Dragonwell Customer Reviews

One of China's most famous teas, from Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. Distinctive flattened leaf shape gives the tea an inviting, toasty aroma. Sweet rounded flavor, like freshly roasted white corn. Nutty, buttery texture, pleasantly dry finish.

★★★☆☆

always great quality has a raw flavor, unlike some teas this needs sugar,

★★★★★

I originally got this product off of the Emperor Sampler, and I liked it so much I decided to order a full size package.

★★★★★

This is a great, reasonably-priced Dragonwell. The tea is lightly buttery with the underlying taste of sweet corn and veggies. Do not overbrew or it will overpower the interesting aspects of the tea.

★★★★☆

A good dragonwell, very light in flavor, grassy notes.

★★★☆☆

Satisfying enough experience with the prescribed water temperature, though I prefer more toasty greens like Houjicha.

★★★★★

One of my top daily green teas, mid day is always a perfect time for some dragonwell or gunpowder

★★★☆☆

This wasn't particularly good nor was it particularly bad, it simply doesn't have the richness of other dragonwell teas I've had. It doesn't hold many steeps and has a slight stale taste.

★★★★★

My go-to tea, excellent taste, mildly tannic. Great everyday green.

★★★★★

Dragonwell has definitely become a green tea staple of mine over the past couple months. The liquor has a jadish-srawy color to it, a suttle grassy aroma and the roasted, pan fired essence are definitely noted as you sip this tea. A toasted, walnuty taste is delivered making this tea unique, and very enjoyable.

★★★★☆

A good everyday smooth green. Resteeped the leaves three times and the flavor is still pretty good - will be keeping this on hand as an alternative to my favorite genmaicha.

This is one of my go to greens - not grassy but a nice flavor in your cup, not watery

★★★★☆

A very good green tea. Little grassy as well as a bit of a roasted/earthy flavor. I like it.

★★★☆☆

Alright, not great. Just plain, simple, tea. You might like it better

★★★★★

This is my go-to green tea. When I first started drinking tea, I tried this, and didn't love it, but now, I really appreciate the smooth taste. No sugar needed, even when it steeps for a little longer.

used 1.3g (1 teaspoonful) with 170 degree water… 7-7.5oz of water and steeped for a little over a minute. Grassy flavor, moderate astringency and somewhat savory. Has a nice subtle sweetness to it. 2nd infusion only steeped for 25-35 seconds, around 170 degrees. Less astringent. Nice flavor, slightly above average tea.

★★★☆☆

This tea I bought for my brother, so these are his words: 'It was alright for a green tea.' He liked it with a bit of sugar, but told me not to buy it again.

★★★★★

This has to be one of the best green tea's i have ever had.

★★★★★

This is a nice gentle green tea, brews up looking almost like a white tea. It's a new household favorite.

★★★★★

This is the perfect cup of green tea. No sharp flavors and not bland.

★★★★★

Dragonwell is a round, mild green tea. It lacks any overpowering notes, in contrast to a nasty cup of bong water produced by something like gunpowder.

★★★★★

An easy to drink green tea with a unique roasty flavor.

Now this is an OK tea. I am very particular with Long Jing which was a family favourite for decades. I wish I could say this is a Good tea but I can't. Probably the weather was not favourable or something happened... I can feel it was treated and has a very low quality in comparison with a high or even mid end Long Jing. It's OK for everyday use or if you haven't tried a good Long Jing before...

I really enjoy this green tea, it is very smooth with a clean flavor

★★★★☆

I enjoyed this very light green tea and appreciated that it was not bitter in any way. However, I enjoyed the more flavorful hojicha.

★★★★☆

This tea is very high quality. The flavor is distinct and nutty. I would buy this again.

★★★★★

This made a very enjoyable cup. It is everything that I expect from a green tea and done in a very elegant fashion. There is not too much of a single attribute and all the flavors seem to be in harmony.

★★★☆☆

Grassy flavor that was difficult to make enjoyable. 2 minute steeping time and a lot of honey did the trick.

★★★★★

Smooth with a rich toasty flavor, I can see why this tea is so popular, it definitely meets the hype. Looking forward to purchasing more of this great tea.

★★★★★

Exellent green tea. A tea green lovers should have.

★★★★★

This is my all time favorite green tea!! I keep this in a special reserved tin that I only allow myself to drink on special occasions or a very stressful day when I need something to pick me up. It's just that amazing!! It seems expensive but isn't at all bad when you compare it to other suppliers. I LOVE this tea!

★★★☆☆

It is a good basic Green Tea not bad or great. Just a normal green tea.

★★★★★

★★★★★

This is my favorite of the non-grassy green teas. It stands up to multiple brews, and although it tastes best with a short brew time it doesn't get too bitter if it brews too long. It also works well if you add some flavored teas to it (fruit, mint, etc.)

The is a perfect green tea. The flavor isn't super mild but also isn't too 'grassy' tasting.

★★★★★

The tea pairing is a great idea. It's fun to be able to sample the tea and learn more about the different variety of teas you offer. I have already enjoyed this at home!!!

★★★★★

Best green tea - on its own and in mixing with berry blends. Love it!

★★★★☆

This is a nice clean green tea. It really hits the spot when you're looking for an unflavored tea that isn't too earthy.

★★★★★

An excellent green tea...smooth to the finish, but personally I prefer pi lo chun.

★★★★★

Love it! One of my favorites. Nice, grassy, beautiful light color.

Dragonwell is a great basic green tea. It's a more expensive than some of the other good greens, but it basically never gets bitter when you forget about it. I usually use the leaves 3 or 4 times.

Love dragonwell. Adagio has the best price. Tea brews multiple times all day well. So far it's my favorite green tea. If you're new to green tea this is one to try. I stick to 2 minutes on the brew and use a temperature adjustable electric kettle set at 180.

very good tea...but rather difficult to brew...i messed this tea up on multiple occasions and got a really bitter taste but when brewed for about a minute or two it has a very pleasant taste.
