This tea has a nice, clean flavor that is slightly resinous and vegetal. There is a hint of something floral, like orchids in the aroma. It's rather subtle, not overpowering. A good afternoon cup.
Green tea from Jiangsu, China. Made from the finest tender buds, hand-plucked and rolled. Perfumy and sweet floral, with a full body and slightly earthy and savory quality. Lingering, aromatic finish and delicate floral-smoky note.

This was a fairly good green tea. I will say it was slightly too vegetal for my personal preference, but there is still good things going on here. I thought the peppery background flavor was a huge positive and it was present all through. I almost gave it 4 stars and would have if the floral or earthy notes would have shown up for me. Since they did not I gave it 3. Steeped @180° 3 min.
Still lovely
Like White Monkey this one has a kind of ‘chicken broth’ savory thing going on in scent and taste while also being mild and soothing. I like it . I think sweetener would ruin it
CommuniTEA sample: 180 for ~2.5min, second and third infusion for 3 min each @ 180. This is a green tea. It has traits of a lot of other green teas, and if you're concerned about green teas being too light or too grassy or anything like that, it might not be for you. There are some vegetal aromas when you steep it the first time, I would say kind of like spinach, but also very sweet, kind of a forest resin kind of aroma. A little floral, even. The taste is bitter, but soft. I found it very calming to drink. I also found that it had some nice sweetness in it, something that tasted almost like roasted, caramelized vegetables. A little earthy as well. The first cup was the best, but it maintained its flavor throughout each infusion.
To my palate this tea would be kinder;
It could taste totally finer!;
But I didn't follow through;
Though i knew what to do!;
I SHOULD have remembered my timer!

Oh my, Temp and time;
Watch this and you will be fine!;
2nd steep did shine!

