I am slowly acquiring the taste for this Smokey tea. This is a pretty good blend of flavors.
Honeybush hazelnut and cocoa nibs relax and ground you, while a spice blend of aniseed, cinnamon, clove, and orange peel offer cozy comfort.

I am slowly acquiring the taste for this Smokey tea. This is a pretty good blend of flavors.
My least favorite adagio tea I have tried. The flavors just did not work together at all. Did not take me back to bonfire days, just confused and disappointed.
The smell of smokiness is evident the moment you open the package. This is spiced and delicious, evoking campfire memories from scent to final taste. Sweetened this with honey.
I couldn't put my finger on these flavors; there's chocolate, orange, cinnamon, a hint of smokiness. An average honeybush spice tea, strong autumn flavors and vibes. Its bland in the sense of being one note, but it is full of flavor. Just okay for me. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA October box.
I found it very hard to get past the extremely strong smokey smell. If you enjoy very smokey flavor or enjoy lapsang then this tea is for you.
Spices were fine, but I can't handle smoke flavor.
As others have mentioned, the smoke flavor really dominates this one. I picked up a container of this earlier and found that a lighter brew with sweetener helps. Lapsang souchong is really not for me though (4min @ 100C)
It's just not for me. It actually tastes like a bonfire, so I call that a success! If you like lapsang souchong, I think you will enjoy it.
I loved this one! I love most all smoky teas, and the fact that it's herbal is just that much more fun!
Pleasant smoky smell both in the bag and when brewed, but the flavor, while nice, wasn't anything spectacular. The more I drank, the more I liked, though. A nice cup of tea to drink on autumn night
All i taste is smokey tea, i brewed it double the amount of water so it was a light smokey tea flavor. Its good if you like smokey flavors.
This tea is a weird one! It smelled like I left my jacket by a campfire and tasted like I breathed in smoke! When I added some milk, some of the more subtle flavors came out, and I started to like it a lot more (tasted somewhat like smoky chocolate). I wouldn’t order a bigger container, but I’m glad I tried it.
The cinnamon and cloves dominate the nose and palate of this very interesting tea, hints of peppercorn and hazelnut to finish. 4 ⭐️
I feel that I personally just really can’t do the the overly peppery smoky flavor it’s just too much for me. The scent and flavor combined was just too much for me.
I felt that this was ok. There was just something in in that I wasn't' a fan of. It could be the peppercorn. I already purchased a sample as part of the Autumn box, so I'll keep it around but won't be reordering it.
The smoky smell of this is very strong- which is off-putting for me. However, once I got past that I did enjoy the cup. I added a small sugar crystal half way through which made it more enjoyable. I don't usually purchase teas that need sugar, though.
It has a very a full flavor for a rooibos tea with trace caffeine. I would drink this again if offered it around a campfire, but I would not go out of my way to get it again.
This tea will definitely be polarizing for people due to the smokey flavor of the lapsang souchong. I personally enjoy the smokey flavor mixed with apple and spice flavors. I drink it hot with a little sugar and milk.
This tea was milder and less fruity than I was expecting, but quite delicious. It tastes a lot like Constant Comment with less spice, plus some smokiness. I look forward to drinking more of this one.
This is a really odd one for me. I’ve never actually had a tea with lapsang in it so I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect. That smokiness is super dominant for the first half of the drink and then it started to mellow out and I got more of the fruit flavors as I kept sipping. I also weirdly get a aftertaste that kindof reminds me of bacon (but it’s not awful). I wouldn’t necessarily buy this again, but I’ve got a few other teas with lapsang in my stash so I’m wondering what the balance of flavors of those will be now.🤔
Its not terrible, but it's definitely smoky enough that it's not my favorite.
I really enjoy smoky teas and this one didn’t disappoint. The lapsang souchong is a little more subtle in this blend than others I’ve tried. It blends well with the orange and spices.
This tea reminded me of the Lounge Chair Lapsang that was included in June CommuniTEA box. This tea smells very weird and tastes awful.
Smells interesting, like the remnants of a wood fire. I'm sure there's a market for this, but it's just not me, I'm not into smoky flavors.
After reading all the comments today in The CommuniTea, I expected to not like this blend. But, I didn't think it was that bad. I might have actually liked it, but there was just a little too much anise in it for me. I didn't mind the smokiness of the lapsang, one of my favorite blends is a lapsang blend. I finished it, I almost always do because sometimes it'll taste very different by the time you finish. But, I didn't like it any better by the end.
