This has notes of popcorn and of sesame. I really like it.

This was not the best genmaicha I have had and also not the worst. It was nutty and savory. For the price, it was okay, but there are genmaichas I personally prefer so this would not be a repurchase.

Our whole house loves Genmaicha! Adagio's version seems to have slightly more rice than others we've tried (no complaints) and the sencha base is bright and grassy without the underlying sourness lower quality senchas can have.

This tea is good, I do think I prefer a matcha genmai cha so elevate the flavor even more but I will happily drink this tea

★★★★★

I love the flavor and aroma of the brown rice in this tea. It has an excellent taste!

★★★★★

This was the original reason I joined adagio. I needed access to good genmai. If you like the popcorny flavor behind some gentle grassy green tea...this one is for you.

★★★★★

This is my favorite tea the toasted rice makes the taste and smell really good better 2nd steep

My favorite morning tea, and also to have with asian meals

★★☆☆☆

This was not my first Genmai Cha, I ordered it because I am a fan of Genmai Cha I've purchased at my local asian specialty market in tea bags and thought I would try it loose. Unfortunately this blend felt to be entirely flat and missing the special ricey flavor I love.

★★★★☆

This wasn't the best popped rice green tea I've ever had, but it did the trick.

★★★★★

Great tea! The popcorn flavor is surprisingly delightful. I am addicted.

★★★★★

This is a wonderful wonderful tea. It is toasty and makes me feel so cozy, like I’m coming home.

Genmai cha is my favorite green tea. Nice rich nutty flavor from the roasted rice.

★★★★★

Excellent flavor, the toasted rice gives this a wonderful nutty undertone to compliment the herbal flavors of green tea.

★★★★★

I've been drinking genmai cha tea for years and often purchase it directly from an Asian market. Due to the pandemic, I haven't been shopping and person and decided to try the green tea sampler when I placed an order. This genmai cha is better than what I can get in the market! It is nutty and flavorful and the flavor is strong without being overpowering. This is a definite favorite.

★★★★★

Best tea ever! I would highly recommend this green tea to people who also like coffee.

★★★★★

I think the earthy, roasted flavor of this tea can turn people off especially with the natural bitterness of green tea, but personally i think as long as you don't oversteep it this tea is absolutely perfect. it gives me a just right kick in the morning

Savory, savory, and savory! this is very nice savory tea

★★★★☆

Tastes really good, Genmai Cha has always been one of my favorite green teas.

★★★★☆

This was good, I just wanted more green tee flavor.

★★★★★

A dash of this (1/4 teaspoon per 16 oz) in fresh boiling water to bring out the flavor of the roasted rice, paired with 5 jasmine pearl balls is the perfect cup of tea for me

Great nutty flavor. I brewed only one cup, but could probably do two

★★★★★

What a surprising tea! Green tea is not usually my first choice, but this savory tea definitely charmed me. It holds a permanent place in my tea arsenal

Always love a genmaicha, it’s grassy and delicious

The rice softens the green tea nicely and adds a lot of nutty tastes and makes it much more savory. Great daily drinker at the desk. Would be especially good for someone who thought sencha green tea was too harsh or bitter

★★★★★

Can't go wrong with this tea, the roasted rice gives it a wonderful and unique flavor

★★★★★

One of the best genmai Cha teas I’ve had. I love the flavors.

★★★★★

Always a staple, enjoyable any time of the day. I have multiple cups daily!

★★★★☆

When opening the package the smell immediately hits the nose. I really enjoy the roasted flavor of the rice, but that is the only thing that stands out. It's not my favorite Genmai Cha, but I think it is still good.

★★★★★

One of my favorite mid day teas. Really soft buttery flavor with a gentle grassy green.

★★★★★

This is my second favorite green tea, gunpowder being my first. I love the taste of the popped rice. I love when I can find it at sushi restaurants and I love enjoying a cup at home. It’s definitely a different flavor for green and I just adore it

★★★★★

Excellent version of a classic tea! Highly recommend.

★★★★★

This is the best green tea! So smooth and the popped rice adds another layer to the tea.

★★★★★

For years Genmai Cha has been one of my favorite teas and I have tried a lot of different brands. I like this one because of the light nutty flavor that keeps the green tea from tasting bitter. I also like price for the quality of tea, especially for loose leaf

★★★★★

I heard great things about this tea and the flavor profile was spot on but it was a little too savory for me.

Genmai cha is one of my favorites tea. I just love the quality of this tea. The flavor is delicate and delicious.

★★★★★

I love having this tea at dinner time with family. We eat a lot of Korean and Chinese food and it goes great with both!

★★★☆☆

I loved the toasted flavor this tea has. However, the green tea flavor is weak. I used two heaping teaspoons and the flavor was still very mild, almost no color to the water.

★☆☆☆☆

This was not for me. I was intrigued but the nuttiness, but it just tastes like dry rice cakes over tea.

★★★★☆

I've tried some other Genmai Cha - this one has a stronger toasted taste which I love. It's a green tea with a toasty (slightly nutty) flavor. Not as sophisticated as a fine oolong, but it's a hearty taste for Breakfast or whenever. It's a staple go-to tea for me - where as Da Hong Pao (my all time favorite) I drink more to savor. It's very expensive. Wu Yi Ensemble is my current favorite.

This is basic, comfort tea. The rice adds a toasty, earthy depth to the flavor of tea. It reminds me of the tea that's served at my favorite restaurant.

★★★★★

This one was very surprisingly different . But I enjoy it a lot. I don’t know how to describe the taste. Absolutely worth trying. This is my second order.

★★★★★

Trying to diet? This is the best! not only do you get the effects of the green tea, when I drink it, my apitite is usually quenched as well!

★★★★★

Great roasty toasty flavor. One of the better genmai chas I have tried over the years.

★★★★★

When I'm in the mood for green tea but perhaps less caffeine, I reach for this. Perfect on a cold winter day.

★★★★★

This tea has a great taste and is really lovely. For a gaiwan or infuser user, the leaves are a bit on the small side; however, if you don't mind a bit of rice or tea in your liquor, it's just fine.

This is one of my favorites. For some reason, the toasty flavor of the rice calms me. This is my go-to tea during times of stress...so basically every day this year.

★★★★★

A lot of green and white teas leave me wanting. Too grassy, too seaweed-fishy, too bitter. I was starting to despair that I'd have to stick to black tea with milk and honey. Enter Genmai Cha, where the toasty rice flavor adds something mellow and delicious. I started with teabags from Brand X, but after trying Adagio's blend of loose-leaf, I was hooked. It's just better on all counts, a smooth, nutty, easy sipper with zero or a little sweetener. Good for two steeps; loses a little on the second, but not much. Highly recommended!