Just sniffing this tea before drinking I experienced floral notes that were quite delightful. It has a somewhat grassy flavor, with floral essences. I really enjoyed this calming tea. It would be good to meditate with. 185F for three minutes. Juts wondering though, since Trump put tariffs on China, will the price of tea go up?
Mildly seaweedy, mild in general. Not my favorite of the leaf variants we've tried so far but it's not bad.
Even though it was mentioned in the description, I was still surprised to find that this unassuming green tea indeed had an earthiness to it! It's definitely one of the bolder green teas I've had, but without being very vegetal, and certainly not the least bit bitter.
It tastes sweet, a little bit citrus and like roasted sesame. delicious. But some of tea leaves is too fine. That's the only problem of this tea.
This almost tasted like my beloved milk oolong somehow. It had that mellow initial taste and then a grassier/slightly smoky aftertaste.
A wonderful tasting light green with floral hints, I got a natural sweetness from this as well.
The leaf shape is wild, and the tea is quite delicate. Light, floral and refreshing.
Love this green tea, very gentle tasting with a pleasant aroma
This is a light, non-grassy green tea. It has a touch of floral and a slight astringent finish to it. I first steeped this gongfu style at 170F for 2
minutes. My 2nd steep was 1 minute.
Smooth, buttery, a touch savory, and not green or astringent. Not bad for a green tea, just not my cuppa.
This was an okay tea for me. Green tea is not my favorite.
This is a nice green tea. Pale yellow Color. There’s an earthiness to it and light floral notes. I enjoyed this tea with a little honey.
I like green tea. The dry leaves and twisted green and white. The aroma is pleasing to me and I get umami and seaweed. 2 min @ 165. Nice fresh green taste. No astringency.
Placeholder until I can try it at the proper temperature. I’m visiting family and there is no temperature controlled kettle. CT 3/14/2024
No thank you. The blurb describes it as 'smoky.' To me, it tastes bitter.
Delicious non grassy floral and slightly sweet green tea.
It's a very mild tea, but with a bit less than a spoon of honey it was decent. Probably wouldn't get it again, though.
Pi Lo Chun is a wondrous tea..that we, as a CommuniTEA, enjoyed on Pi Day. I'm a huge Green Tea fanatic..so this particular green is nuanced and delicious...what beautiful wispy, magickal leaf buds, too!
This was very good. It brewed so light I thought I messed up but the tiny rolls were all beautifully unfurled in the cup so I went with it. I drink most all teas with sweetner (honey, stevia, etc) but I try new teas plain. The flavor was amazing. It was very satisfying. I was able to get 2 cups from the sample and preferred it plain to just enjoy the flavors of the tea. I was starting to get hungry and considered a snack, but it curbed that feeling so I was able to prepare my actual meal. Very enjoyable cup of tea. 180-3min
Nice earthy green tea. light shade of green when brewed
Despite brewing according to instructions, this is still more vegetal than what I prefer in a green tea.
When I opened my CommuniTEA packet, I was met with grassy aromas from the tea. I steeped the tea for about 3 minutes and it produced a pale yellow cup of tea. The flavor was grassy, but light. I didn't pick up on floral notes, but it still tasted sweeter.
I think I would have preferred this cold. Its a well balanced full bodied green tea.
I was hesitant about today’s tea because I’m not fond if grassy teas. I steeped it at the recommended 180F for about 2.5 minutes, and my travel thermos mug holds about 16oz I think. The tea is very light - maybe because of the amount of water, but it’s drinkable. I think if I have the opportunity to try it again, I would use less water and steep it a little longer to get more flavor from it. I recommend that you give it a try!
This is a green tea to serve to those who claim green tea tastes too much like grass. No taste of grass with this tea. This would make a great gift for a green tea lover in your life.
Tastes very grassy. It isn't my favorite green tea. I don't care for the lingering aftertaste. It isn't awful. Maybe that's the smokey flavor. Have not found a smokey tea I like.
I enjoy green teas so it was no hardship to try this one. There is a buttery, lightly grassy taste to accompany the scent. One of those teas you need to be on top of while brewing, though; I overshot my temp and had to wait until I dropped so I wouldn’t scald it.
Pi Lo Chun green tea is a testament to the artistry and dedication of its producers. While its grassy taste may not be to everyone's liking, its undeniable quality cannot be ignored. For those who relish the verdant essence of green teas and seek a brew of superior craftsmanship, Pi Lo Chun may prove to be a worthy addition to their repertoire.
Delightful! This brewed to a bright light green. I didn't notice a prominent fragrance like the description, but it does smell good and I enjoyed the sweet floral green taste. It surprised me because I don't care for the floral palette, but I would drink this anytime.
i think this tea is wonderful. I only wiwh I used honey instead of rock sugar. Nice Pi Day treat.
The description is pretty accurate for the tea. I am a fan of green teas, but this one was just 'okay'. It was somewhat underwhelming and that may be a good thing if it is what you are looking for. For me, I kept wanting something more from it, I could definitely see it blended with some other delicate flavors to make something that really shined.
I am learning that less is more with some teas, so I steeped this for only 2 minutes, and was rewarded with a lovely cup of green tea. Smooth and light, but with an interesting flavor, not too grassy, a bit floral, a perfect cup for a spring day. I added a tiny bit of honey, which coaxed out a sweet fruit undertone.
This one is a favorite! No trace of grassy notes. Very light but with a wonderful light floral note. A perfect afternoon tea!
Nice light and vegetal. Soft with a touch of florals but slightly bitter aftertaste. Good but I prefer other greens.
I am a fan of milder teas and green teas. This tea is as earthy as I would expect. Blueberry honey helped to accentuate the fruity notes.
Noticed an aroma like kombu or earthy matcha, almost fishy at first when leaves were still steeping. Perfumy and floral after cooling down a bit. Sweet on the tongue and has a dry aftertaste.
Nice and smooth, just the way I like a green tea. A hint of grassiness and a tiny taste of floral notes on my palate makes for a delicious cup.
True to the description, this tea does indeed have an earthy, savoury quality. I didn't pick up much floral aroma or flavour from it, and the fact that it's not seaweed-y is a plus. That said, it's still not my preferred flavour profile. But I'm sure green tea aficionados will find this a nuanced and interesting tea. Steeped 2 min @ 175º.
I do enjoy green teas that are not too “spinachy” and this one is not. There is a bit of grassiness, but also some gentle sweetness. I much prefer this one gong fu style vs western brew.
To earthy and grassy tasting for me. Just not my cup of tea!
Pi Lo Chun is a green tea that will charm you with its distinctive shape and flavor. This tea has sweet floral aroma and flavor when steeped, with a full body and slight earthiness. The finish is lingering and aromatic, with a hint of floral-smokiness.
Delicous green tea with a slightly sweet yet earthy flavor profile. I really enjoyed this tea and will add it to my favorites list.
This is a pleasant green tea with a light vegetal taste and just a hint of floral. It’s nice and something I’d recommend to others who don’t like grassy greens as much as I do.
This is really tasty, a light delicate floral flavor and scent. I try to always steep my green tea leaves 2-3 times, and this is tasty for all cups, though less floral as you go along.
I typically go for mostly green teas. This is not my favorite green tea, but a nice change when I'm sick of my usual. Would buy again.