This one is not my cup of tea. I am not a fan of the smokiness that comes from the Lapsang Souchong tea. Don't let me discourage you from trying, I'm a firm believer that...you won't know till you try it.
Alot of smokiness with not as much spice coming through.
If you like smokey teas and drinking campfire smoke, then this is the tea for you! It’s true to its name, that’s for sure. My entire kitchen has a faint campfire smell to it, even though I made this tea hours ago. It’s really the smoke smell that gets me. It’s not terrible to drink, but having to inhale the smoke scent the entire time I’m drinking is off putting. It’s a shame because the rest of the ingredients pair nicely together. I love the little bite from the peppercorns. I supposed without the smoke, it wouldn’t be bonfire.
I normally really enjoy Smokey Lapsang teas so was very intrigued by this one. It wasn’t for me though. I just felt like the other flavours didn’t meld well with the smokiness of this tea
I'm not a fan of smoky flavors so this isn't the tea for me.
Yum! I loved the smokiness of this tea and the combination of really worked for me.
Smoky. It tastes like I am sitting before a fireplace, drinking orange spice tea in the 80s.
Kind of a weird combination of flavors that I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink again. The prominent flavor is smoke with a hint of fall spices. I guess I’m not big on smokey flavored teas.
Much better lapsang souchong than the Father's Day CommuniTEA! However, it's still just ok. The overall flavor is kind of dull with a slight smokeyness. I really wish the cinnamon, cloves, and peppercorn were more predominant. I have a full pounch of this I've been hesitant to try because of the lapsang, and I will probably add additional spices and dark honey when brewing it again. I think it can be tweaked a little to a much better and more flavorful brew.
Now I like me some smoky teas, but this was just meh. It was mellow on the smoke, but also low on the other flavors. If I want something similar, I'll just add some cinnamon to a cup of lapsang souchong.
I guess I can’t love all teas...if I wanted to feel warm and cozy by a fire, I would just light a fire. And even if I were at a bonfire I sure wouldn’t want to be drinking smokey tea while getting hit in the face by the smoke from the fire. Just not for me.
Wow, I was hoping for a spicy smokey tea, but all I got was smoke. Smelled burned and tasted similar. Not for me.
This tea is interesting and may take you a sips to determine if you love it or hate it. I love it!. This is the perfect tea to enjoy on a cool fall night.
I’m not sure about this tea. It’s a conundrum. Smoky is the best I can describe. I don’t think I will order it.
Very smokey. I cant really stand it smell. It’s very weird and not pleasant to my taste.
Too Smokey for me and definitely has the aroma of a campfire
By the ingredients it sounds delightful. I really wanted to LOVE this tea. But I just can’t get over the smokiness of lapsang souchong... it’s so overpowering and nauseating. I will say this does smell (and taste) exactly like a campfire. It’s definitely not for everyone... But if you enjoy smokiness this could be the tea for you!
I usually love spicy teas but there was just too much going on. Nothing to make it stand out. Perhaps more blend with another. Just not for me but that’s my taste. Others may love it. But that’s the fun in CommuniTea after all. It’s experiencing the new and different. Thanks
This tea tastes quite nice, but it smells horrific to me, which leaves me a weird sort of cognitive dissonance and I'm not sure how I feel about that...
This was a communitea sample. It smells and tastes like the smoke from a bonfire to me. The smoke taste is overpowering and the after taste is hard to get rid of.
If you were to drink a campfire, this is what I think it would taste like. The smokiness came through but not in a I drinking something burned kind of way. I added sugar, so my tea was very sweet. The many spices seemed to blend together, leaving me with a cup of campfire. As I sipped more and the sweetness came through, I decided it was like I had a roasted marshmallow over the campfire. Then that marshmallow being nicely charred, melted in to my cup, and then I sprinkled some cinnamon on top. I can not say I really tasted the orange or hazelnut.
There is a slight aftertaste of peppercorn, but not much really stands out in this tea.
This is the essence of Autumn. The aroma smelled just like fall. This would make a wonderful candle. I couldn’t stop sniffing it. The taste is delicious on a cool night. A little smoky, buy not too much. The flavors blend so well together.
Decent herbal tea. I felt like I wanted some more zing to it, but very nice on a cool evening
This is a wonderful blend for fall and winter. With the larger ingredients, each individually brewed cup has a slightly different flavor.
A little Smokey, a perfect night time tea reminiscent of its namesake.
