fantastic, but 180F is too hot for this tea...go a little lower with 140 and for 2.5 minutes. smokey flavor is great

★★★☆☆

A really good Japanese green tea, but not sure if it's worth the extra cost to me.

★★★★☆

This tea might look like antifreeze (flourecent green) but tastes a lot better. It has a very rich taste.

★★★★☆

I've had a hard time getting this one right - I think the recommended brewing time and temperature make the tea a little weak for my taste. My latest cup was very good (steeped for almost 4 minutes instead of 3), but I think with a little more experimentation it could be better.

★★★★★

A very nice green tea. Will be reording when I run low.

★★★★★

Very nice green tea. A bit too expensive though.

★★★★☆

Okay, upon reading some reviews and a little wiki-info about this tea, I believe the 180 degree recommendation on the package to be wrong. This is probably why my cups haven't been as divine as people say it is. I'm going to try it at 140 degrees next time...

★★☆☆☆

I am not a big fan of this tea. It is very earthy. If you like earthy teas then try this.

Had to give this one away. I did not like the spinach aroma. It seemed to get more bitter as I drank it, even from an insulated mug.

★★★☆☆

You know, I don't get why this is so highly rated. It is extremely difficult to brew, and very unforgiving. I probably only got it right once out of my whole sample tin. It was good that time though.

★★★★★

A great green tea. When I asked, I usually say this tastes what green tea should taste like.

★★★★★

The finest quality green tea I have ever enjoyed! Well worth the price, a little goes a long way. An extremely smooth and full flavour.

★★☆☆☆

This tea had too much of a spinich aftertaste for me, but it is a beautifully colored tea.

★★★☆☆

not for me. had a very strong vegetable taste. i could tell it was a high quality tea but just was not my type of green.

I like Japanese teas, what can I say. As with most Japanese teas though, you do need to know how to brew it. Too hot or too long and you can ruin it.

★★★★★

This is my all-time fav! So decadently green! Don't get it if you are not partial to that spinachy green taste but for fans, this one is a must!

★★★★☆

I randomly chose to try this tea. I was not disappointed.

★★☆☆☆

This tea smells and tastes of spinach. I was surprised to read that several reviewers had thought exactly the same. Not worth its price in my opinion, but I'm a pretty uneducated tea consumer, so take my review with a grain of salt...

Though the scent reminded me of a vegetable garden after a rainfall, this tea turned out to be very good. Don't let the first shock of the scent turn you away from trying this tea.

★★★★★

Exactly what a Japanese green tea should be! Brewed correctly (140F for 1-2min) it is sweet and delicate. The grassy flavor comes out with a hotter steep. I steep several times using hotter water each time.

★★★☆☆

When brewed at the recommended temperature and time, this tasted like the broth left over if you poached fish in spinach juice. I brewed a second infusion at 140 degF for 2 minutes and it was much nicer, but still not my cup of tea, so to speak. I will go back to it, however.

★★★★☆

This is a really interesting green tea. It brews to a bright yellow color and has a clean, very grassy, spinach taste. Interesting tea, but not worth the cost in my opinion. I give this tea a 7 out of 10.

straight forward yet refined tasting green tea. Though expensive for my palate.

★★★★★

Great example of Japanese green tea. Very fresh, vibrant... it just feels healthy drinking it. It's incredible, when you mix it with Jasmine #9 (talk about expensive tea!! but it's heavenly combination.) It puts a subtle wieght to the airy #9 and it brightens up the green tea with jasmine scent. Make it a little think with twice the normal amount, mix with honey, pour over ice. It's SOOO Yummy!! Like the bubble tea I order at the Tea House.

★★★☆☆

A little strange, looks like seaweed, and has an odd texture and taste. It's not bad though - most certainly worth a try to see if it's your thing

★★★★★

of course this tea is wonderful. the quality is fabulous. try it with the vanilla green or other mixtures to enhance the flavor of this healthy tea

★★★★★

By far the best green tea I have ever tasted. I drink it when I want to sit back and relax at the end of the day.

★★★★★

Upon opening the tin for the first time, a grand aroma overcame me and I knew right away that I would absolutely love this tea. I was right.

★★★★★

Fine and light, this tea is quickly becoming one of my new favorites.

★★★★★

Normally I am not crazy about 'grassy' green teas, and when I first tried this I wasn't sure what I thought of it. I liked it, but wondered if I was being swayed by the numerous positive reviews. Indeed, it is a complex green tea, which is unusual. I've come to enjoy it a lot, and will be ordering more (and looks like they're running low...better be quick!). Just make sure to brew at a low temperature and short steeping time (2 minutes I'd say)

★☆☆☆☆

Tastes like spinach water to me, and I love spinach. However, my fiance really likes it.

After searching many sites I found fairly explicit instructions on how to brew gyokuro. Using my sample of gyokuro, I got terrible results. Yet, when I tried a sencha brewing method I got stellar results...is this really gyokuro or high quality sencha?

★★★★★

One of the best green tea's I have had. Expensive but nice for a treat.

★★★★☆

Excellent green tea...a little too pricey and grassy for my taste. However, I do order on occasion.

★★★★★

Very enjoyable tea, not too grassy. Will re-order.

★★★★★

Very grassy with wonderful hints of spinach (or other dark greens). Brew at a lower temperature for the best flavor; I used ~130F.

★★★★★

By far the most superior of all green teas. Incredible flavour, the most complex of all the green teas I've had, and very well worth the price. Not only mildly sweet, but also full bodied. This may or may not be a good beginner tea since it is an acquired taste.

This tea has a very fishy smell ,and the taste has little to be desired.

★★★★★

Probably the best green I've ever had. The Japanese sure know green tea. Definitely not an everyday tea because of the price, but a nice treat every so often.

★★★★★

This is definetly the best green tea I have ever had. Has a faint aroma of seeweed to it which I find fantastic. I dont know if it is exactly worth its high price (especialy for the average tea drinker) when you can get a good sencha comprable to gyokuro for cheaper.

★★★★★

Well, of course Gyokuro is great. Gyokuro is simply a very very high quality sencha, with less bitter notes, and much sweeter. Definately not worth the high price, but good to have.

I love grassy, vegetal green teas, and this was a great example of it. It was not quite as nutty as I would have preferred, and I liked the dragonwell slightly more, but I enjoyed this tea nonetheless.

I just couldn't get into this tea. It is too grassy for my taste and it gets bitter if you let it get cold. I really didn't like it.

★★★★★

This is my favorite tea. Some have described it as vegetal, but I find it smooth and delicate. Friends of mine have thought the same and could taste a great difference in it from teas they have had before.

★★★★★

i'd been looking for a green tea that's comparable to the ones i had in japan and this was it!

★★★★★

This tea is probably the best green I've ever bought. The taste is very complex. It took me awhile to get the steep just right for my taste. If you buy this, you'll probably have to do the same for yourself. If you are looking for more than a generic green, this is the tea for you.

★★★★☆

I hadn't tried Japanese green tea till this one, I liked it. Only issue I have its its harder to clean up, the tea sorta gets mushy afterwards.

★★★★★

An excellent tea -- a little pricey for everyday consumption, but worth the price for special occasions.

★★★★★

I don't know a lot about green tea but I really enjoyed this one a lot, liked it better than the dragonwell.

★★★★★

Wonderfultea . My sister told me to be sure to get this one
