In the packet, this tea smells sweet and sour like candy. I ended up steeping for about 4 minutes, trying to get some color to appear. The resulting tea was pretty much clear with a slight gray tint - not exactly appetizing.

The flavor is good; the green tea provides a pleasant, mildly grassy base. The strawberry is light, but tastes sweet and juicy. I think the watermelon presents more as a tartness like watermelon flavoring rather than actual fruit.

Unfortunately this tea smells much stronger than it tastes, even after a longer steep. I think it's practically screaming to be made as an iced tea so I can't blame it for being underwhelming while hot. Cold brewing should give all the ingredients enough time to impart their flavor. I'll try it in the warmer months so I'm not giving up hope for this tea!

This is a subtly flavored fruit tea with the strawberry being the dominant taste followed by watermelon. Overall, though, this is a refreshing green tea which would be delicious iced. No sweetening is necessary, but a bit of sugar brings out the fruitiness.

Made it iced, and it's so refreshing! I love the light taste of summer fruits.

Watermelon is my favorite fruit. Love that it is added to green tea and strawberry. I may consider this next summer. Compared to watermelon cooler which I buy for an iced tea, this is more like tea.

Part of the February 2021 CommuniTEA box. The lovely scent from the packet made me think there would be more watermelon flavor - but it remains delicate as a green tea. Yummy, but not much punch.

Sounded better than it tasted..brewed it for an additional 20m still could not pull out any flavor. I would prefer that the monthly tea have less fruity teas and more spice/earthy blends, or give an option.

Fruited teas always smell so good in the package! If only they followed through on their promises! The melon aroma was so enticing, and I crossed my fingers hoping that I would at least find my hidden green gem! As I carefully steeped at 180 degrees for about 3 1/2 minutes, the aroma drifted away. When sampling this tea hot, no real fruit flavor was detected. I added about 3/4 of a teaspoon of sugar, hoping to coax the elusive fruit out of hiding. As the tea cooled, it slowly started to slip through. Never did it jump out and say “here I am!” But as it cooled, it became a fairly pleasant green tea kissed with a hint of fruity essence. I would definitely try this one iced in the summer!

What an awful way to begin my new month with today's CommuniTea. First, I've never met a green tea that I've liked. Second, I absolutely despise watermelon. Real watermelon, anyway, although I like artificial watermelon flavor. This did have a slight Watermelon Jolly Rancher aroma upon opening the packet, and I was hoping it would carry through to the flavor after brewing. Unfortunately, it didn't. I can taste real watermelon, but the strawberry and hibiscus flavors balance it out. I can also taste the green tea, which just makes this not good for me. It isn't so bad that I'll dump it out, but I won't ever order this tea.

I made this iced and it was just ok. Very slight strawberry flavor, but not flavorful enough.

I received this tea as part of the Feb CommuniTEA box. This tea smells fantastic in the bag. The flavors are not quite as strong when brewed, but I can still taste both strawberry and watermelon. I think it definitely tastes best chilled. Will have to remember this blend for the summertime.

I'm not normally a fan of the artificial taste I get from a lot of Adagio's flavoring agents, but I ended up loving this tea! Smelled like cotton candy, tasted like a mild green tea with a hint of watermelon. Drank it hot and had no issues with resteeping!

An interesting blend, and one I have a feeling might be better enjoyed as a cold-brewed iced tea. The green tea itself is mild in flavor with a slight astringency. The watermelon is the most prominant of the fruit flavors. I imagine that this tea is what a green tea might taste like if one were eating a watermelon jolly rancher at the same time. A nice soft smell of mostly strawberries. The tea tasted lightly of green and the strawberry was the stronger flavor with hints a watermelon. I drank this warm at first and the flavors felt a bit muddled, but after adding a touch of sugar and letting it cool the flavors cleaned up nicely.

A very nice aroma wafts out of the communitea packet promising a lovely, fruity cup. I brewed at 180 degrees for 3 minutes. I found the first taste that comes to mind is that of a jolly rancher candy flavour(perhaps watermelon?), a taste that I am not overly fond of. there was some strawberry flavour in the cup as well but while I usually enjoy fruit blends this one just left me feeling it was a MEH cup of tea. I did not try it cold, and perhaps that may be the best way to enjoy this tea, cold and slightly sweetened, to bring out more berry.

After shoveling out my walk, this tea was a welcome warm glimpse of summer. I enjoyed it hot but I imagine it would be a delightful iced tea. Will have to purchase more to find out. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA February Box.

Not a bad green tea. The only reason i didn't give it higher for the rating for my CommuniTea sample is it's not one i'd keep on hand personally. I also did a 175 steep since i keep my water boiler at that temperature. I could smell the watermelon and strawberry when i opened the packet. Would recommend for people who like this flavor profile.

Today's CommuniTEA sample smelled like a ripe watermelon, a bit of a surprise in February!
Steeping like a white tea, as suggested, for 3 minutes at 180°F yielded a pale yellow liquor with a very slight pink tinge.

The first sip was very light, containing the watermelon and berry flavors at the start. Partway in, the hibiscus tanginess enters the mix followed by some light green tea flavors. The watermelon and strawberry playfully accent the delicate and light green tea very well. The green tea is reminiscent of a lighter version of dragonwell.

Testing this tea out with a sweetener proved a bit challenging because I made the mistake of trying it with a monkfruit sweetener at first. The monkfruit (luo han guo) flavor overpowered this tea's delicate flavors. The second attempt was more successful, using Adagio's rock sugar to sweeten without changing the flavor much. Adding sweetener brought out more of the melon and berry flavors of this tea, while balancing the hibiscus zing. The green tea polyphenols are still there, but a bit less dry. The finish is still lightly astringent to let you know they're still there.

