Blood Orange Customer Reviews

Deep vibrant color and sweet flavor. Hearty with a good balance of orange peel dryness and fruit juiciness.

I wouldn't care for this on it's own, but it is quite tasty blended with other teas. It tastes like real orange.

Tarty and zingy and delicious. I did have to add a teaspoon of Agave nectar but I tend to like my tea sweeter.

I'm in love with this tea. I usually don't enjoy herbal teas as much as a good Oolong or Green, but this is fantastic. Sharp, fruity, and smooth, this tea goes great on a summer night.

best orange tea I've had. Not sweet, but simply just orange with some extra tartness. Perfect for mixing with a black tea also.

★★☆☆☆

As I opened the package and a wonderful orangey fragrance wafted out, I had hopes that this tea would taste as good as it smells. Sadly, after brewing all I could taste was the strong acid flavor of rose hips and hibiscus flowers. Disappointing!

It has a wonderful smell, and is tart but tasty. I enjoyed the tart flavor without adding any sweetness to my tea.

Tea tastes wonderful, more complex flavor than your standard orange, but not overpowering. Great aftertaste.

I love to drink this to relax. If you let it steep, the flavors become overwhelming.

Very nice taste, slightly dry taste at times. Mixes well with other Teas.

I use it as a nice addition to other teas'. Brings in a nice fruity flavour.

I'm new to tea, but really like the fruity flavors and this one is awesome. The color is a deep reddish orange, the scent is yummy all on it's own, and the taste is really nice. As others recommended in thr reviews, I added in a little roibos vanilla to the mix and sweetened (just a LITTLE) with stevia, and it's like a dreamsicle desert.

Extremely delicious! A great orange flavor with notes of hibiscus.

Too acidic, and not enough orange flavor for me. Brewed straight, it gives me heart burn. It's marginal in blends.

*Knock-knock* Who's there? Banana. Banana who? Banana. *Knock-knock* Who's there? Banana. Banana who? Banana. *Knock-knock* Who's there? Orange. Orange who? Orange you glad I didn't say 'banana'?

All jokes aside, this tea rocks. I'm not normally an 'orange' tea person because they usually have an overwhelmingly powerful artificial orange-citrus taste with a bitter aftertaste, and most orange teas are a 'spiced' tea. Blood orange is different. This is the color of a blood orange (hence the name) from the hibiscus. It's got a subtle perfume from the rosehips. And the orange peel is slightly sweet and refreshing instead of heavy and bitter.

I used 1/2 heaping Tbsp for 10oz of water since this tea is made of large hibiscus leaves and big chunks of orange zest and whole rose hips. With 1tsp as suggested, you get about 1 piece of each and the tea is much too mild/watery. No sweetener necessary, this is perfect as is, hot or cold. Even if you're not a fruit-tea person, I'd give this a shot.

This has a nice orange flavor, and was good as iced tea. We had blood orange in another brand, and I didn't like it at all. So I was reluctant to try yours, but I'm glad I did!

This one is so refreshing. I love it hot or cold. It is also great mixed with other citrus teas.

Just as the other reviews say, this will become a new favorite, and it has. No sweetener needed, tastes amazing by itself.

My favorite herbal tea, the orange is sweet and comforting. No additional sugar or sweetener needed.

As is the case with most of these herbals, I prefer to add this to other teas rather than drink it straight. It goes well with the rooibos teas, but I especially like it with flavored green teas including earl grey, cocomint, vanilla, spiced and mandarin. I think it works best if you brew it with hotter water first, then after about 2 minutes the water is cool enough to add the green tea and brew for another 2-3 minutes.

Love the flavor in this, I often use when blending with other teas- just adds a nice hint of citrus.

I mixed the blood orange with the vanilla rooibos in hopes of it tasting like a Dreamsicle. The orange tasted watered down, but I think I need to perfect the blending art. I have not tried this one on its own, yet.

This tea smells like heaven. Orange dreamsicle candy, anyone? I would use this as potpourri! It tastes good, too, but definitely needs a touch of sweet to bring out the flavors. There is a real nice tartness without bitterness. I could see this iced with lots of lemons floating in it. I'll buy this one again!

I am not a fan of this tea. It is very bitter. I don't get the aroma or taste of a blood orange. I have tried to make a few cups but I had to throw away each cup and actually give the rest of my tea to a co-worker.

Another great fruit tea blend from Adagio, and great both hot or iced. I like to add a little bit of sugar or honey, but it's certainly drinkable without it.

I haven't tried many herbal teas, but I really like this one. The orange flavor is intense and the color beautiful. Very tasty.

Good tea (if you like fruity tea) all by itself, but I really like to use it with a lightly flavored oolong to make a great blend.

My favorite herbal. Can take some of the worst flavors and make them tolerable. Also good chilled for kids. Only downfall is that a second steep is much weaker, a third is almost out of the question. Steep it about 7minutes to really get the goods.

Very nice rich orange flavor that is great on it's own but could use about a quarter teaspoon of sugar to make the flavors blend together.

Blood orange is great if you like a very tart, very citrusy flavor. It's nice to mix with other teas too!

I really only drink this tea mixed with chamomile, but in that mix it is fantastic. It is sweet and citrusy, but not a pure overpowering citrus -- I think that must be the hibiscus and rose hips.
The smell of the tea alone is too medicinal for me to want to try it by itself without the mellowing effect of the chamomile.

This blood orange is a little bitter but I am going to try steeping it for less time, and see if that helps.
