This green tea is light and fresh and not too pungent. It makes a good tea to serve with sandwiches and rice, or mint cake.
Classic steamed green tea from Shizuoka, Japan. Crisp and clean cup, notes of freshly steamed edamame. Refreshing, sweet, and much more delicate than most Senchas. If you're new to Sencha (and the vibrant teas of Japan in general), this would be a great place to start.

Really nice green tea, especially for someone e who " doesn't loke green tea"! Not too strong or grassy.
Sublime. Great sencha. Mild and grassy. Not astringent
This is quite vegetal and tastes like dark green. It's not my favorite, but if you like a more savory tea, this one's a great option!
This tea can be quite vegetal depending on how it's brewed. If I want the stronger vegetal notes I steep it for 2 minutes and if I want a more mild tea I'll give it around a minute. Green tea has been more of a challenge for me to get into than black teas. The first several cups of this I liked it, but once I discovered I could detect sweeter notes if I hold it in my mouth for a few seconds my enjoyment increased quite a bit. Now I look forward to making a cup of this one, mainly later in the day when I want less caffeine.
Nice flavor for this type of tea. Only good hot and it has a great lasting taste to enjoy a nice hot cup with some asian food.
Sencha Premier is a bit to fishy for me. I prefer jade snail or gunpowder and especially sleeping dragon for my greens. Id drink this one again but its not my go to.
As someone who lived in Japan, I really missed the iced green teas there. I use this tealeaf to make my own iced green tea by brewing it as instructed, then cooling it down.
Good quality leaves despite not being my ideal cup of tea, I have tried this gong fu style and western brewed but still I get straw notes both ways which is honestly a pretty warm and familiar flavor but not typically what I reach for. I got my first ever 'chabashira' with this tea so it is special to me nonetheless!
Im not the biggest fan of green teas, but this tea is very good. When steeped properly, this is very good tea
This is an excellent Sencha, worth the upgrade from the Overture. It has a fresh, vegetal, seaweed like taste.
My favorite green tea yet. The grassy flavor is mild and very pleasant, and the color of the brew is fabulous.
I am not sure how I feel about my sampling Sencha Premier today. My kettle heated 170 then I let it sit before pouring. I first noticed the dry to to look like a fresh parsley with little stems or long needle pieces. Dry Sencha was a gorgeous deep green color.Aromatically, I caught slightly steaming wafts of an aroma I could only compare to a steamed spinach. The color was a vibrant spring green. The first taste seemed very vegetal yet oddly slightly sweet. The sweetness faded to a more vegetal, almost bitter taste. I left it be then tried again at room temperature and that's where the Sencha Premier began to shine. There was no bitterness, but no sweetness either. The cup just tasted ' green' if you know what I mean. There was an after flavor that I am not sure I enjoyed so I gave it a three stars I am willing to try it again and submit a review next sampling. Maybe Sencha isn't my thing. Time will tell
I didn't love it necessarily though I had been excited when I first opened it. I liked the smell of it but the first taste threw me off. Interestingly enough I did get the notes of butter in it, maybe I was too afraid of oversteeping it but I didn't find it particularly strong.
This tea definitely reminds me of Japanese restaurants. Very soothing and quiet, if that makes sense.
a nice green green, vegetal flavor, soft buttery undertones, not too grassy.
I have tried many sencha teas before. So going in I was hopeful for a pleasant veg level. Some tend to be pretty much canned spinach water heated up and others are amazingly savory. Luckily, this one falls into the latter category. It was savory, slightly buttery on the texture, and just the right level of that grassy/ veg flavor. There is a welcome and extremely faint astringency on the finish that keeps me sipping again. Going to try to get more steeps out of it as it is a wonderful green. 165° 2 min
I am a big fan of green teas so was excited to try this one when it came around in Communitea. Initial steep was 165f for about 1m45s, second steep 165f for 2min15s, third steep 180f for 2min15s. I thought all steeps were good though the last one had a slightly more pronounced astringency. A lovely pale greenish yellow color in the cup, aroma of cut grass, not very astringent but definitely a dry finish. Will be ordering a bag of this soon.
May ‘25: better at 175 for 2 min but still pretty mild
Honestly doesn’t taste like much? Steeped 2:30. Definitely strong spinach-adjacent fragrance, the kind of ‘savory tea’ that also reminds me of chicken broth (but good!) but the taste is just very mild and watery.
Wow, I really like this one! It is deliciously savory. A toasty, buttery sort of vegetal flavor with a mild astringency that I keep going back to.
Beautiful, smooth, light, airy grassy green! Although the 'grassy' taste isn't overwhelming, just lightly vegetal. Very springy and enjoyable - I love this tea!