Next, I decided to chill a cup of plain tea without sweetener, and the last half of the sweetened cup. Taste testing these two chilled samples against one another, with a sprig of spearmint as garnish, proved the suggestion right. Both sweetened and unsweetened versions were cold and refreshing. The spearmint adds a light minty scent to the experience, but doesn't overpower the flavor so long as it's not muddled. The sweetened version was the clear winner when chilled, and would make a great summer refresher.

Finally, I tried steeping a second time with 1 cup less water than the first steeping. The result was even lighter with less melon flavor. It seemed a bit too watered down, so this tea could use a top-up with fresh leaves on the second steeping.

Overall, this is a good light green tea with some delicate melon and berry flavors. It's good both hot or cold, but don't expect as strong of watermelon or berry flavors as it smells like. It works really well as a chilled summer cooler drink, especially with a spearmint sprig as garnish, though not required.

I'm not a fan of green tea, but this is one of the better ones. It has less of the green earthy flavor but overall the other flavors didn't come out very strong.

I wasn't sure if I would love it as I haven't been in the mood for a fruity tea, but the watermelon flavor is so nice and light and not overwhelming at all. I really enjoyed this one (which I received in the CommuniTea box).

The smell in the packet is delightful, redolent of apples and strawberries. The scent is stronger than the actual taste in the cup. It feels like a bit of a bait and switch! Where's all that good stuff I smelled? All I get is sour. (3 mins @ 180 F, no additions)

I don't particularly care for the combination of watermelon with hibiscus and green tea. The overall effect is an odd combination of dry, sour, and fruity that does none of the ingredients any favors. It's a shame, because the scent in the packet promises a lot more than what you get. The green tea was very light in this one, I could barely taste it at all and the body is pretty thin. It smells like a delicious watermelon candy, and also has a light watermelon taste except without much of the sweetness. I did like it on its own and didn't think it needed anything added to it. I will have to buy another bag to try it iced. (180° 3 minutes)

I'm not usually a green tea drinker, but the melon/fruity flavors elevate the taste to make it very enjoyable. I definitely taste the watermelon with the other berry flavors complimenting well in the background.

Review based on CommuniTEA packet contents today: First off, this tea is much better consumed cool to cold. For me, drinking this as a hot tea brings out a powdery tasting quality that is not pleasing. However, once I let this tea cool to warm, a complex enjoyable tea emerged. On the nose I noticed strawberry and Adagio's kukicha green tea essence. Upon taking a sip, I noticed the zing of hibiscus, watermelon and more strawberry characteristics, followed by a tangy watermelon and strawberry finish with a hint green tea tannins. I steeped this tea for 2:40 minutes at 185° F. Giving this tea three stars since I don't feel it is great hot.

This tea is best enjoyed cold. When warm, the fruity flavours are muted at best. The strawberry and melon become more pronounced as the tea cools. Sencha is not my favorite, but makes a good base for this tea.

The smell in the packet is strongly like watermelon gum, but brewed, the strawberry and watermelon flavors are much subtler. The taste of green tea is not obvious, it is blended very smoothly with the fruit. This is a pleasant tea to drink during a blizzard in February. The hint of juicy fruit reminds me of the life just beginning to stir under the cold ground!

This was a lovely surprise! When I saw that today's CommuniTEA packet was another green tea, I was prepared not to like it, since green teas are usually too grassy for my taste. This one, though, was really lovely! It was a little grassy when it was hot, but I mostly was able to enjoy the sweetness of the fruit flavors in it. As it cooled, it got sweeter still. I'm still not a green tea fan, but this is one of the few green tea packets I still finished instead of dumping after a few sips, so that's saying something.

All ingredients appeared to be present in my communiTEA packet this morning. Mild strawberry aromas were noted.

I did a 175ºF steep, as my kettle doesn’t have a 180 button. Thus, I increased my steep time by one minute.

When hot, mild smooth green tea “straw” tastes were noted. Mild strawberry flavors were present. Hibiscus flavors were mildly tart. So I added a bit of sugar to bring out berry flavors and sweeten things up.

When warm, moderate and slightly sweet strawberry flavors were noted. I could not detect any melon flavors. The tea supplied a mild buttery smooth mouthfeel. Mild and acceptable green grass flavors were noted.

Towards finish, the hibiscus intensified strawberry tastes by supplying mild tart flavors. The green tea was pleasant and bittersweet with a nice zingy aftertaste on the tongue. A second steep had pleasant green tea tastes, but with very little fruit flavors. (3 mins @ 175ºF, 1/4 tsp sugar)

I enjoy the melon and strawberry taste as it cooled. The green tea is sencha, so warning if you know your tea leaf preference. Sencha has always tasted very seaweed-y taste. I don't enjoy it so adding in some rock sugar helps knock that down. The ability to go cold and still taste good is nice

Nor a fan of the watermelon flavor in tea. I find watermelon flavor, other than in the actual fruit, tastes artificial. This is no exception.

This tea smells phenomenal! Really strong watermelon and strawberry smell. A very strong watermelon flavor to the tea. The green tea flavor is in the background, but not prominent, and personally, for me, I would like to have something where the green tea is stronger. This doesn't suite my pallet, but if someone wants a watermelon flavor in their green tea, this is definitely the tea to go with
