Dragonwell Customer Reviews

One of China's most famous teas, from Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. Distinctive flattened leaf shape gives the tea an inviting, toasty aroma. Sweet rounded flavor, like freshly roasted white corn. Nutty, buttery texture, pleasantly dry finish.

I discovered this tea from a local seller, liked it, but found it a bit harsh and inconsistent at times. This Dragonwell has become one of my favorite green teas. It is smooth, mellow and subtly sweet. The taste and aroma remain as the tea cools.

A strong and satisfying green tea, very refreshing

★★★★★

One of my favorite green teas from adagio, Dragonwell sits alongside citrus mint, gunpowder, and hunan gold as a part of my regular rotation. It's nice for when you want a lighter, naturally sweet green tea. Very refreshing.

★★★★★

Nutty, smooth, just a little smokey. This is one of the best Dragonwell teas I've had.

Very bold green tea flavor if you don't like green tea don't get this. But if you like the flavor but need more of that, get this.

Dragonwell? More like DragonSWELL, am I right theydies?

Just kidding. It’s green tea, it’s fine. It tasted. Very much like a standard green tea. @adagioteas

★★★★★

A very smooth, straw colored grassy green tea. No bitterness, enjoy as is. Lots of character from a relatively small pinch of leaves.

Light yet incredibly flavorful. Subtle nuttiness and astringency set it apart from any other green tea.

A wonderful, delicate green tea - this is one of my favorite green teas and this one from Adagio is pitch perfect.

This green tea is one of my favorites! I always order the largest size bag and it lasts me about a year. I'm on year 3 right now of this being my daily go-to tea of choice.

I love Dragonwell for a nice, smooth and satisfying cup of green tea. This Chinese variety offers the benefits of drinking green tea without the umami/savory flavor profile of its Japanese counterparts. If you prefer a lighter, sweeter cup of green tea this is a refreshing solution without the grassiness or vegetal notes.

This is head-and-shoulders above the average green tea. A quality tea, and you can taste the difference.

Light flavor. It’s good for those who want to get into drinking more green tea:

My favorite tea of all the green ones. Highly recommended.

Fragrant, grassy, delicious. Works well with additions - my favorites are mint & lavender, and lemon & ginger. But wonderful on its own as well, when you just want a solid mid-morning cup of tea.

This has such a lovely, full mouthfeel. It's slightly sweet and buttery, and remains tasty even if you're like me and... forget you were making tea and oversteep it a bit.

★★★★★

Dragonwell is better than I thought it was going to be.

Excellent for me, perhaps not for everyone. Grassy leaves of tea toasted in a wok, which leaves behind a fairly strong flavor. I love this green tea, only wish it was a bit more affordable.

Love dragonwell but this batch didn’t seem very nutty

★★★★★

Ok I was a matcha addict. Then a tea aficionado said try Lung Chin (Dragonwell Tea). Easier to prepare and more caffeine than matcha. If you want a more grassy mellow taste brew shorter.

★★★★☆

It just rings as pleasant to me. Lighter than you expect, it is a good tea to pep you up late morning to early afternoon.

★★★★★

This is very strong in taste but I love it. Green tea for sure

★★★☆☆

This was similar to other green teas, but became bitter when cooled. Hot, it was a pleasant enough grassy flavor but I guess I lean more towards teas with a floral scent.

★★★★★

I love this green tea. It has a subtle grassy taste and great depth. I keep coming back to it and enjoy it alone or mixed with Jasmine pearls.

★★★★★

In our quest for a new tea, this came in second. It is slightly more robust than gunpowder, and the price difference had us choosing Gunpowder over Dragonwell. We still drink this tea and serve it to guests. Definitely a worthy addition to any tea cabinet.

★★★★★

This is an excellent green tea. Each sip will remind you of high mountain slopes covered with verdant foliage. But really, this is a smooth tea, subtle notes of flowers, and a nice afternoon treat.

2018 - My husband is a green tea snob and this is now his favorite! Love it!

2021 - My husband still drinks this tea everyday. It's been years and he has no desire to change.

★★★★★

I usually drink Genmai Cha and this is a nice alternative for something just a little different. Love the fresh earthy aroma.

★★★★★

We made this gongfu style, so 15 seconds at 175. I had always heard this was a great green tea for beginners, and now I know why!! This is a very sweet green tea, to the point I don’t need to add honey (though I love honey too much not to). It’s not a sickly sweet, though; it still has a lot of flavor and is a very full bodied tea. Definitely worth its reputation!

One of my favorite greens. Perfect cup to calm you down and mediate over, or get you through your day. Light and delicate, a must have in any tea pantry.

The flavor is much lighter than I had anticipated. I doubled the normal steeping quantity to try to increase flavor. Still good, but not my favorite.

For a straight green tea this is pretty good. It has a pretty good amount of flavor and goes well with a bit of honey to bring out the flavor. It is harder to get 2 cups out of one teaspoon with enough flavor in the second cup. Probably would consider buying it again. Like it better than sleeping dragon which is too mild for me

★★★★★

This is my morning tea and blended with the chocolate raspberry (black tea), makes my perfect morning wakeup!

★★★★★

Very good Dragonwell for the price. Has a nice toasty/nuttiness up front, but gives way to the classic vegetal notes of a green tea as you drink it. It has a smooth mouthfeel with low astrigency. I feel it has a very slight sweetness as you drink it too. This is an easy drinking green, but it is certainly not a 'light' green. It has a bit more body and depth to it. A classic green that every green tea drinker should try at least once.