This was a pleasant green tea - I was worried, but didn’t find the scent of the packet quite as grassy as expected from the reviews. Because I enjoy green tea, but hate the smell of freshly mown grass! I steeped it 165 for one minute for the first cup, and 165 at 2 minutes for the second. If you like a lighter flavor, I recommend the 1 minute - however I enjoyed the 2-minute steep better, and actually went back and re-steeped the first cup for an additional minute for extra flavor. So I would recommend trying that as well, but I think 1.5 minutes would be kinda perfect. However I think I get some of my tea taste from my grandma who never takes the teabag out and it just steeps forever - lol!
We will see how it fares when chilled later today - I prefer to fridge cool over watering it down with ice.
Smell is a bit odd, but the taste is rather delicate and smooth. 160°f 2 minutes.
CommuniTEA sample: 2 min @ 165 F. This tea is super subtle in flavors. Nothing too strong in the aroma, nothing too strong in taste, but still, very good. Don't let potential grassiness throw you off guard, I found it to remind me more of a vegetable stock, but a raw one, if that makes sense. You get some green flavors for sure, but they're sweet and refreshing, rather than anything dry or roasted. There is a little bit of bitterness that actually comes with that, but I think that it all comes together very nice in a smooth, soft, refreshing cup of a classic Japanese green! I personally prefer a little grassier, stronger flavor, but this is certainly a tea I’d happily drink again!
I adore a good buttery and grassy green tea and this is it for sure. There is not even a touch of bitterness in this brew; it is rich and savory and delicious. I'm one of those strange people who quite enjoys the vegetal notes in this tea.
Heaven on Earth... Have been enjoying the sencha overture, and was waiting months to try this one. Its my absolute top number one fav! Thanks to WiddenDream, I finally tried sencha a few months ago- and nothing can top it for me! I wish I could wear it as a perfume.
Wonderfully GREEN, vegetal, slightly grassy, creamy- LOVE
Trying to drink more green tea for the health benefits. Again, not a fan. I keep coming back to the Jasmine Yin Hao.
We drink this tea daily. The kids will drink it with no sweeteners.
I love this tea. It's fresh and somewhat sweet. I really like grassy green teas and this is my new favorite.
Very light not as strong as I hoped but I’m not sure if my infuser was too small or something this is perfect if you enjoy clear lighter green teas
Best daily tea ever, it’s perfect for any day or night. Do reasonably priced too
This is the stuff man. This is what you wanna be sipping when you're doing that thing. This tea gets you up and doing it. One sip and you're done. The cup's gone and the thing is done. That's it. If time flies when you're having fun, then drinking this tea transforms both space and time. The weird part is, I enjoyed every sip. It's over before you know it, and you know it's over before you start. You are aware of how good it is precisely when you are.
This was a very grassy green. I like green, but this one might be one I need to be in the mood for
This tea was a bit too vegetal for me.
I'll finish my cup but probably not buying for myself.
I enjoyed this buttery smooth green tea. I enjoyed without sweetener. Not bitter or grassy tasting.
I really enjoyed sipping Sencha Premier this morning. It's light, slightly vegetal and clean tasting. I was able to get multiple steeps. Brewed this at 160F for about 1 minute.
One of my favorite greens (other than kukicha) and always welcome in my tea cabinet. Light and vegetal, it's not as in-your-face as some greens or matchas. It is very easy to overbrew, but that's easily countered with some honey or sugar. Or just power through like I do lol
A powerful GREEN! J'adore Sencha! The Greenest Green! 💚 Beautiful, delicate leaves, a buttery texture sip, savory & just an alluring, lively coloured Steep!
This one's really nice! I was expecting something grassy but I instead got something that was complex and smooth.
This is a very lovely and delicate green tea. This being said, be careful.of your water temp amd make sure it's lower than your white tea temp. I strive for 165 and set a timer so you don't over brew.
Love this tea, delicate, refined flavor so you know you're drinking something good. I've loved this since the beginning and I think I always will.
Tea is light and vegetal. It’s a great cup of tea and one I will drink often.
This is adagio’s best tea in my humble opinion. It’s perfectly “green” and vegetal; not for those who like something fruity or overly sweet. The smoothness of this tea has made it my daily drink for years.
This tea steeps to a beautiful bright green and has such a light, earthy taste. A definite repurchase!
An excellent green tea. I like green tea and I want to learn to love it. So I am exploring green teas and how I like to drink them best.
Sencha is super good it has a good taste and I recommend giving it a try .
This is soooo good as a tea base! I love to add it with hibiscus and butterfly pea to make a super yummy blend.
Love Sencha! Not to bitter for my taste and get a couple of steeps out of it!
Have ordered the sencha premier green tea for years and will say it's the best tea I've ever tasted.
Wonderful matcha like flavor. Light and refreshing hot or cold. Very delicate champagne like flavors.
