Good, mild grassy and smooth .Not memorable tea. If you are looking for a strong seaweed/grassy/earthy taste this isn't your cup
Steamed green tea from Japan. Gyokuro is among the finest of Japanese teas. Deeply sweet, aroma of freshly buttered greens - no grassiness or harshness. Soft on the palate with a balanced, delicate finish. Soothing and centering cup of tea.

Good, mild grassy and smooth .Not memorable tea. If you are looking for a strong seaweed/grassy/earthy taste this isn't your cup
Maybe I just haven't figured out how to brew this correctly but it's super bitter, so I'm not gonna order this again.
Tasty, sweet, light. Like a nice desert. I am new to Japanese teas and thought this lacks the complexity of flavor I was expecting from a Japanese green tea. Nevertheless, glad to have this one in my cabinet. Good for relaxing or to offer guests.
Again this is another green tea that I tried but while it was not bad, it was not something I particularly liked
This has a more developed and tangy flavor. It is likely appreciated more by the mature green tea consumer. This tea is one of the mainstays in our kitchen.
I adore gyokuro and this one is pretty good compared to a couple I have had, maybe a tad less 'bright' but continues to be one of my favorites. Don't order it very often due to the cost... :(
a nic rich, herbal flavor. very refined in character.
This is a very good tea, but I can't tell much difference between this and the sencha premier. The sencha premier is a bit cheaper, so next time I will probably buy that instead.
The gyokuro is smoother than sencha and dragonwell and thus more pleasant to taste, though it is not much to my liking: if I had to choose any green tea, it's the Genmaicha more than any other which I've tried so far. This is still an okay tea, just not my go-to nor favored.
It has a good and sweet flavor, reminds me of grassy greens like seaweed. One of my favorite green teas, drink it daily!
Best green tea, ever! I searched, researched and tried several brands. I have medical needs, but not until I tried gyokuro did I get relief! I do not start my day, every day until I have my tea. Thank you, Adagio!
Great flavor. Can smell the freshness. Awesome tea
Amazing. Not over powering, subtle, grassy and enjoyable.
The blue-green color of the leaf gets me immediately. I can drink 8 cups of this bright green and tasty tea in a row. It feels healthy and I am energized by the entire experience. It's the best green tea I've tasted.
Here it is October and it is still the best tea I have tasted as a green tea drinker. The fresh green vegetal taste is so easily drank for me, that I tend to require multiple cups of this beverage. The color alone is healing.
A light, grassier sort of green tea. Best without anything added to it.
My mom loves this. She likes a funky green tea, and brews this longer than it calls for. Brewed correctly it is subtle and clean.
Very earthy, savory tea. Don't overstep this tea.
I love this tea, although it is expensive. It has the green taste and aroma I expect when think of green teas.
Love, love, love this. This reminds me of the great tea I had when I lived in Japan so many years ago.
This is my favorite of the green teas. Smooth, grassy flavor. Can be brewed a second time. Make sure you don't over brew, it can become bitter.
It's been a while since I've had gyokuro tea but this particular brand is amazing! It has an almost sweet taste to it, which I particularly enjoy. Gyokuro makes me feel very relaxed and at peace.
Gyokuro is by no means a bad green tea. However, I do warns those who do not like a earthy tasting tea. Gyokuro is quite earthy tasting at times. However, it definitely tastes very healthy and you feel wonderful after drinking it (it sort rejuvenates you in a way). Overall a good green tea!
Pleasant and light. Great when you're hankering for a good cup of green.
Best tasting, pure green tea. Deep and bold without a grassy aftertaste.
A good tea, but not as flavorful as I had hoped nor as fine as dragonwell.
Great tea for the afternoon. Easy to brew and drink.
gyokuro is the rock star of green teas. delicious, aromatic, and very good for you. i have tried many brands, and adagio's gyokuro is the best. it's worth every penny!
Delicate and absolutely delicious. Do not overbrew as it turns bitter quickly.
Very distinct grassy smell and taste. I'm not a fan of grassy teas, but this one is alright.
A very nice tea with a nice aroma and taste. I enjoy this tea although it has become very pricey over the years but it is very good Japanese green tea and still is one of my favorites along with genmai cha and silver needle white tea.
