citrus there, but really the smoky, wood-y flavor of the mate takes center stage. I'll experiment with blending, but not sure if I'll take this on its own.
Strangely enough, the taste reminds me of Fruit Loops. It's pretty good.
A great breakfast tea! My father especially enjoys it when he works nights at the hospital as an alternative to coffee that makes him jittery and 'overly heavy'. This is crisp and bright, earthy without being too overwhelmingly like grass.
I didn't quite enjoy the plain mate, but this was delicious. I use about 4 teaspoons and steep up to 5 times.
This is my new favorite! It is a wonderfully bright morning tea that does not have an overbearing citrus taste. I love the fact that it is not a heavy morning tea. The tea is good for 2 brewings. Consistently reliable taste.
it's my first time trying mate, so i probably just need to find a flavor i like. it has a very different taste and it isn't very sweet without adding sugar.
New to mate teas - found it interesting, good to get you up and moving without coffee
this tea makes a very refreshing iced tea with some added fresh fruit!
The citrus in this tea was all right, but I'm not a huge fan of mate. The earthiness was a bit much for me. The tea really tasted like soil.
I wasn't sure how I about the smell when I opened it, but I still tried it. It was pretty decent, but I think I prefer unflavored mate.
I actually don't drink this tea alone, I blend it with the berry blast herbal tea. I like fruity/berry teas so much, but I also love a citrus kick and the caffeine kick Mate tea gives... It's a perfect combination! I think if you want the caffeine but don't like this tea alone, you can easily mix it with a fruity tea, or get an unflavored Mate and you can mix it with anything. I can also say the 3 oz I bought will last pretty long, I'm halfway through my berry tea but have barely made a dent in this one! Also, you don't have to watch Mate teas closely when infusing, they don't get bitter. I will buy this stuff forever to mix!
epic this just might replace my morning monster to start the day
I loved it! The citrus wasn't too overpowering. It is a lot like the citron green, though.
Also it's pretty nice cold.
I tried this and wasn't thrilled with it. Not sure it it was the tea itself or the citrus. Will try a different type of Mate tea before I discount it for good.
I ordered another sample after initially trying this flavor in the mate sampler. The taste seemed increasingly reminsicent of citronella candles the more I drank this tea, and I decided to wait a while before trying it again.
The citrus mate is good, but not quite what I was expecting.
A nice citrusy flavor with a nice earthiness. As people have said before, it falls through the holes of tea strainers, but it usually sinks to the bottom of my cup, so it's not too much of an issue. It has a dry finish.
