This is my favorite green tea. It has this very satisfying savoriness without being overpowering in any way. I don’t get much in the way of grassiness and I’ve never had it turn out bitter. I could drink it any time of day - I find it especially good as an alternative to mindless snacking, especially at night.

This is really a special tea! I'm a big fan of green teas and wanted to try something a little different, and this delivered. You get the fresh, grassy notes of the green tea, and the rice is toasty, nutty and adds body. It's really unlike anything I've tasted so far. I would say if green tea is usually not 'flavorful' enough for you, give this one a try. The aroma is toasty and pleasing and it really is a special treat. Perfect for an autumn morning.

Holy cow, this is my favorite tea of all time. It's both a drink and snack all rolled into one. i love the nutty flavor of the rice combined with the earthy flavor of the green tea. It's a wonderful drink no matter what time of day.

Genmai Cha is my absolute favorite style of green tea and this Adagio blend does not disappoint. Solid green tea flavor with some lovely toasty notes. Will buy again and again!

This is one of my favorite teas from Japan. The toasted rice gives the tea such a wonderful flavor. I highly recommend it.

I am surprised I like this one as much as I do. I have genmai cha almost every afternoon. It is so soothing, easy to drink and makes a very good butter tea. Butter tea is tea cooked with milk and salted butter, it is amazing in the winter, give it a try.

Genmaicha has been my favorite green tea for years, but I hadn't found my favorite one yet...until I tried this one. Other genmaichas I've tried have been just a little too weak, but this one is perfect. It's smooth and toasty and my go-to for nearly every morning, and it has just enough caffeine to keep me going.

This is one of my favorite teas on the days when I want a little less caffeine. The taste is toasty as well as green so it’s not harsh on the stomach. I fine it a comforting brew on chill rainy days as well.

Very much not what I was expecting…took me by surprise how much I loved it! The toasted rice is delicious balanced with the vegetal green tea…this became my morning tea instead of flavored and sweetened black tea! Much easier and more comforting start to my early mornings 😊

Honestly I wasn’t really sure I would enjoy this so much! Will definitely be getting another bag!

Hot, iced, this stuff is THE BEST!! I prefer it cold, directly from the fridge, in big gulps, on a hot day.

Everyone who tries this at my house loves it. I frequently send it as a gift and it's one of my grandkids favorites. Nice flavor, very different from most teas, toasty taste. It's a nice change up. So far, three generations of us love it. This is a tea that I am asked to stock --- by all ages. Still being enjoyed by four generations in our home.

I have always loved Genmai Cha and Adagios is just better then other ones I have tried
★★★★★
This has been my go-to tea for awhile now, and one I'll definitely reorder! Compared to other green teas, the bitterness is almost nonexistent thanks to the rice, giving it a light, nutty taste to it. Warm and comforting, this is a great tea to start with if you're wanting to try green tea too!

This is a great twist on a green tea. There is a definite toasty flavor, but the green tea still comes through.

I've always loved me a genmai cha and Adiagio's is no different. It is one of the first non-black teas I fell for. Slightest bit of sweet meets the nutty notes for perfection. And who doesn't love a little popcorn in their tea?!

This was probably the worst Genmai Cha I've ever had. :( I'll stick with the market brands.
★★★★★
I love the tea and I love the story behind it. I've ordered it again.
★★★★★
Genmai cha has green tea blended with toasted rice, which makes for a smooth, somewhat nutty green tea flavor, with a brown rice overtone. The smell of the rice is strong: it reminds me of rice krispies. I like this tea especially in the evening because it isn't heavy, and sits better in my stomach than many teas after a large meal. UPDATE: This has become a reliable green tea I can drink to relax in the evening without worrying about interrupting my sleep or heartburn.

Light and toasty. I’m not a fan of umami flavors, so this fit the bill.

Nice nutty flavor! Perfect if you want a milder green tea flavor.

This tea is one of my favorites, but I can't figure out what the little white puffed rice pieces do for this tea. They're cute, but I'm not sure they have anything to do with the taste. Genmai Cha is a very smooth, mellow and relaxing tea that always creates a calm atmosphere for me.

Genmai Cha tastes toasty, nutty, puffed rice in green tea—probably because that’s what it is. There’s no grassiness to it. It’s just a smooth cup of green tea with the fun of puffed rice in it—almost like a meal in a cup.

Toasted rice and light vegetal flavors make this a satisfying savory tea. I try to brew the green for less time and with less heat than the black teas.

Great intro green tea, the rice helps it not be too astringent.

I did some research on different types of Japanese Green Tea to find one similar to what they serve you at most Japanese restaurants I have been too. I was happy to find most of them available here on Adagio and they're amazing! Got to try them all if you love green tea. This one is definitely my favorite of their selections.

I like it I don't drink green tea that much but I would buy again

This tea has a wonderful robust brown rice flavor. The green tea that is in there is a great combination with the brown rice flavor. I would highly recommend this tea to any of my friends and family.

I like this a lot and drink it regularly, but as time goes on, I am starting to feel that I wish it was a bit heavier on the tea and lighter on the rice...

Very nice green tea with unique taste. Reminds me a little of cereal.

I like the slight sweetness of this tea. It takes a little getting used to at first because it has a toasted taste. It has grown on me. I don't even use honey in it and I usually put at least a little honey in my tea.

Tried this on recommendation of my friend who loves Japanese teas. SO interesting. Toasty popcorn flavor- almost malty- with a bright grassy green background.
★★☆☆☆
It could be that this tea simply doesn't suit my tastebuds, but while I prepared it expecting an unusual flavor at worst, I actually couldn't finish my cup. That has never happened to me before with anything I've ordered from Adagio. Luckily I only ordered a sample - I would highly suggest anyone else sample it first as well, unless you already know you're fond of genmaicha.
★★★★★
I like the lite flavor .It goes great with any seafood/noodles.
★★★★★
So yummy. This reminds me of seaweed rice cakes in tea form. Last time I had this blend was from Argo and Adagio is so much better because it doesn't give you acid reflux.

I like it! It does taste a bit toasty and popcorn-y, but I don t love the green tea part. @adagioteas
★★★★★
this tea is so nice! very gentle tasting. The color is also very nice.

Tried this in the green sampler and immediately ordered a bigger size pouch. Smells like popcorn

There's nothing wrong with this, but it's not really my thing, mainly because I prefer black teas. The taste here is a bit unusual because of the rice; again, nothing bad, but not something I particularly enjoy. Probably at least worth trying if you've never had it though, just for the experience, since it does seem like an unusual combination.

Customer service is horrible. Their computer system coughed or puked or mixed up a one and a zero and sent my order to an address I haven't lived at for NINE YEARS. Then, they wanted to charge me $18 to 'track' my order. While the tea is great, there is no phone number to call to contact customer service. All communication is done via email. If there is a problem, you are screwed. Buyer beware.
This is one of my favorite teas and I keep coming back for more. This version is more subtle than others with a lovely, nutty aroma and clean flavor. Holds up well to double brewing. I tend to brew longer, allow the tea to sit in the strainer in my tetsubin teapot and it never tastes like it's been sitting around getting old. I highly recommend it.