Interesting. Its a green tea I wasn't quite familiar with, thus making it a novelty buy. I got it for some alleged neuro-enhancing properties. Regardless, a worthy buy
An excellent tea which should become a staple in everyone's collection. It is a little grassy with a toasted/nutty underlying flavor. it's complex yet smooth. I really enjoyed this tea.
This tea has a nice sort of sweet flavor, and I always enjoy it. Unfortunately the price makes me hesitate to purchase a large quantity.
This tasted very grassy to me. I might not be as into green tea as I hoped I would be, but I didn't tolerate this one as well as the Dragonwell.
Delicious and beautiful in the pot and cup. Beautiful color and aroma.
Don't be afraid of it. It's not the spinach water people tell you it is. It's very mild and after a sip or two you'll be hooked.
This is my favorite green. The dried leaf appears similar to a sencha, but the flavors and aromas are nutty and smooth despite the inherent grassy quality. Very delicate and balanced.
This is delicious! It's much more subtle than the types of green tea I usually like, but I found this to be pleasantly warming, and it had some natural sweetness to it! I would brew this even lower than the 170 degrees suggested -- pre-warming your pot and cups and putting in only slightly hot water seems to do it the most justice. Despite the lower temperature, this does really give the feeling of warming your body. It has an incredible aroma, too! I wish I could bottle up the scent and wear it as perfume!
Would not be a favorite, but probably high in theanine. Tastes a little bit too much like vegetables, or spinach water. I'm sure it's an acquired taste. I've just not acquired it.
Is this worth the price? Yes, a hundred times over! It has a lovely, strong flavor and the liquid turns the most beautiful color of green. Fantastic!
I'll start out by saying that I know the taste of seaweed. I thoroughly enjoy salted seaweed snacks and California rolls. This tea tastes exactly like seaweed flavored water.
Very smooth and clean, and one serving can be reused a few times.
I like this tea. I don't love it. It's sweet and a bit vegetal and very nutty. It is very difficult to brew and very unforgiving. It does have a nice flavor profile. I think this would be best appreciated by a connoisseur of green teas, which is by no means me.
I love the slightly vegetal taste of this green tea. It's not as high quality as other gyokuro I've ordered from other sites, but it's still good. Also - for some reason, though I use to drink gyokuro often, I now find it tends to makes me jittery but haven't pinpointed why yet.
Not a bad gyokuro. I've had better though at teavana.
This tea is so magnificent. It smells so fresh and vegetal out of the bag! I love the greenness in the flavor when steeped. I put in a couple brown sugar crystals and it really brought out the smooth, buttery flavors of the tea. Absolutely wonderful.
This is my favourite green tea, without fail. I bought a sampler pack and saved it with a star drawn on it to remind me EXACTLY which tea I need to make sure I reorder.
I've read that it's the 'crumbs' of the tea and that it's meant to be larger leaves rolled up. I do agree that if that is the way it's meant to be that Adagio should not it in the description. However, there's an accurate PHOTO of the tea supplied... Really, how could you miss that?
That said, I am content with what I received. The taste was amazing. It has a full, mouthfilling green, vegetal taste, which is exactly what I like when I am looking for a green tea. It brewed easily and with no astringency.
I can certainly understand some of the reviews. For instance, somebody likened it to 'spinach water'. It has a very leafy oriented flavour, and if that isn't to your tastes then you won't like it. I do!
I ice-brewed this tea! It was extraordinarily strong, and it was full of umami flavor. After I drank the first few sips of ice water that trickled through the tea, I decided to water it down. It has such a strong, pure flavor that even watered down 1:10 it was still super flavorful.
With this method of brewing you don't get very much of the grassy/spinach flavor, and you can actually taste beautiful buttery floral notes.
To brew it this way: layer ice cubes on top of the tea leaves and pour out the liquid as it melts. Water it down to taste. Or just steep it in ice water for a few hours, and it will be soo good!
Holy green tea, this is wonderful! It tastes a lot like matcha. The grassy notes are quite strong, but I personally like strong green flavors. I can see myself ordering a lot of this in the future.
This is a delicate and buttery grass green tea, not harsh. I enjoy it a lot.
