Delicate twists that expand into a nice full leaf. Vegetal and grapey with a slight seaweed note; it cants lightly toward savory with a bit of astringency. The described floral-smoky is less obvious but does serve as a balancing overlay. Quite light and burns easily.

A high quality vegetal flavored green tea without a grassy taste. I like the taste of Tai Lake Pi Luo Chun, but this tea still tastes better than most green teas.

This was a fun tea to try -- learning about the history behind the name made it all the more interesting, and I do love how differently the leaves appear compared to other processes.

Hot brew: I’m wondering if I got an odd batch, or a different tea from everyone else. No matter what I do, this brews up with very little flavor but plenty of bitterness. 2/5
Cold brew: this is actually pretty nice when cold brewed. No bitterness, light flavor with a nutty and vegetal note. 4/5
If I were to get this again, it would only be for cold brewed iced tea.

A different type of green tea. This has a flowery and smokey taste to it.

Light and airy, sweet and floral. Perfect by itself or paired with fruit and honey. Great for multiple infusions.

Edit: the 2 oz package did not taste or look like the sample packet. No snowy colors. No grape taste. Completely different.
Reminds me of a fruity grape flavored, Smokey, savory butter taste. Hard to describe but very delicious.

One of my favorite greens! Light and refreshing, doesn’t get too strong. Lovely light golden color 😊

A very earthy tea that definitely had me thinking of grass at some points, but still interesting to try!

I was surprised by this one. The initial aroma was not appealing once brewed. However, the lightly toasty, vegetal taste was pleasant enough. Not something I’d buy again but not something I’d toss in the trash. !

So.. I’ve had this tea a few times already.. however today having in the Kumo Teapot offered here, the taste profile is different! So your vessel matters!!~. And the flavor profile is actually wonderful (ordering more now). It reminds me of green tea from Japan.. has those grassy/spinach notes, but a bit milder then a sencha may have. But very pleasant.

One of my top 3 teas. This is floral to the scent and very botanical on the nose. It gives way to mellow undertones of freshly steamed greens. Some note slight smokiness but I consider it to simply have mild astringency which rounds this dynamic tea off nicely. First infusion is the best, second loses about 35% of flavor.

Immediately upon opening the bag of my Pi Lo Chun, I noticed it had a very unique scent and I was intrigued. Upon brewing it, the tea tasted and smelled so strong, so pungent, it reminded me of jasmine, and I really hate jasmine. I made it hot with burdock and green tea honey but nothing took the edge off of the smell. It is possible I may have oversteeped/burned it, so I am going to try it one more time, but as of right now I would not recommend this tea, unfortunately.

Although I prefer black teas, this one is not bad at all.

Excellent! Pi Lo Chun is one of my favorite unflavored green teas. It’s extremely delicate with a natural light sweetness. As a bonus, I can usually get at least 3 steepings out of the leaves.

This one is a lovely, rather complex flavor profile green bud tea with both floral and savory notes; the former being the dominant. I enjoyed this one Western brewed, but as with most pure, single origin teas I prefer to linger over multiple infusions gongfu style.

Lightly floral, with a nice mild bitterness to it.

I absolutely loved this tea, it was earthy in a subtle way, and floral in a good way. A very tasty green, I steeped at 170 for 1:30 and it was perfect with a dot of honey. And in the cart you go!! Excited for a second steep in the morning! Yum!

I really like this one. I didn't give it 5 stars because it is such a mild tea-- I had to steep it a titch longer to get at its flavor. My first trial was only a 2 minute steep at the recommended temperature, but being buds, 3 minutes worked better to coax it out to play. It has an 'aromatic' scent ('funky' in my terms), but the taste is soothing and interesting. This ranks higher for me than gunpowder which I find too assertive on its own.

This is a truly fantastic green tea that is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites. Be very careful with water temperature, if you steep at 180 F you get a wonderful, slightly sweet, slightly floral, and slightly fruity green tea. If you overshoot and brew too hot most of that flavor is lost to bitterness.

I adore this tea! It's subtly sweet with an overall delicate taste.

A lovely, delicate tea. The smokiness is definitely subtle.

So delightfully and reliably green, with the expected notes of a little something flowery here and a little whiff of toasted brown rice there. @adagioteas

This is a wonderful balanced green: a bit vegetal, a bit soft like a white tea, and a bit dusky.

I decided to try this because I love green tea and it's well liked by a few of my favorite tea reviewers! Adagio's description is quite close to my experience with this tea, except that the floral notes were subtle for me. It had more of a light, sweet, vegetal-type floral quality. Not an everyday tea for me, but I enjoyed pi lo chun!

This is a light and lovely sweet melon honey tasting tea. The pretty downy curly leaves smell like honey and hay but are light in weight, so I use about 2 tsp to get 2 grams per cup. The brew is light colored and tastes like creamy sweet pear with minimal grassy component. This is a mellow tea which is similar to Adagio s Hunan Gold yellow yea but not quite as crisp as that yellow tea. Adagio s Pi Lo Chun is not as strong or layered as the Wenshan Mist, but is is vastly superior to a bilochun I found imported in a local supermarket. I don t get much smoky or savory taste, but it is pleasant tea. For a similar price, I do find the Wenshan Mist more distinctive and flavorful. It rebrews nicely, but becomes progressively weaker. This is a great smooth and light cup, not too grassy, but also not as distinctly notable as some of Adagio s other greens. @adagioteas

A nice tea for those who prefer more traditional teas. The drink has quite a nice floral aftertaste, and I certainly can’t complain about its rich, earthy flavor. Overall a very nice tea, and one I would recommend to anyone who likes green teas.

Smells like vegetation (peas?) and Spring shrubs. The taste is weirdly sweet and a little smoky with a subtle wild floral/earthy character.

My VERY favorite green tea ever! I have tried multiple green teas and this is by far my favorite. It is smooth, flavorful, buttery, and a sweetness that makes it such a wonderful tea. The important thing is to steep it correctly, otherwise it might get more grassy and a bit bitter, but if it's steeped at a lower temperature and for only a few minutes it will be wonderful!!

Oops, my fault the first cup was bitter. It definitely didn’t need a heaping teaspoon but I got sloppy. Done correctly, no bitterness and a very nice, almost floral-grassy aroma. Sweet mild vegetal taste. I can tell I’ll be enjoying several steepings with this one.

Steeped this one st s lower temperature, 370 degrees. This tea was an interesting mix of vegetal and floral..it was almost like drinking vegetable flowers...I found it to be a decent green, even though I am not generally a green tea fan. If I were to buy a green tea, this would definitely be in the running since it has an interesting and unique flavour profile.
