★★★☆☆

In the bag: As one might expect, it’s just the chamomile. Unlike in blends, however, my packet includes longer stems on many of the buds. Some breakdown occurred in transit, causing a good portion of the petals to become loose.

On the nose (pre-steep): Reminds me of a field in summer. Has almost a woodsy smell, though very light. Doesn’t remind me of any foods I can think of. Not intense.

On the nose (post-steep): Ever so slightly sweeter than before the steep. The vaguely woodsy smell has diminished. Perhaps the soak brought sugars out of the petals?

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Besides the obvious floral tones, I taste an undercurrent of roasted corn. Still slightly sweet.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): Now that toasted corn undercurrent tastes more like buttered corn on the cob. The woodsy notes are gone.

Opinion: Chamomile has a unique flavor that can be pleasant when combined with contrasting flavors, but I don’t enjoy it on its own. I would drink this in a pinch with the sweetener, but I won’t crave it.

Preparation: 7 min @ 212 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener

I normally drink my tea unsweetened and was not a big fan of Chamomile, but I have been under the weather and added a bit of honey to mine today and I am really enjoying it. It is a bit of calm and comfort in a cup.

Chamomile 4 stars

Recommended Steep 212°F for 5-10 minutes. I steeped at 212°F for 7.5 minutes in approximately 11 oz of water with 1.5 tsp of Adagio tea/rock sugar.

This is a very pretty tea, visually, with it’s yellow flowers. Oddly enough, it smelled very sweet, but only lightly floral. It reminded me most strongly of pineapple. At first I wasn’t sure I’d like plain chamomile tea, but as it cools, it becomes quite sweet and tasty, with, at least to me, subtle pineapple notes. The flavors even out to a moderate level, with a pleasant aftertaste. I think I prefer chamomile in blends, but I would not hesitate to drink the plain version if it were given to me. It is a relaxing cuppa. 4 stars from me.

I don't drink plain chamomile tea as I have mild allergy to it. A bit mixed in a blend is fine...but chamomile by itself I avoid. This review is on the tea itself, not on brewing or taste as i couldn't drink it. In my packet was a large portion of whole chamomile flowers and a dusting of pieces. Definitely a quality chamomile tea for those who imbibe or those who want to mix the herb in with another tea.
1/1/2023 - I have learned to just avoid chamomile entirely. My body just doesn't react well to it at all.

UPDATED from 3/2/21: There is the floral aroma of the chamomile meeting my nose as the CommuniTEA packet opens. All the lovely full flowers with happy heads and bits pour into the infuser and steep into the loveliest bright yellow gold! The smell and flavor is distinctly chamomile. It is a full bodied flavor. Sadly, I am no longer a fan (overdid it when it was the only tea I drank for years - not a good idea) but I can appreciate its full flavor, especially in blends. I am so glad I still gave this packet a chance because I was pleasantly surprised by how good this Adagio version is, especially when cool. Adding ¼ teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) really sweetens the cup. Good tea! (5 mins @ 212ºF + sweetener).

I don't normally like chamomile and don't ever buy it - but after I tried a small sample from the portion bag, I was stunned it tasted so sweet and completely different than any other chamomile. I actually ended up ordering a bunch more!

Love this chamomile and it is a staple in our house. Both my husband and I drink this at least once a week, sometimes mixing it with other teas to make our own blend.

Exactly what you'd expect from the image, chamomile is an enjoyable tisane before sleeping if you want to watch your caffeine input. Decent quality though I did pick a few of the less desirable looking buds out before I steeped.

Better than some bagged chamomile teas I've tried in the past - tasty and very effective for inducing sleep! Just wish I could figure out the best timing to minimize contaminating toothpaste with this before bed.

Very strong flavor. Don't expect any powder, this is proper flower. Great for a nightly unwind. Best made with honey rather than sugar to avoid an overly sweet taste

'taste like sunshine' as ive read from others and i have to say its really accurate, this was one of the highlights of my purchases and its super cheap to get large amounts and to add to other teas!

Flowery aroma that filled the senses. Has a 'warmer' color to its flavor and very smooth and full. Calming tea before sleep.

Great relaxing tea with a wonderful fragrance. I mix in some lavender buds and some lemongrass, but even alone it has a nice soothing quality. It makes a flavorful bedtime tea, or you can drink it throughout the day for its anti-anxiety effects.

UPDATE: This is still nearly as fresh as when I first bought it (over a month ago). It has a sweet smell and is very relaxing.

Absolutely delightful chamomile - floral and mellow. I bought lots to experiment with different bedtime blends and I'm so glad I did. It's the perfect background to anything I add - lavender, valerian, lemongrass, etc.

★★★★★

High quality chamomile! Smooth and slightly sweet, tastes best with a little bit of a local wildflower honey to me!

★★★★★

Very relaxing tea. A good one to have at night to calm down and get ready for bed. Like a teacup full of sleeping pills!

★★★★★

Love the flavor profile. Reminds me of what I had growing up in Mexico. Earthy, floral, with notes of apple.

★★★★★

It's a joy to have such a high quality chamomile tea in the house. A pain to clean out of the tea infuser, but it comes with the territory. I'd take that if it meant I could have a hot smooth cup of chamomile.
